Torndeco (DayZ) replied to [email protected]'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
@Wabid Wabit Just edit your bans.txt in your battleye folder... Aadd the line ed2eb5b5ff33cb921d4c581cda32cbb2 -1 Cheating/Hacking -- Spawned AmmoBoxBig - 25/08/12 Then log into darts & click on reload bans, or type loadbans into console -
Looks like i missed the part about posting about hacker bans, in the server rules my bad... Anyway to keep things nice & organised i am gonna try & keep this thread updated, i will just bump it when i ban new hackers & edit posts etc... Have copies of logs if requested / needed etc... 06/08/12 -> 09/08/12 09/08/12 10/08/12 10/08/12 -> 11/08/12 12/08/12 14/08/12 16/08/12 -> 17/08/12 17/08/12 -> 18/08/12 18/08/12 19/08/12 -> 20/08/12 Continued @ http://dayzmod.com/forum/index.php?/topic/68606-us819-lu195-banned-list/#entry739995

DE 144 - Hacker Banlist
Torndeco (DayZ) replied to [email protected]'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
I just noticed the forum mod has edited his intial post, It now says to remove the IP addresses as there open to abuse & he/she doesnt mention to remove GUID's anymore... So this debate is over for me So i am gonna i go edit my thread for my banlist and remove all ip addresses mentioned in log excerpts... Anyway peace -
http://code.google.com/p/dayz-community-banlist/issues/list Just submit a new issue ticket , CBL maintains the ban-list themselves They add it to thier own internal database that auto adds GUID's to a banlist based on how many times they get caught, by who + what scripts they were running. Personnally i used to maintain a ban-list & cross post them into CBL aswell. Also apparently we arent allowed to post IP anymore so u prob should edit them out

There is no harm in a small debate over this issue, as it effects admins & how we deal with hackers & banning people. Nickname = public info IP = public info GUID info = is the only way for admins to ban players So we agree its not in the rules, so then i am questioning why the forums moderators are at odds with the server hosting rules. Am i required to make a post saying i banned Player X, here are some edited logs / proof But without the GUID/IP, it could be anyone and most the time the scripts they run are the v.same things... Do i need to make these posts for every ban i do from now on ? U see without the unique identifers the information in the post is completely useless to every single person. If this is gonna stay like this the server hosting rules about server bans needs to be updated. Otherwise people will flat out ignore it It could be changed to require us to keep backups of logs incase of someone making a ban appeal & then it would start to make sense again. And then rest of us admins will just go and post our GUID's somewhere else... edit:- Noticed my previous post was missing alot of text for some reason. Anyway its back now had to select edit the post & the missing text just reappeared -

There is/was no written rule saying server admins cant post GUID / IP info on hackers end of story. Find me a quote on saying this is a rule , and not a recent change of minds from our forum moderators.... edit:- http://dayzmod.com/f...anned-list/my banlist never got any complaints about it. sure u wont like it U are basicly saying forum admins cant share a public banlists & dayz community ban-list is broken because its complete public info, incase scripters get a hold of the GUID info... If u want to fix GUID spoofing, complain to BI studios / Battleye Then get battleye does do 2 tier authorization with a central server, or go play another game till standalone i.e key 1 = player id key 2 = dynamic verfication code from battleye central server To prevent hackers from spoofing GUID's So bascily its admin abuse for us to work together to ban known cheaters from our servers, before they get a chance to wreck havoc.... Without the public lists, hackers could get banned on 1 server, jump to the next server & not worry about that ban. I mean there is like 4300+ servers, without public banlists, hackers would never need to spoof GUID info Private hives here we come -

