Gps doesn't work like that. The GPS works as a dual purpose Map and also tells you your exact grid on the map. It also tells you exactly where you are, if you hold right ctrl and M. You cannot put "points" on your map, other than making X's on the map or shift-clicking the map, depending on which server.

Sigh. This thread needs to be locked xD There are no radios. if you find it, it's hacked in. It doesn't give out co-ordinates. The initial post linked to tree stand locations, and said about quarantine subject escaping. Was not actually in dayz. Not coded. Just some guy with huge hoax.

Read the fucking manual. L is default key to turn on your light. Make sure it says "flashlight" in the top right hand corner. If not, press F until it says flashlight. K is the default key for compass. O is the default key for watch Hatchet is the same as the flashlight, right click, change to inventory. Puts it on your primary slot. Nobody said it because they expect you to at least read the fucking manual. Honestly.

I've noticed the amount of people disliking PvP, and the general attitude towards it. As a Survival mod, I'm shocked that people are complaining about how it's unfair/lame/terrible for other players to kill other players. If you trust everyone you meet in your life, you may gain everyone's trust. If you stay on your own, avoiding everyone you see, nobody knows you are there. If you kill everyone you see to get their things, you may find many valuable things. But if you trust everyone you meet, you will be backstabbed. But if you keep to yourself, you will only have yourself to watch your back. But if you hunt others, you may find yourself become hunted. The choices you make have consequences. For better or for worse. You may not enjoy the choices you make. But please don't come on the forums complaining about how you misplaced your trust and got yourself killed. It's a dangerous place out there. Trust is to be earned, or else you will find yourself dead. Keep that in mind before rant. Thank you, and happy hunting.

A question for the development team. Is the development team going to use other mods (notable examples, ACRE, other sound mods, any other mod not developed by the DayZ team)? Or are they going to stay pure, and develop their own things? Again, instead of using ACRE, developing their own Radio system?

If you practice, you will get better. You did not buy your first bike with hard paper route labour, only to go to the store for a refund because you can't learn how to ride it If you need help, there are pleanty of guides. The controls are NOT DIFFICULT. Just because there are a few extra buttons doesn't mean it makes it difficult. It's standard FPS controls. WASD and crouch/prone keys.

It does not provide false information, you dolt. If it cannot detect what you have, it will not tell you what you have. If it detects 1GB of ram, it will tell you that you have that. If you know in your heart that you have 2GB of ram, then so be it. CanYouRunIt is a website designed to detect your hardware without actually installing anything, and matches it up to minimum/recommended hardware specs. It does it's job well, and has never provided false information.

If you could easily shoot it off / use the crowbar to open it, what's the point in having it? Firearms are everywhere. This will make no difference, other than defending a vehicle / building against noobs without guns.

More low-tier weapons (shotguns, bolt action rifles, low-calibre rifles), more standard-Issue military weapons (AK-74M's for Russia, M16A4/M4 for US), and less Spec-Ops gear (NVGs, Thermals, .50 cal snipers) Discuss, end of discussion.

There are only two barracks buildings, and both of them are at northwest airfield. If he meant military spawns in general, it could be many different places. But the only way to find NVG's is at northwest airfield barracks buildings. Oh, and Heli Crashes.

Contrary to popular belief, rocket is not a development machine where he gives you what you want and it will always be perfect. He is a human being which is making a statement in the gaming industry. He is releasing his UNFINISHED game that he is working on, to help test it, and solve bugs as they come up as he releases major things. Patience is a virtue. The game has only been in development for about 2 months. If you want it to go faster, learn coding and help out. Otherwise, stop crying that he's lazy when he's busy working on new things.

M16 is slightly more accurate, however can't aim down sights in CQB effectively. The CCO is alright, but at range the dot is too big to be effective.

Welcome to alpha, this isn't the final product, QQ more about making yourself available for others to kill you, and get a better PC.

If he makes a standalone game, it won't be a mod. And most likely be free to play with microtransactions, or so the trend is heading towards.
