    Broken leg fix: Splint = stick + rags (rags: right click on shirt>tear into rags) (sticks: look at bush, scroll, chop kindling if you have an axe in your hands or if you have no axe look at forest floor, scroll search for kindling) or morphine .22 is a POS, yes you can find 30 rd mag for it.   4. I have not had any issues with characters saving on any servers, I play on both persistent and non-persistent servers 1st and 3rd.

    CPU bottleneck when in towns (due to geometry) is a problem and has been since arma 2 and probably earlier. Try lowering your view distance in your dayzprofilefile in my docs. The only other setting to lower that will get you more FPS in towns object detail (scene complexity). Try getting away from the large towns, you will notice that both FPS and GPU usage will rise.

    Character Independence and Gear

    Would not work. Your saying a player should not be able to loot their own corpse because each life should have zero connection with the last life. Ok so what If ran past a mosin in a barn on the way to NWA before I died, so now I'm running back to NWA as a freshy and I think, "I might see if that mosin is still there". Do you think I should not be able to see/pick up the mosin just because I died in between first seeing it and picking it up? What about if I had a car or a tent that I wanted to visit on the way? Remembering where stuff is on a server will become even more a part of the gameplay when persistence is implemented across all servers. You can see where I'm going with this right? You need to extrapolate your ideas a bit more before you suggest them. As the sayings goes "live and learn" and "knowledge is power" ****************** As for the manual idea that's just an item you need to acquire in order to 'do' something. We already have that stuff they are just not under the guise of 'manuals'. If the manual actually contained some kind text which had to be followed in game people would just screen shot it once and refer back to that or just remember it.

    Yeah awesome poll, lets imagine what games would be like if they were made by different companies. I refuse to vote on this absurd topic but I will say that if naughty dog do has anything to do with it wrestling zombies off with QTE's will feature heavily.

    I am a huge fan of BP for Arma 3 but after 600hrs of that I have returned to the SA, for now. ************************* @OP As far as this whole argument goes any criticism about the SA can be directed squarely at B.I. It's their game now. You can't single out one person in company and say "you should get the sack". You don't really know anything about B.I. or its employees or how the company is structured and run. It might be a good Idea to get rid of Dean, it might not, who knows? Certainly not you.

  12. Hey I don't think you quite realise what we have come from....the original map had only a handful of buildings you could enter...now nearly all of them are. If the scale looks a bit 'off' I guess its because they (devs) wanted to keep the general layout of the towns the same and so didn't want to change the external size of the buildings/houses too much. You are never going to get the detail that you get in a single player corridor shooter. The interiors are functional and I think they look quite good.

    Crossbows being ignored?

    Ammo ! I need ammo for the crossbow, make them spawn in packs of 10. 5 is not enough and they are too rare. I always pick up the scope when I find it but I just never have enough ammo.

  19. PersisTENTS ! Zombies are much better. Map is coming along nicely. Hunting/cooking/camping is giving me that warm fuzzy... New crafting options / items / gunz are also nice. Keep up the good work devs.

    A few questions about survival - SA .48 Stable

    Wouldn't worry about a tent at this stage, I think we are in for a wipe before the end of the month. Fingers crossed.
  21. All you need is 5.0ghz cpu and you will get 40 fps in towns easy.
  22. The normal (traditional) type of AA found in most (older) games is MSAA which is just called anti aliasing in dayz. There is low (x2), med (x4) and high (x8) very high (x16). The newer type of AA is called FXAA, in Dayz they have called it 'edge smoothing'.

    Layering System/Clothing useless, how to fix

    A few random thoughts and ideas, some are on topic some are not... Yes weather and clothing should affect gameplay and there should be some sort of mechanic to deal with the hot and cold weather; Sprinting in the sun with full kit for extended periods should effect your hydration and energy levels. If you only wearing a T-shirt and shorts and running shoes you should be able to run faster and for longer and not need to eat/drink as much than someone with military boots and a mountain pack full of gear. The speed at which you run should be affected by how 'energised' and 'hydrated' you are AND how much gear (weight) your are carrying. All gear should have a weight and and to move that weight requires energy (food). eg if you want to sprint with a full kit from balota to svetlo you are going to need more food and water than someone who has nothing. The buffs and nerfs to movement speed and hunger / thirst level should be minor only. At night time it should always be cold; if you only have a t-shirt on 'you are cold' > 'you are freezing' (shaky aim and random chance to get 'sick'). Sitting still for too long could make this worse. If it was raining at night time and your clothes become 'wet' you cannot warm up unless you dry your clothes by a fire that is in doors. If you get rained on during the day your clothes dry over time. If your clothes stay wet for too long degradation of certain items occurs. When 'you are cold' you should need more food to stay 'energised' and if you eat hot food you should warm up instantly. Raincoat and gumboots (wellies) should stop you getting wet if its raining. I'm not too sure about the layering, that may be going a bit too far but certainly the weather/temperature should have an effect on gameplay. Introducing a weight system for your inventory that directly effects your hunger and thirst levels in conjunction with movement speed is a big step that a lot of people will be against but again I will say that the buffs and nerfs I'm talking about here only need to minor. Also while I'm at it lets make some changes to the sounds a character makes when moving: The sound of movement should be dependant on what clothing/equipment that person is carrying. The following should all have slightly different sounds: Sneakers / boots / no shoes Jacket / t-shirt / vest and jacket / raincoat Carrying a melee in hands / melee on back Carrying a primary weapon in hands / primary weapon on back Basically a fully kitted out player sprinting along would sound a lot different to a fresh spawn sprinting along.
