You can't log out on the island. it's considered to be an off-map area and you will be teleported off. It's kinds poop but stops people from farming it by living on the island. Also, make sure you start your visit after a server restart to avoid a mid-raid shutdown. Origins atm has few instructions and tutorials on their Gamer's Platoon site. They could use a beginner's guide explaining the mod. Then again, DayZ could use one too. It would preventa lot of unneccessary forum threads. GL on your next attempt

Excellent post.What's interesting is how they both perform as they should in RL. And this is what I appreciate about DayZ. I own both an Enfield and a big-bore lever (Marlin, not Winchester but the stats are similar). I use the marlin as a "brush-buster". It's shorter, quicker handling, and wil cut through most saplings when hunting for deer. It'll also stop a vengeful bear which is a good possibility where I live. I take the enfield into tree stands or when hunting open woods or fields. I did mount a scope on it. Anyway, very happy to finally see a game that has weapons that instinctively behave like their RL counterparts. And thanks Gews.

Why is it that all the guys claiming they're getting "banned for no reason" seem to be new to the forum? Has any long-term contributing member here ever been banned for no reason? Is any of this even remotely legit? If Steak and Potatoes suddenly started a thread, I might believe it but coming from these guys, I just don't buy accidental global bans are possible. (I realize the admin bans are another animal altogether). Thoughts?

I'mall for old, decommissioned WW2 era guns.Most modern assault rifles found should, in the SA, be low on ammo (which is why those soldiers likely died). They should come with mags with very few rounds left in them. So you'll have to decide whether you want the weathered hunting rifle with a full box of cartridges , or an automatic rifle with half a mag you managed to scavenge. -

I had the same problem. Screw expensive 7.1 headphones. Ridiculously overpriced. Get yourself a $20 soundcard. It DOES make a difference. I no longer dance in circles to tell where shots/helis are coming from (even with a shity $20 chinese headset) Onboard audio sucks and I had no idea how much until I started playing DayZ.

The duping does sadden me.I find itdisheartening to find tents loaded with obviously illbegotten goods, while the most I ever seem to find is an AK variant. I've been playing legit for over a year and have only once found an AS50 at a crash site. Anyway, the best tent loot was one where I just couldn't get to a tent under a tree. No matter where I looked I couldn't access it. Found an URAL nearby, knocked that big 'ol bastard of a tree down but the tent still stood and I got meself a coyote pack + a bunch of other supplies. -

Good, constructive post from OP. Well done. Definitely worth considering. I can forsee this enriching the game experience and encouraging interaction. SOME sort of skill, or character development, whether a passive, menu-free thing or some other variation of your plan needs to be in SA. -
Hi. Yes, this computer is not a gaming machine. It's like drag racing with your mom's minivan. Here's your cheapest fix: - get a new FCLG1155 processor (to fit your current motherboard socket - I suggest an i5-3330 Quad core, under $200) - Get a video card: Hopefully your case will fit a full-sized card. Something in the $130 range should get you a good starting card. GTX 650 Ti, Radeon HD 7770 or 7790. - A new power supply. 500W will be sufficient (no less) -$50 Good luck

How about, you can't regain full health after getting shot, unless you get this done. So after a battle, you'd get shot (a few times is OK to allow some playability) and your max health would be capped at 80% unless you get to a campfire, with a tin can, some water (to sterilize the kit), then you use the medical kit (on yourself or on someone else?) add on a bandage and you can get back to 100%. I like this surgical kit idea.

I open to all sorts of ideas. A more complicated system but it should make medical issues more serious, in that they can't be solved easily with a quick bloodbag or just by eating some wabbit. Anything that encourages a bit of interaction, and lessens the KOS mentality, without being totally detrimental to the lone wolf (me) would be great. -
I have been seeing people getting kicked for this the last day or two on my Origins server. Not sure what it is. Hopefully Papa Duck's suggestion will help^.

HD 6970 8-10 FPS (city) 15-20 (open field) what wrong?

I run a radeon HD 6850 paired with an i5 2500K and 4GB of RAM. So worse Vid card, but better CPU. I get 60 FPS in the woods/fields (always) and pretty much 42+ FPS in cities. At rare times that can dip into the high 30s. I'd say your CPU needs overclocking or upgrading. -

Sadly, ^ he is correct. You might try to sell that think for a couple of hundred bucks to a non-gamer, and add another few hundred, and you can get yourself a decent starter gaming rig. GL. -
3 admins who were cheating, checking player positions. I got lucky and moved up on them fast, kamikaze style. They had taken cover watching where I had come from just a few seconds ago, but I got in among them from the flank and started spraying my AK74 all around me like I was possessed by gyrating vermin. They died in turn, but one promptly teleported back to me and finished me as I was destroying their vehicles.
