    My 1.7.2.5 patch notes

Your patch would have the playstyle of 'find gun, kill players, looting is now a complete waste of time if i can't find food/water reliably let them do it for me then kill them'
  2. If you get hacker ported, ALT-F4 or Abort right away. No shame in doing it when a hacker is about, Debug spawns/log ins are automatically placed to the coast now by the way . I know because i logged out at Elektro and loaded back in at the coast next session. And complimentary. "Name" was Killed. "Name" was Killed. "Name" was Killed. "Name" was Killed.

    No bleed out limit? What?

Always have at least two ready to use bandages and then three more in the backpack just in case. In Day Z there is no such thing as to many meds. Might think it's a wasted slot but breaking your legs or bleeding out with no morphine or bandages makes that extra mag of ammo look a lot more stupid to have.

    best location for big camps

I believe they are talking about Misty Peak, DayZ DB doesn't show it.

    Bring back the respawn button

I had a spawn in the debug forest after the removal, you know what happened? The server automatically placed me on the coast. But i'll tell you the fix that i tell everyone i play with, if you spawn in the debug forest, DON'T FUCKING MOVE seriously, if you don't move and abort and reconnect, you'll be reset to the coast. Otherwise it's your own damn fault, moving after loading in saves your location, don't move and you'll be fine. Getting stuck, that's to bad, i have never spawned stuck before, i always log out in a clear area, normally prone under a pine tree, not touching it, but enough to give me cover during the friendly fire phase of loading. I'd much rather have to run from Kamenka to Berezino, than to deal with long load times and server problems than have the ability to respawn over and over. Let's face it, how many people actually used the respawn button for legitimate reasons? Not many people i'm sure, since the debug/stuck spawns are rare. And who wants to see. "Name" was Killed. "Name" was Killed. "Name" was Killed. "Name" was Killed. Over and over. If you have an issue, find a high place and jump off, or get zombies to eat you. Just learn to travel by landmarks and your friend finding issue will go away. You and your friends should meet half way anyway, saves a lot of time.

    Rarest Item?

NVG's, Rangefinders or GPS i believe maybe Ghillie Suits, not sure on actual percentages for them though. Though Heli only drops are up there, since you have to find a crashed heli and get the drop to.

    I found a Bus .-.

Take it, keep it fixed and then randomly drive to all the bus stops and see how many passengers you get along the way. Make sure you use Direct Chat to announce the next stop and stuff.
  8. When your posting something like this, you might want to actually do commentary (Audacity is decent enough to do it) to us it looks like you just started shooting. Not making assumptions, but i can't tell whether you shot in defence or as KoS. If you did say friendly, thats how Day Z works, especially in the city, no one trusts anyone in the city, more so when you have a gun. If you didn't then, thems the breaks.
  9. I'd assume so, dc or session lost in a boat spawns you in the ocean, i assume the same with choppers.
  10. Getting shot in the back by a group member, who then took all my stuff.

    DayZ IRL (airsoftLARP)

Things like this make me hate Australia, Illegal to own, sell or use Airsoft Guns. Paintball is great and all but watching one vs the other, the locations and maps/courses for Airsoft are much more diverse than what Paintball has, least in my experience going to different places. The variety in the guns helps to for me. All the power to the those guys that do the event, looks like a lot of fun.
  12. It happens a lot to a few of my friends, best bet is to drop your backpack before equipping the clothes. You might even get the bug i have, every time i change my clothes after dropping my coyote backpack it doubles and i get two, now i play the coyote backpack fairy and drop them in random tents i see.

    I feel really, really bad...