Torndeco (DayZ) replied to [email protected]'s topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
1) Admins are required by server rules to post about bans a) So what now we post i banned player Bob because he ran such & such a script.... why the fck would i bother now ? There is no unique id in the logs for Bob, he could be anyone, no way for dayz staff or any other admin to ban him, without asking for the complete logs.... 2) DayZ Staff atm, rarely ban anyone, it is left to server admins & battleye banning for people running bypasses it detects.. a) Last i check dayz staff dont ask admins for logs of cheaters B) I highly doubt dayz staff are gonna start looking at log entries wondering if they are faked, comparing them to hive data logs of logins etc... I mean its not like the hive is under pressure atm, so much spare cpu i/o power it gives us leadership boards & u want them to monitor hacking now ? c_) Also they arent gonna waste time & resources on setting a system up with a standalone around the corner that will solve alot of the current issues inregard to people scripting 3) Are u gonna request that dayz-community-banlist gets taken down aswell ? All those public ip address & GUID's quick time to grab the pitchforks, everything must burn Its not like dayz-community-banlist, ever did anything for our community i.e the new updated scripts.txt etc 4) Your ip address isnt private data, its just a fcking address If u get denial of service attack, u cycle your ip address. If thats impossible u talk to your isp & involve law enforcement if necceasry. If this is unacceptable to u, then u shouldnt play a game where a 12 year old kid with daddy's credit card can rent a server for 25 us dollars & get your GUID & IP address period. This 12 year old kid now has all the IP / GUID's he wants. How many unique players u think his server could get over 30 day period. 5) All u are gonna accomplish to hand tie the server admins, and we are just gonna post the GUID / IP's elsewhere. Even if its a private forum, some scripter / hacker will rent a server to get access to the private forums. Scrape up all the GUID's / IP's, keep afew for himself & post the rest on a hacking forums. Only takes 1 individual todo this 6) In essense u turned this sub-forum into a blackhole for admins, whenever we ban someone u ask us to u ask us to post info here that is completely useless, And hackers still have ability to get GUID's cheaper than buying another copy of arma2 oa... Come back when dayz forum support have got a chance to talk together & made up new server hosting rules inregards to posting about banning, ok thx bye now -
Just a little help please
Torndeco (DayZ) replied to ubikPainKiller's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Since its a managed server slots, u cant install any 3rd party software on it i.e dayz-anti-hax / bec All u can do is keep your scripts.txt / remoteexec.txt / createvehicle.txt updated. Have a look @ http://code.google.com/p/dayz-community-banlist/source/list Just remember to check it ever few days for changes / updates... Then u just need to keep a watch on the battleye / server logs & ban hackers, might seem alot at first but u get the hang of it. -

Rampant hackers on HFB servers
Torndeco (DayZ) replied to PimpinSmurf's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Have a HFB & vilayer server, i ban people the same way on both servers... Generally ftp into the server (ftp connection are located above the Stop / Restart controls, password + username = same as webpage controls) U can then download the logs, find the hacker, add them to the bans.txt. Then using bercon / dart log into server & issue the command loadbans. -
Also if u want join US819 when u are testing to join a server. If u get kicked post back here your ingame nickname + look up the server logs & see if it mentions why u are getting kicked

Confirmed Scripters in logs. Who do I contact to get them banned?
Torndeco (DayZ) replied to Donkamints's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Look @ dayz-community-banlist & people complaining about beening banned, who are u meant to believe the victim or the admin... So u want the dayz team, to verify every log handed to them, and compare it to any extra recorded hive data which is has problems at times keeping up with player demand... As it stands just ban them from your server, make a post on forums. Get to know some admins + they might copy your banlist aswell, and just wait for the standalone to reduce how easy it is to script weapons... And be happy u can play on a server u know has decent admin, versus players playing russian roulette looking for a server with active admins edit:- forgot to mention theres a sub-forum for reporting cheaters & below is from admin hosting rules -
Admin Server Log In Script restriction # 62 Error
Torndeco (DayZ) replied to Wabid Wabit's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Nice to see u got it sorted out. Btw u do have ftp access to the server with hfb, u are just limited access to certain files. But unlike the file manager u are able to delete / upload the scripts.txt etc directly without needed to edit them.. Also its alot faster downloading / uploading the logs etc via ftp ------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------- FTP connection info is above the Stop / Restart controls for the server. Username & password is the same u use for webpage admin controls... -
Dont have altitude server, but did u find your battleye folder ? Create the file beserver.cfg in your BattlEye folder... Its just a textfile so use notepad etc to make it up RConPassword 1234 MaxPing 400 Once u have uploaded the file into your BattlEye folder, restart your server. Now check your battleye folder and u should see a new file called BEServer_active_????.cfg (????=random number) If u open the file u will notice its a copy of beserver.cfg. Now this part is optional but recommended U should now delete beserver.cfg, u do this to prevent scripters / hackers from trying to download the settings file for your rconpassword.... Anytime in the future u want to alter the settings u can just edit BEServer_active_????.cfg & restart the server. Link in my signature to battleye filters u might aswell update those 3 files while u are at it
-
edit \cfgdayz\BattlEye\BEServer_active_XXXX.cfg U can also add your rcon password while u editing the file aswell RConPassword 1234 MaxPing 400 Then restart your server & u should be good

Torndeco (DayZ) replied to Matthias1987's topic in Mod Servers & Private Hives
Update all 3 files in the link i.e scripts.txt remoteexec.txt creatvehicle.txt Anyway yep he/she is your hacker _TheRED_[RUS] (217.118.90.26:14092) d6172da6f98a551583729c253f3409da So edit your bans.txt, format of line is the following GUID TIMEFRAME REASON -1 for timeframe = forever d6172da6f98a551583729c253f3409da -1 TheRed -- Teleporting 26/08/12 Log in via rcon after altering the file & use the command loadbans, or u can just restart the server. Dont forget to backup logs & make a post about the ban. Incase someone complains u have logs as proof & according to admin server rules u need to make post about the ban. Pretty sure not everyone bothers to make a post but only takes a minute or 2. I keep it all in 1 thread i.e US819 + LU195 Banned List - Cheat Reporting - Day Z Forums theres afew other examples of hackers i caught in the logs there if u want to have a look
