Keep your eyes peeled. Lots of innocents have discovered since yesterday that the hacks are still out there! Despite having never joined the forums before, they are dutifully now signing up to put up first posts reporting that they are seeing hacks. The ones who want to seem more clever might mention the bans in passing just in case you are too dense to see the strategy.

Well it's not for me to judge in any way that matters, but based on this and another thread, it appears that the new strategy is to join the forums and claim that hacking hasn't stopped to prove that the ban methods were wrong. Who knows, maybe this stuff is happening but it's suspicious that all of these fine fellows have joined just today. For myself, I am wondering if anyone who's been in the forum community for a while will post any lf these claims and for maximum amusement, I'm wondering how similar the ip addresses of these new hack witnesses are.

You may need to ask at the steam forums. The cd key is stored in the registry. Are you running windows 7? Perhaps you forgot to run everything "as administrator". My admittedly questionable memory seems to be that this error comes up under these circumstances. Also, I believe if you started I've like this, you'd need to run the base Arma II game, close it, then Operation Arrowhead, close it, then combined operations.

Just to let people know... I 'skipped' update xx666 and went straight to xx715. The game was crashing and giving me exceptions, so I went back and installed the 666 patch and had no problems thereafter. Are the patches accumulated, or will there be problems if you skip them? Anecdotally, it seems to me that they have to be installed in order or you will have problems... At least some of them... L

I do not see crashed helicopters often, but when I do I find a few of em. I have only found them on two servers before and on both of them I ended up finding three crashed helicopters, however neither me nor my friend could loot them in any way no matter how much we searched for the loot spot. As for vehicles, if the server has them (meaning you found boats and bikes) then you just gotta start looking in the right places. So far my group has had and lost or currently has: 4 bicycles, 3 ATVs, 1 motorcycle, 1 white off road truck, 1 off road military, 2 jeeps, 3 cars, 2 helicopters and 5 boats. Look inside large warehouses, in alleys, around shacks out in the middle of the woods with civilization a fifteen minute walk away, in clearings, under bridges, in the ship wreck, partially submerged in ponds/lakes, at the ends of dead end roads, and all of the places that make you think "Damnit, this is gonna be a bitch to fix" due to the location. Once you find one just stock it with parts and cruise for more. Well, if someone finds those spots first, no vehicle. I find a lot of those kinds of buildings with the doors hanging open. I continue to search, but I believe that people get hold of the limited number of vehicles on a given server rapidly, then move them off the map.

Hm. Well this greenmangaming site has it's own Steamlike program where you launch your games from. Arma II is from them. OA is from Steam. Ya and combined operations uses elements from both.

Yeah I learned this about 2 hours in. Nice to warn others. A rifle/mak weapon takes an astonishing 10 slots in your pack, I hear. Your sidearm, 5. I think those are with just an additional clip of ammo. It tries to move the ammo with the gun, too. So if you have a lot, move tone of pack space available. For myself, I just don't. Meanwhile, a 20 liter gas can... 3 slots. Helicopter main rotor, &c, &c... It is what it is.

Sounds like its looking for arma in the default steam directories and you installed it somewhere else.

I got frustrated for a while. I found new ways to play. I'm having plenty of fun. There are plenty of games out there. Have fun.

Yeah, clan based servers, they swarm in on a start because their admin warns them ahead of time or conveniently does it when a lot of them a online. The clan termites swarm in with online maps, grab all of the vehicles, move them all off map and normal players never get one. Very server dependent.

Absolutely ridiculous. It will never happen. I have three computers and three mobile devices at my desk right now. How will you stop me playing on my Windows gaming machine, and using my ipad or mac for teamspeak?.. You dream.

Oh, if you have this info, please go and give the proof to me on why I was banned please. Thank you very much. I put a lot of money into this clan and BE to go and give me a bad name...... Perhaps English is your second language. The bans are not from rocket or the Dayz dev team.... email battleeye for appeals. That has been stated a million times. They did everything but show up at your house and tattoo it on your ass. That will be next.
