Both servers are updated to Vilayer Lingor 1.0 U will need the latest beta patch available with dayz-commander aswell 97771 -

Tiny bit of work intially to setup, but v.nice There are others in stickied threads @ http://www.tunngle.n...ned-operations/ ------- ------- If u are only interested in a single server, go managed if u like. Vilayer got the biggest public private hive atm. But i believe there are some other managed servers that also run dayz anti-hax (1 thing vilayer is missing atm), worth looking at. If u are anyway inclined to mess with code < i.e random number of crash sites & different types > or want more features <database backups> or more than 1 server. Want a server running smoothly that doesnt need as many restarts when it gets busy Your best bet is to go look @ at some vps / dedicated server setups. -

This are other links i found buried in this thread somewhere for BAF classnames.. i.e http://bafdom.myfree..._o_t__t_39.html As for what is allowing in DayZ, extract the pbo's and use an app called unrap on the config.bins Then look in the dayz code using search & find to see what is allowed ingame.... The links are for info... U then compare to dayz code and make up a list This is my current list for lingor i.e http://code.google.c...variableval.txt Got most of it done atm, still got some crap to get blacklisted.... All i did was point to some info, what u do with the info is up to u edit:- Anyway it only takes 1 person with some freetime to make up the a complete list -

U press shift-p for admin panel so u would get kicked by battleye script restrictions ? Straight after u (and maybe everyone else on server) gets teleported.... So lets assume u arent a hacker.. Admin sees u getting kicked for trying to use admin panel after a hacker teleports the server Admin either assumes u were the hacker that teleported server & tried to run an old script u found via the admin panel. Or he sees 2 hackers in the logs (u and the hacker that teleported the server) @ the same time. And assumes u 2 are friends that decided to mess up the server I really dont see u getting unbanned from the server.... -

New custom crashsites added to the server.... Currently working on adding zombies to the crashsites... Also server finally does hourly backups... will prob increase that to ever 30 mins tomorrow... 2 Heli crashes today + 1 heli versus another heli fight today.... apparently someone recorded it Always looking for more regulars... -

Alright.... New crash sites are added to the server... Still needs some work i.e add zombies to the new crash sites & custom loot tables Also new random chance starting loadouts have been added... Anyone got suggestions for loadouts ? 1st Server only started about 24 hours ago. 2nd Server only started about 12 hours ago Only difference between them is the timezones. 1st = GMT 2nd = GMT+12 Will make a post when i get the random start loadout added in. -

The idea is when u spawn instead of the same starting gear each time... There is a chance of a different set loadouts i.e Huntsman loadout 5%, hunting rifle cz (rare in lingor anyways), hunting knife Camper loadout 5% map + compass + water bottle Woodsman 5% hatchet + water bottle Default loadout 85% Note just came up with the above loadouts... so the % chance + loadout are still up for getting changed... Also like the thoughts of a different player skin for the loadouts if possible aswell (assuming they fit the role) -------------------- -------------------- Have already found examples of server side code for v.similar job. Just need to change it so instead of completely random there is a % chance. Am hoping to have it done at the latest by thursday, work+rl etc... :( note:- Server Vehicle spawns reduced to 50 for now, atleast till i get to add in more spawn locations + different vehicles -
How do i check the logs on Vilayer?

Game Services -> File Manager -> Vilayer[insert_map] -> Battleye Or use an external ftp client to download the logs with Ftp connection details are @ Game Services -> Service Information above the stop & restart buttons are your FTP ip address & port The username / password is the same as the one for the acp.vilayer.com u are using. Since u are using vilayer recommend u have the Battleye Scripts Auto Updater installed. Note when u are checking the logs recommend u delete them, u can nuke the battleye logs while the server is running. If u want make a backup copy first. This way next time u look @ logs, u wont be looking at same entries, and helps keeps the log file to a nice small size ----------------- ----------------- As for find out what the entries mean in the files, u should strip out the IP & GUID info outof the logs. Then make a post them in the forums here asking if its a hacker or not.. Or if u want send a pm to me... Also u could have a look @ http://code.google.com/p/dayz-community-banlist/issues/list to see some examples Note always have a look at all the log files especially remoteexec.log, incase a hacker got an innocent player computer to spawn a heli... --------------------------- --------------------------- Once u get the hang of looking at logs for hackers... U should consider removing the vilayer mod to update battleye filters... And update the files yourself via ftp. Vilayer had some issues with bugs relating to there 2 new maps. And more than likely they have been swamped with support tickets... So it is prob just bad timing.... Had my server location changed 2 times now & from public -> hive, reinstalled a new instance id due to a hacker. And had a coding bug in my admin acp fixed, in under 5 days. With feedback atleast once a day asking me to check if it was sorted out. Also asked for their battleye auto-update to be optional, which it is now :) So personnally i think there support is v.good... U can try to contact them via their teamspeak aswell Whats up with the server anyway ? -

Make sure your battleye filters are upto date http://code.google.c...se/#git/filters No point linking copy / pasting file-names & little icons of delete / preferences / open file. U should have mentioned who is hosting your server, as it sounds like they have there own custom logging setup with log rotation going on there. Also last dayz census noone here is pyshic & can tell u what is in them.... So next time u show people the actually log files & strip away the GUID & IP info in them. And learn some patience & lost the attitude or no-one is gonna help u out... -
Chernarus vs Lingor - ROUND 1 FIGHT!

