  1. Day Z is the only game than i don't get completely annoyed at dying in, gives me exhilaration when fighting players, excites me when finding a great item and keeps me respawning to do it all again. For that alone, i'd pay up to full price of a hot ticket game, gives me more enjoyment than they do, for me that's from 80 to 110 AUD.

    Cherno/Elektro Horrors

Both cities have a few sniper nests in the hills around the city, Elektro has the better vantage hill in my opinion. Haven't been killed on the coast yet, but some just like upping the murder count, others probably practising sniping on moving targets or learning the mill dots in a practical situation (Not with an editor firing range). In the city you have: - Paranoid Newbs - Paranoid Vets - Loot Squads with or without Overwatch (Sniper) - Groups - Close Range Bandits Get in, get your stuff then get the hell out of dodge to the north.
  3. Mostly the Map, Tent and Kobra everything else is common enough from swinging by a Hospital/Supermarket. Good finds none the less for two hours work,
  4. Only thing that bothers me is trekking from Cherno/Elektro to NW Airfield again looting isn't really a problem, have more fun dodging and playing zombie/player ninja gearing in the city than walking up north.

is my 2nd guy a "survivor"?

As far as airfields go, it's a situational decision, unarmed people may just happen on an AKM/M16 etc and then double around to kill you in return for being kind. Might even be a fresh spawned bandit getting geared up to camp a city or the airfield itself. Generally armed survivors are considered bandits by me personally, just because of the many situations were i've trusted and been stabbed in the back at the airfields. Thus Airfields are KOS for me, just can't take the chance of being killed. Unless they don't see me, then i'll give them the old clear out or be shot warning at gunpoint from behind.
  6. In Day Z you are a human, centre mass shot from many of the weapons would be enough to put an average human down, three would be overkill.

Zombies or Gun shots in town?

Zombies are just a nuisance if i have a weapon, pain if don't. Gunshots are far more threatening depending on the sound of the shot, if i hear the whizz from it barely missing me, i bolt but if it's in the distance i investigate to see if i'm shooting a bandit or helping a newbie or survivor. Gunshots are much more scary. Sniper shots mean get the hell out of dodge.

    AK74 vs AKM

AKM is better for everything in my experience with both weapons, if your dragging zombies out of the way to shoot them already you'll save ammo and the noise is a non issue then, good for killing players as well but i put 2-3 shots into a survivor to be safe regardless.
  9. Unconditional Trust will more often than not get you killed like it has me when i started, you made a good choice for survival, when a gun is pointed at you, they intend to shoot most of the time, 50% chance they said friendly so you would let your guard down, 50% they were actually friendly, you made the best call for the situation in my opinion. As they say "Never point a gun at something you don't intend to kill".

    DayZ Stories

Not so much a story of survival as much as it is terrible luck but anyway. Started my day out with an AKM and some other stuff, previously looted the Balota Airstrip after spawning in at Kamenka, made my way into Cherno from the apartments to check the military tents and grab supplies then dart to the supermarket. After a previous bit of luck on another spawn finding an ALICE in the apartments and to lose the zombies i had following me i entered one apartment to take down the zombies, going in the door i come under fire so i dart in and climb to the roof straight away, waiting for a few minutes i climb down and notice the offender hiding in the corner of the hospital prone, dispatched him form the balcony with a few AKM rounds. Going down to loot to find a crossbow and some other things. After finishing my Cherno route without another incident i headed up to Starry and got lost due to the lack of a compass and map, ended up at the NW Airfield by accident with just an AKM and one clip, a spare AKM in my bag for a friend next time we played. I figure out i'm on the far west side of the strip, looting the buildings for nothing of value, i swing around the tree line to cross over to the barracks and hangars, when lo and behold i find a crashed helicopter. Coming out with a shiny FN FAL, M107 with a fair bit of ammo and other goodies, i depart for the supermarket in Vybor not wanting to go into the airfield to find food, after looting the supermarket finding all the tools i need aside a compass and getting medical supplies, food and an extra water canteen, i head for a treeline and end the day. Through a Murder, Cherno run, A Crashed Heli and Vybor's supermarket and three story plus the two buildings i went through to get the the supermarket, i did not find a single sidearm, not one makarov or anything, counting my blessings, but still a very unlucky day.
