not really. any semi auto that i've shot will fire just as fast as you can pull the trigger. there's also full auto pistols which shoot faster than all hell. the mechanism of a semi auto doesn't affect it's fire rate unless you're pulling the trigger at superhuman speed. +1 for this, would be cool to see in game.

i was thinking the same thing. maybe adding features to the mod that are in the standalone if possible with the arma 2 engine.

pretty sure it's a double action; you pull the trigger, the hammer pulls back, and the gun fires all in one motion. i think the idea of the slow fire rate is to even out it's power. generally speaking, it's harder to shoot in quick succession with a revolver than a semi auto anyway.

i was originally gonna buy a dvd retail version, but no stores nearby had it, so steam was the next best option.

the only thing i would add out of what you've said is a trading system. punishing people for playing the game is dumb and always will be.

i'd be happy to buy a standalone dayz game. i bought arma 2 mainly to play dayz but i'd still pay for an actual dayz game. idk what everyone's problem is with that. especially if they do the discount for buying it in alpha. there's no reason that it'd be free if it's a seperate game.

yeah some of the starting equipment has been updated out. weapons can be found just about anywhere, usually takes a little while to find one though. deerstands are pretty likely to have a gun and/or ammo. the weapon you'll probably find quickest is a hatchet. to use that, right click and select 'remove from toolbelt' to equip it as a weapon. best bet to find people to play with is probably here: http://dayzmod.com/f...14-survivor-hq/ for the in-game chat, use 'direct chat' to talk to other players, but that's only to people who are nearby. i don't think any more servers have 'global chat' but if they do, you can use that to talk to anyone else on the server. also, i'd watch a few youtube let's play videos to get a general grasp of the game. good luck!

way to whine and try to make fun of anyone who doesn't agree. cry moar about how you want a weapon back in the game while insulting any dissenters, i'm sure that will help. there's probably your biggest problem. it's a zombie survival game. that means it's more about zombies and survival rather than the weapons you wish you could have. also, your grammar gave me cancer. thanks.

if they made it grow by logging a certain amount of in-game time, that would be a little harder to do. a huge waste of time either way though.
