As McCullins pointed out, be sure to disable any programs that access the internet in the background. Especially video streaming and torrent downloads/uploads. Also, this could be a stupid and obvious suggestion, but use DayZ commander and select a server from the list that shows a low ping (far right number). You should be OK with anything under 100ms. There's a server filter in DayZ commander too. If you suspect you have a shitier connection than what you're paying for, call your ISP and complain, or ask for help. I wasted weeks troubleshooting network issues before I finally called, to have a cable guy tell me I had a bad line filter outside. Quick swap and all was better. GL

Most guns have a picatinny or weaver style scope rings and bases. They're pretty interchangeable,and sometimes tool-less. But, every time you put a new sight on a gun (or even remount a scope you had on a gun before) you'll need to hit the range and do some adjusting/calibrating to get the bullet where you're looking. I have to sight my slug gun in every year when I put the red-dot sight on, turning a duck gun into a deer slugger. Usually I can get it on target again without too much trouble but a completely new scope could be totally out of whack. I've shot as much as 30-40 rounds just to get a new one consistently on target. And that was after a quick laser bore-sighting. Overall though, I don't think scope-swapping is a practical thing for this game. Maybe the option to remove one would be ok, or taping on flashlights is fine.

Ya.I find a new way to die every now and then. Lasttime, I was vaulting into one of those log-style residential cottages. This one had a raised entrance so I had to vault to get in. Legs disappear, broken bones, passed out, 2 zeds seemed to insta-teleport to me and chew my face off (there were no Zed's around before I got hurt). Oh well, I enjoy starting anew. It really doesn't bother me much any more.

Rocket buys bling and enjoys pina coladas on a beach somewhere. DayZ is consequently revived in 6 sequals, each with increasingly impressive visuals and focus on fast-paced PVP. I ran a test a little while ago, showing how much bandwidth DayZ uses. It's a hungry boy. That could be your issue. Also, make sure you're not seeding any torrents, or running anything else. And check that your neighbour (or whomever is sharing your network) isn't catching up on the latest Bieber video tweets either. Check out my tests. While I enjoy the idea of NPCs, my experience playing ARMA tends to indicate that AI is mindless, but can spot you like an eagle and can drive a tack at 500 yards with an ak while running. Also, if you could edit videos down to the more pertinent parts, that'd be appreciated. I watched 5 minutes of driving, then gave up.

Not sure if this helps but I read a lot of the FPS issue posts. Most issues (if not all) seem to come from people with Nvidia cards. There is the possibility that these cards do not like ARMA/DayZ? I run 40-60FPS on an i5 2500K, with a radeon HD 6850, which is a worse card.

I was once logging at the end of my night, and a fraction of a second before I hit the "disconnect" button, I was shot in the head by an unseen sniper. Probably didn't look good on me, even though I've never combat logged. Guess they didn't get my body.

This correction should be added to the next patch. Also, give tents a larger access "radius" so we can actually open them when well hidden under a tree.

Or, just make canteens able to give you 3 drinks. Then this item becomes unnecessary.
