Nothing changed its just not steam anymore, not exactly a big deal its still free... Or u could always fork out the extra money on arma2 for the higher res textures. -

@num3nx Its someone that turned into a seagull, it can be cause by a dayz loading bug. He/She gets kicked from server when it happens so all good. So dont ban, and plz remove his guid & ip address aswell thx -

@KField86 Not 100% sure myself but if u look @ http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?138736-Introducing-Server-side-Event-Logging-Blocking&p=2207055#post2207055 There are examples of cheaters in remoteexec.log @ the very bottom of the first post & it shows that code as an example of a cheater. If i had to guess it makes a certain player invisible to other players but i could be wrong about that... -

Was following the topic aswell myself.. Last reply was from disorder @ 6:11am [utc +1], When i logged in this morning about 8:15 [utc +1], the topic was missing. Got an update @ 13:02pm utc time about new reply "Hidden & moved until further notice", i assume thats when boneboys found the thread.

@ Scavenger The sound effects & custom player skin != cheating, its a server option & is part of arma2. Turn it off & delete the files & restart the server and u are good. -

The custom player skins is a feature of arma2 u need to edit arma2.cfg and look for MaxCustomFileSize Just remove the option & restart the server As for the files createvehicle.txt / remoteexec.txt / scripts.txt they go into cfgdayz\Battleye folder... If u update above u either reboot or log into rcon & loadbans loadscripts loadevents -

Last i checked dayz server files comes with default battleye scripts.txt files to log & kick people for hacking... Without these files battleye would allow u to run any script u wanted. Therefore u can assume rocket wants people to look @ logs for hackers. The screenshots / videos are for non-admin i.e players that mention hackers etc... no point someone complaining about hackers if its just your word Admin posts here because its the server rules to post about bans... If u dont like it then dont look in this sub-forum, because every active admin looks @ logs and bans people for scripting / hacking. And the new features are a nice improvement -

Battleye logs not being used.

Player logs onto server. Player is banned reason is Hacking/Cheating i.e more than likely a local ban Player logs into server Player is banned reason is W 4d9b2182 0x0f44d938 i.e dayz-community-banlist Was just tryin to point out to people how to know & check if they are on banlist. And to help avoid more tickets of people asking why they were banned & reduce the workload for the people that maintain the list. Think we both got onto 2 different wavelengths there. Anyway i stop now & nice work with the list.

Yep i know, i was throwing down a quick suggestion for people to see if they are on the banlist. Since people seem to be getting confused over local server bans & the dayz-community-banlist i.e 4 people so far, that raised a issue @ http://code.google.com/p/dayz-community-banlist/issues/list and they arent on the list. Plus the internal code for the ban reason is a nice way to know ban came from dayz-community-banlist. Might be worth pointing that out abit more in first post Either way love the concept & already using the list on my servers B)

If u think / wonder if u are on the ban list, might aswell just double check first... First u should see something like the following as your ban reason W 4d9b2182 0x0f44d938 Then have a quick look @ http://code.google.c...e/bans/bans.txt and do a quick search for your GUID to make sure u are on the list. edit:- I noticed some people are asking why they are on the list, when they arent on the dayz-community-banlist

Well vote option says run by dayz staff, i missed the post were jens clarified it wasnt offical. Not everyone is gonna read the whole thread completely :P But if jens wants to take a backseat role, and was just offering the use of a spare forums he got lying around... Its really is up to the guys that are gonna run this private forums what they want to use So why is there a vote ???

Well integration wise if its run by dayz staff at the top of my head. Easier to maintain who should have access i.e current owners of server that have gotten an instance id. No worrys about someone signing up once & having to prune them from the access from forums after server goes dead / blacklisted The possibility of in the future adding a webpage feature were people can lookup directly server info / contact info and request ban appeals, since atm u need to check the forums or wait for mail from dayz support asking wtf Maybe dayz adding in backend support for managed slot servers i.e add ability for sub-admin user sub-admin username = instance_id sub-admin = random password If instance_id changes hands just make it an requirement of hosting providers to apply for a new random-password As sub-admin limited access to forums i.e battleye scripts.txt & bans etc... Anyway just my 2 cents edit:- Anyway sure there's more things people can think about can automate via access to dayz backend's in the future. wiki access rights for editing i.e server info / user_database / server_database .

I think u are slightly confused if u want ftp into server & copy the config files... But they are just the configuration files for starting your server & settings.. All of the tents / vechs / barbed wire etc are saved on the hive server, so all u do is restart the server. If u are using a managed server i.e with the likes of hfb / vilayer & others... Look into setting up a scheduled restart & add the time into the MOTD for your server. There is an issue atm where tents / vechs are not saving with most/all servers, but there is nothing u can do about it. Also if u are doing an unschedule restart is nice via a rcon tool to log into the server & send a msg giving a warning to players about restart & to remind them to save vechs & tents

How to properly reset vehicle spawns?

Vehicles should despawn if not used after 7 days... As for the rest i believe u are stuck with them, as they will reappear at server restarts -
Have readup @ http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?138736-Introducing-Server-side-Event-Logging-Blocking&p=2207055#post2207055 so nice new features etc... already caught a person tryin to run scripts on another client :) But anyway trying to wrap my heads around logging in createvehicle.log, does this always catch game scripts aswell i.e character skin / backpack when u login / new char ??? also seeing medboxs & wire_cat1 etc.... Do i need to lookup the timestamp & compare entries with scripts.txt to see what is going on all the time or can i assume once its not a player skin / backpack its someone hacking ? thx