My assumption is from the description of what they were doing, they were waiting to strike you first. Either when you ran out of ammo or since they both said they had none, for you to take point and then shoot you in the back. No such thing as a bad person in Day Z, just the one who survived. Except Hackers, they are the bad people.
  14. After being in a group that owned a few vehicles it is a really bad state for them. Pretty much they never got taken out, since they were to risky to lose, practically the only thing we used them for was moving gear from point A to point B if our location got found out. Even then, they get stolen pretty quickly, Sad that the vehicles are so valuable you dare not take them out for fear you might lose them, pretty much just a storage unit. With static spawns, people just server hop the spawn points, if your travelling to find the camps with them that detracts from the game in my opinion, much more fun to have to repair a car in its spawn location than just finding it in a camp ready to go. My suggestion is to make them only be able to store spare parts and jerry cans, since right now, vehicles are a more secure storage space than the buggy tents. Could also despawn them every week or something to prevent hoarding, since a lot of the time, groups will have a few vehicles but only take out one when they leave camp, say like having two pickups an atv and ural, never use the atv and pickups and only take the ural out. Basically vehicles right now, are only good for finding other peoples vehicles. Choppers are just unnecessary in Day Z even if they are hard to hide. Just my two cents.

    Currency

Problem with these 'Trading Co's' is that they usually have something like. "Rare items only" Tacked on the end of the little description. Kinda seems a little sketchy. NVG's as a currency or Mountain Dews?, cause we all have those in abundance to trade with.
  16. I vote for the use whatever the group your joining uses. I used to use vent, now i use TS3. Mumble a little with a few friends but mainly TS3. Skype is eh, i hate listening to people eating.

    Stranded outside cherno

My eyes hurt after reading that font and color choice. But i guess nice Cherno survival.

    Please Help!

Spawning unconscious usually happens when you disconnect while in shock, happens to me occasionally, if my old character had it and i spawn a new one it has happens again. Usually only happens on the log in, just wait it out is all i can recommend.
  19. Landing an M107 shot through the lower rectangle window of the back part of the Elektro Supermarket into someguys knee before he killed my two friends (Who got shot by the guy hiding behind the counter >.>) still was an awesome moment, made better by the fact we discovered he was a hacker when cows started raining from the sky a few minutes later.

    Seriously..

I camp in the hills and snipe because, let's see. Oh right, my squad is walking through the city looting and i'm their eyes and the first defence to threats against them. OP should learn what Overwatch is.

Tom Berenger has a lot to answer for

Not surprising to hear something like this. Play FPS and all you hear is "Snipers shouldn't be able to quickscope" Play Military Simulator and "Snipers camp to much" Without realistic sniping, Day Z would jump straight into free for all deathmatch, everyone having to run around in CQC with assault rifles. People complain enough about DayZ becoming a FFA DM as it is. Overwatch is the greatest thing a team can have, It's not just snipers that grief, you just don't notice as much when your killed by an AR or Shotgun while unarmed, Griefers come with all guns. Snipers are fine as they are, It takes some practice and skill to hit targets at long ranges, I have found 1 natural spawned M107 & DMR in my time from a heli, the rest i found in stupidly placed camps. Other than that, not one sniper, never found replacement M107 mags either. As has been said the ammo/dupe bugs make it impossible to tell how many snipers are naturally spawning till that is fixed, we can't make assumptions, till then buck up and go kill the sniper who shot you, spend time learning the sniper nests or something.

