  1. Pobeda Dam only contains the bitter tears of your kind now. Good job Razor
  2. I have some questions. * Are JSRS and CBA both allowed - this is good * Are there any custom buildings, camps, effects, mods, scripts, nonvanilla starting gear, weather changes etc - these are bad * What is the vehicle max? * Is side chat off? - this is good - a ts channel with plenty of space is a fine alternative. There's a group of us (5) looking for a proper vanilla server, one that is actually vanilla. We are sick to death of the ones that claim to be so you sign up then find NEAF is full of shit, theres 5 helis in the air, police cars, and babies on side chat calling out positions and happenings totally ruining the immersion. I'm sure if the above settings were implemented, we, along with the proportion of like minded, mature players that enjoy the game for what it is would play on the server. There are hardly any true vanilla servers left and still plenty of people looking for them. Regards Het
  3. Heres something, I hope you can't put tins of beans in your jean pockets? Along with other things that shouldn't fit. I mean the drinks bottle could fit or a can of coke, the water canteens not. etc
  4. Bor - one near top of page njd flux's - the barn west of myshkino
  5. You missed my point. The variables simply aren't accounted for in DayZ.
  6. My gripe is something that someone once said ... 'I use the DMR for 'close range' and a M24 for long range'
  7. Heres the other thing. Snipers require more than just point and shoot with mildots etc. This game requires no more than that. Effectively in this game you should miss 95% of the time when using a sniper.
  8. How things would be better, in my opinion, without choppers. Let's face it, 50's and choppers are all OP. The tents could be used again, especially now they can't be hidden in objects.
  9. Assuming to craft said object will be right clicking in the inventory with all required items like DayZ+ was.
  10. Might I just add, Inventory space is 12... Think again when you say 10 wood or 20 scrap  etc...
  11. Input (1Wood and 1 Scrap Metal = 1 punji. 10 punji's + camo net package = Punji Trap ) - Option to 'set' trap. Output (Punji Trap) Tools (Hatchet, Toolbox, Entrenching tool) FailChance 0 Enchantments = None ActionType = Trap, Death Trap is set 'below' the ground - Visible only by a camo'd tarp, like that of a flattened tent but better quality. (Think Stash site size/look) Player walks on, death. Trap goes, body stays. CANNOT be placed in buildings, roads, concrete etc.
  12. Input (3xWood + 1 Scrap Metal = Rotating Spit) - Has to be placed over a camp fire - Once built, fire lit, you get option to Add meat, which cooks over time) Output (Cooked Meat) Tools (Hatchet, Knife, Matches) FailChance 0 Enchantments = None ActionType =More advanced Cooking (Can also be done with + 1 tin can for boiling water) Something like this. http://s13.photobucket.com/user/stovie/media/Picture011copy.jpg.html#/user/stovie/media/Picture011copy.jpg.html?&_suid=136879189774109133206516424854 Adds fun, content, survival, time concept to cooking etc
  13. Input (Rope + Flare + Tape - Place near tree A, then 'set' at Tree B ) Output (Trip Flare) Tools (Rope, Flares, duct tape?.) FailChance 0.2 Enchantments = N/A ActionType = Survival - Place at night distract or kill. Could also make Trip Explosive using M67 or Satchel to replace flare.
  14. Aren't Heli's being removed? Edit: Or maybe that was just on a private server.
  15. But you can fire an AS-50 with ease, fix engine and fueltank parts to vehicles, not to mention fly a helicopter...
  16. So, just been playing with the ACEX_SM enabled and the rain sounds gave a really nice authentic feel to being out in the pouring rain.(unlike normally where it is just annoying) Different strengths of rain over time and other nice things like frog sounds etc. Anyway, I noticed my temperature gauge, whilst running, wasn't going down, it isn't supposed to I know. However it should. Temperature in my opinion doesn't have the effect it should in this game. If your outside in effectively a shirt with a vest over the top, and a pair of jeans, your going to get extremely wet and cold. Running or not, you will get cold quickly and can often fall ill within a few days after. Your clothes will be wet for hours if they aren't dried out, and, without going into a Ray Mears style lecture, your going to come down badly. At the minute temperature doesn't affect you whilst running around. I don't care who you are you'll get cold very quickly in the wild if you wore the clothes you wear in DayZ. So why not make body temperature, caused by changing weather conditions and player actions like going in lakes etc more of a concern to players. If you become cold and wet from the rain, your temperature will reduce quickly, and going indoors, or under heavy foliage, will be a priority, obviously giving it's cons of going near Zeds/players. Fires should increase temperature quicker, but maybe a few minutes are required to try and dry out the clothes (when the rain has stopped). This is turn makes players vulnerable. Heatpacks also shouldn't instantly warm a person up like they do currently. If you are exposed to the elements and consume something to warm the body, your clothes will still be sodden, your still going to be cold and wet. If it means your out in the sticks and it begins to rain and you have to take shelter in a tent (theres an idea), or get into a building for a bit until it calms down then so be it. Thoughts?
  17. As the title says, my opinion is that tents need changing slightly so that once placed, they stay only until your character gets killed. It will improve the game for the following reasons; * Loot farming tents practically won't exist. * Players will be far more cautious through the game as they know they have a nice amount of gear at their home. * Players will no longer be able to run back to their tent once killed to get all the same if not better gear, therefore bypassing the purpose of the game. * Players will be more protective of their possessions, may lead to more aggresive style, or more secluded style where they don't venture far. What are people's thoughts? Give me some negatives? (that aren't oh I'll lose my AS50 because I got crowbarred in the back above Electro)
