    Just find another server. There are many to choose from. Find one that's whitelisted and hopefully hacker-free.

    Whats the point in repairing vehicles....

    This is what I currently dislike about the server system.Nothing is consistent. Admins are running all kinds of mods, and you never know if a server has been abandoned or not restarted for ages. Frustrating. I tend to stick to 2 good private hives I'm familiar with.I suggest you look for a better server too.

    How will servers be handled in SA?

    It's a question that's been discussed but not lately so I'll throw my two cents in. I'm worried about Admin abuse. Not sure how this will be avoided. Perhaps by really limiting and locking down a server admin access? How long before there's a toolkit for modding servers again though? I have a feeling the game will eventually return to the way things currently run with the mod. A mix of Private/Official servers.

    tutorial suggestion for STANDALONE

    The game is also not supposed to be a frustrating rubick's cube of doom for beginners. An Optional tutorial (A la bootcamp) is a very good idea

    Stop complaining. in the early days of DayZ, we had to tap 'w' for each step we took. Sprinting across the map made your fingers bleed*. *This statement might not be factual.

    Input - scrap metal, chain, lock Output - Car wheel or transmission lock Tools - toolbox Fail chance - 10% Enhancement - Vehicles locked in this way can't be driven. They can still be looted. Need bolt cutters to remove (except for the person who put the lock on)

    Input - White rag, spray paint + Humanity over 5k Output - Medic flag or armband Tools - knife Fail chance - 0 Enhancement - A visible armband identifying you as a non-aggressive player. It does make you stand out though

    Cars should break not explode

    I dare not drive a car with less than 80% engine for fear of explosion. This has got to stop in SA, but it's something we've all learned to live with.
  15. I would allow the wind to have an effect on shots though. Just to weed out the skilled from the unskilled sniper.

  18. I don't think June was ever formally announced as a release date.In fact there has never been a set date. I would be very surprised if anything appears that early. Go ahead and get the mod.It's tons of entertainment value for the money.

    Crafting Discussion only

    Crafting is good. Let's roll with it. But not weapon attachments...other than 2L soda-bottle silencers. There's absolutely no way a survivor can manufacture a sight that would be better than using the existing iron-sights on a gun. By any stretch of the imagination (unless of course you're Gews...see above) Make weapon attachments rare on certain guns, or just make them require batteries (red dots, holos) Instead, let's go ahead and put in the Origins-style shelters that can't be destroyed. I don't even mind if they're smaller and don't let you regain health when sleeping (unless you log out inside one).

    What happened to my DayZ?!

    Check your filters again. Do you have wrong Arma and Dayz versions filtered as well? Make sure all your files are up to date. You should be seeing servers.
  22. Good story. I once tagged along also. Hung out at admin camp, took a chopper, then got banned as soon as I landed. Good strategy.
  23. So the question of realism rears its head with just about any suggestion/idea thread. One thing that's not often talked about it possible solutions to the big-item (car parts) problem. Allow me to illustrate: Anyone have any good ideas? Some off the top of my head: 1 - only one large item can be carried at a time 2 - you need to have a dolly (cart...not a girl's toy) in your tool set to carry multiple large items (max 3)? 3 - The engine block model and item icon needs to be replaced with a smaller engine part (distributor cap?) No survivor would lug around, hoist and install a full engine block. Maybe add 2 smaller parts to replace the one big engine block. So a car battery plus a distributor cap and spark plugs? 4 - Add your own suggestion here! PS. If you have a hilarious caption for this photo, feel free to add one.

    Backpack solution for big items?

    I vote to get rid of glass. It's simply not a DIY job. Whether a car has one really won't change things too much. Bullets will still penetrate. Instead, add car batteries (2 spaces should still be fine). A bit more realistic anyway, and a top reason that cars left sitting would not start Then, simply swap out the engine block model with a set of small car parts, And while we're at it, change out the fuel tank to a fuel pump. Ta-da!, some small cosmetic icon/model changes and the system can stay as is.

    Melee combat

    ^ Chivalry is an excellent timesink.The combat is quite fun. All about timing and feints - and the quick parry/counter of course. I'm rank 28. Don't see how this can at all relate to DayZ though.