Lingor myself... Chernarus is nice map, but i think its a major fault is the fact u cant enter most buildings i.e the small towns aren't really worth checking out. Unless u are stuck for food U end up sneaking around a small town looking @ doorsteps to see if anything spawned, hoping a zombies don't spot u. While lingor has it bugs, i prefer the fact of nearly all buildings u can enter. Also makes it alot harder to guess where a person might be, even when u hear gunshots in a direction u cant be sure which building they might be at / near Also shoulder mounted flashlights (while buggy at times) is v.nice + no nv with dmr's is also a plus in my book. -

If i were u just change the horns to log only i.e 1 or u could just comment it out. Would be nice to see a log extract if someone has one for when someone got kicked kicked after pressing escape, while in a vehicle. -
Didnt know about server hosting rules changes in regards to side chat.... if its true its v.nice to hear. ------------------------------- ------------------------------- I never said buy another server.... U mentioned edit the mission files so i assumed u got full access i.e a dedicated server or vps one. So u could just use the same machine till its all setup. I went from 2 offical servers (had anywhere from 4-8 hackers a day) down to 1 private server (i am lucky to see 1 hacker in the logs a day now). As for hackers they are everywhere, and it only takes 1 hacker to mess up a server. Imagine a hacker that goes & deploys 50 barbed wire + 50 sandbags + 50 tank traps in 1 town. And then saves all the vehicles randomly elsewhere. And goes & emptys all the tents + saves them ------------------------- ------------------------- Offical servers have rules + restrictions for admins... Private servers have zero rules + restrictions for admins... Whichever u choose u will need to learn to update (+custom them aswell i.e kick aggressive for publicvariables) battleye filters, ban hackers. Curse the hackers that have a bypass + blatently kill players while admin is online.... None of this will change atleast not until the standalone is released

Honestly the rant u turn on sidechat is stupid really... It will get u blacklisted your server, and when that happens your server wont start up without a hive. So whats the point ? Sounds like u got access to a dedicated server, since u can edit the mission files... So just go the private hive route, u will have access to the db & files and ability to change alot more... i.e do periodic database backups & do rollbacks after a bad hacker attack etc.. U can also play around with mission files / side chat=on / default player skins / starting gear / different vehicles / different maps etc... There are also people toying with random chance of parachute spawning for new players, and messing with heli spawn loot tables etc... So just start reading up @ tunngle forums about the different private hives.... and research which one u want.

If server been up for awhile or v.busy might get long loading times. Don't forget to setup schedule server restarts. U can setup 4 daily restarts with vilayer... But i don't really get long loading times anymore, as there is alot more servers up now. Also i am running the lingor map -

Just edit the difficult setting u are using in your arma2oaprofile & change vonID=1 Note everytime u re-install the mod after server update. U will need togo back & edit the file again -

Had 4-5 days with zero ftp access altogether had to use the annoying web interface, due to a bug in ACP. But it got sorted out in the end & all is good. Been with vilayer for 4months + thats been the only real issue i had with them. There first answer might have worded badly, but alteast they told u an alternative way to retrieve the banlist till the problem gets sorted out. They are normally good support, they prob been busy due to issues with private servers & people not been able to login. So unless u are going to go dedicated server in the future, i would just ask for an update to your access problems. And give them a chance to get it sorted out -

Dont forget to log into server via rcon loadevents To get it to reload the file, or restart the server If u want add the following either line to file to test it out Will just log the players with either jack daniels or painkillers on them 1 "\"TrashJackDaniels\"" 1 "\"ItemPainkiller\"" Once u are happy it works, u can remove the line & loadevents again. After that, its just a matter of looking for typos in the file edit:- Hope u updated your files @ http://code.google.c...se/#git/filters There are afew new filter files for battleye lately -

U never mentioned which private hive u are using ? Or if u are using a managed private server i.e like the ones from hfb / vilayer.... Have to say love this new feature, have noticed alot of people getting kicked now for silenced uzi, as50 tws etc.... Anyway was thinking it would be nice if we came up with an abbreviated way to show that we have this running on the server.. Atm i got "Blacklisted Illegit Weapons/Items" in the server name, but that is atad long winded.... That way players can jump into a server, knowing they shouldn't get shot by a snipers with an as50 tws etc