    First impressions

Too hard with extremely sewere consequences. One small mistake and you loose hours of accumulate rewards. - Life is hard, this is a zombie mod for a military simulator, realism is a big part to an extent in how the game treats you, it is an anti-game, it is meant to draw out emotional reactions good and bad. Very rarely any feeling of triumph (at all) -You've never been in a firefight, not knowing where you opponent is for a period of time and trying to locate him before he locates you? Looting the airfield without being shot? Play on high pop servers and go to hot zones, that's as much triumph as you can get, you make your own goals and accomplish them in this mod. Really unprecise controls - This is not Day Z's fault, this is Arma 2's system and they are easy to get used to after awhile, this isn't much of a problem, just lack of experience. ....with extremely severe consequences - which is fine if the in-game possiblities match the challenges. They don't: - The in-game possibilities match the realistic challenge, going into a town for food in a real Day-Z wouldn't be to great on the risk v reward scale but you have to to survive, that's what DayZ is, Survival. unrealistic in a bad way - why can't I use a hunting knife or my bare fists to fight zombies? have they grown fangs when they became zombie? - Because that is not a part of Arma 2, The Hatchet and Crowbar took enough to get into the game as weapons, this is as good as it gets, besides fighting a zombie fist to fist wouldn't be a very realistic idea, unless you lack common sense. lack of melee-weapons: I'm sitting at a laptop now: used right I can kill people with it. Why can't I beat the zombies with 2x4? branches? the big hatchets in the chopping blocks? every household has a kitchen; what about the butchers knife in there? - Because that is the game, you can find a hatchet or crowbar, or a gun, they are pretty easy to come across, you expect to much from a mod that has given us so much. Bad affordance: you can't see which houses you can loot and which you can. - The windows of lootable buildings are see through-able, unlootable aren't, play for awhile and you will learn the skins of the lootable buildings and know straight away. Controls are very different from other shooters (Counterstrike, Team Fortress, Battlefield) and way to complicated for this game. Shave them down. - Again, not a shooter, Arma 2 is a Military Simulator, Day Z a mod for it, this is not going to have 8 buttons and a simple control scheme, it has a lot more player controls for the character, a lot more tools and other things. Learn the controls it's not to taxing. How come a whole colonne of dead soldier doesn't have any weapons on them? did the zombies take them? seriously? - What would the chances be of another group of survivors finding the same dead platoon? Take it as it comes, you'd be complaining it is to easy and boring to find loot in abundance if these were lootable. Extremely little chance of escaping zombies once you are detected - essentially: detected = dead. - Read up on the zombie escape tips, zig-zag through a forest, run through a building with two doors, make them walk down a steep hill, run to a dock, run them into another person etc. Really really annoying with the grey screen when you are hurt. - Blood Loss blurs vision, be happy you can survive with only a quarter of your blood left, also don't the shooter you mentioned have visual pain effects, CoD certainly fills your screen with blood. The color fade isn't that drastic, you can still see just fine. All of these are just stupid complaints i have to say, research the mod and the game it's for next time, before you start complaining.

This is NOT a zombie game...

I've watched many zombie movies, some i can not remember the names of, also i have watched the original 'of the deads' yet to see the remakes. I simply used the examples as a reference to the two different types people think about, Romero style is very heavily the biggest marker when people think of zombies, Rocket used 28 Days Later as a reference in an interview about which he preferred. Why use references of the genre from the 1930's when majority of people have only seen the more recent additions. I'm not going to list every single different type people have come up with within the genre since the 1920's it is uneccessary. If you want i can retract and say none of the above are correct and talk about the original 'zombie' from voodoo but that's besides the point. Point is, the game is a zombie survival game, plenty of fiction make the breakdown of society and psychological change within humans as the survival instinct kicks in as the focal point, the zombies are the cause of it all within those but the way humans react and adapt to the sudden threat becomes the main focus of the story, in my opinion this mod follows that path, Zombies are not much of a threat while other humans are. I'd rather not bicker, it serves no purpose, as for the concerns the op shows, i think that the zombies are as they should be, albeit glitchy, every death i've had to zombies has been while i was to busy focusing on another player being around me and not watching my back enough.

This is NOT a zombie game...

Zombie is pretty much a blanket term for something that is no longer clinically alive and eats human flesh. There is no canon zombie, as they are fiction, each artist prefers there own type, Romero to the slow horde, Others to the Infected Virus, Rocket happens to prefer the latter like 28 Days Later. Taking the lines from the movie is really not an accurate way to say what the director/creator thinks, the character is stating to their knowledge what they are, and most of us if we saw a human eating people and they weren't alive, would think Zombie. Call it a Post-Apocalyptic Sandbox Survival Horror if you want, still falls into the Zombie Genre.
  25. Tents are very very buggy. Best way to put a tent down is to place it, wait a day (For plenty of server restarts to make sure it doesn't vanish) then place a bad or easily replaced item inside (Painkillers or Bandages, Tin Cans work) and save it a few times, wait for the next restart and see if the item is still there, if it is, you have a working tent and it will be safe to use. Also on the topic of taken things, whenever i find a loaded tent, i take what i want but i make my stuff disappear, putting it into a full backpack etc, I make you think nothing has been taken and no one has been there, so you keep filling it for a supply point for me.
