Both PCs are kinda bad to be honest. AMD is bad. Just don't go AMD. I won't go into detail, there are plenty of threads on the internet. It's not a PS4 VS Xbox1 type thing. The Intel one is an i7-4790S. S means low-power. Why the fuck would they put that on a desktop? People don't look at these types of things, but it's a big performance hit. 750 Only has 1GB GDDR5 memory. It's also only has 512 Cuda Cores. It's a huge hit versus a 760 or 770. (1152 and 1536, respectively) See how they don't show you what power supply, motherboard, memory manufacturer, hard drive manufacturer? They are going to be low-end names that are cheaper such as Hitachi, HGST, Toshiba, Foxconn, etc. I have a 3570k, EVGA 760, 12GB Memory. I can run ~medium high settings. With this setup, you might get Medium, or medium-low.

The main reason they're doing standalone is because they need to re-purpose the arma engine in order to make it run effectively with lots of zombies and loot. Arma 2 doesn't like having thousands of items and units spawned in at once. -

After that I've been going from server to server, playing with a small group of friends. They don't play DayZ as much anymore, so I'm looking for a group to join. KoS is a tactic. Would you trust a random stranger with a weapon in a survival situation, where killing you is easy and your juicy gear will make things a lot easier for him to survive? You can't trust anybody. Play with friends if you want to play with people. You can't trust a stranger with your life. The faster you understand this, the faster you will start to enjoy DayZ. -

Looks great! Are the weapon animations going to be like this in the final game? They look fairly awkward, for example @ ~4:20, when you are running backwards, you hold your weapon barrel forward, stlil able to shoot. Feels very different from Arma2, almost worse then how it already is. I understand this is all in development, but is this something that's staying? -

I feel like shotguns are not as effective in DayZ against players because in ArmA2, every "soldier" is armored, to some extent. Not exactly sure if it's modeled per side (For example, Blufor is +50% armor, Independent is +25%, and Civilian is +0%) or if it's a base-model for damage. Pellets and slugs feel awful effective against zombies, because they are classed as "Civilians". You can go into the map screen, and see a "kill count" for your player, classing zombie kills as "casualties" IIRC. A slug will kill a zombie in one hit, but not a human?

Most common military weapons should be in the game, such as M16's/AK74's/L85's as "military" weapon loot, and "Civilian" weapon loot should be handguns, assorted rifles/shotguns, etc. In almost all modern military, and in all of the biggest military, the assault rifle is the most common weapon. So loot you find in military bases should reflect that. Perhaps long range weapons would be 2nd rarest, followed by machine guns being the most rare.

IIRC There was a fix a few patches back that stopped zombies from knocking you out if you had full health.. So either you didn't have full health, or your story is slightly fabricated. Maximum timer w/ full health, 1 zombie eating you while you are unconscious, you will still be alive when you wake up, about 25%.

TBH, Pistols are pointless once you have a real gun. Ammo is so plentiful that you never really need to use a pistol. Revolver/1911 used to be good until they nerfed them. 2-3 .45 shots to kill is silly. If you try to use a sidearm in PvP you are dead before land a shot. But since you're a noob, Stick with G17 once you find it, because flashlight. Once you find a primary, use your sidearm inside cities. Makarov->M9/m1911/revolver->Glock->PDW. Get PDW once you have NVGs or primarily play during the day. M9, G17, PDW and Mp5 mags fit into the PDW, so ammo is the most plentiful. Also automatic fire is best. Don't use iron sights. M1911 is better than revolver if you use it right. Faster fire rate for 1911 is nice. Revolver is a little under 2 rounds per second, where you can empty is 1911 mag less than a second if you fire fast enough -

When it's done. That being said, I still get graphical errors in Berezino, similar to 1724. Running 1725 and latest OA beta patch, with server running both as well. Flush and restart doesn't fix. Also, don't cry about waa fake patches. Welcome to alpha, if you want to help develop the game, please send your expansive software development resume to rocket :) -

Uhm, everything? :| If you have no room/time/storage, take whatever has ammo, and that you are good with. No gun is the "Best" in dayz. All have specific roles. -

Cz550 good to clear zombies?

All these suggestions are bad lol. To answer OP question, CZ-550 Is a good scoped sniper rifle available to newbs. Its semi-rare ammo might make you run short of ammo, especially when you're "Clearing" zombies at range. Like all sniper rifles, the CZ-550 is best when used with other players. It is designed to fire at extra long ranges, and does a good job once you get used to the sight. However, it is less than useless in CQB. It has lots of damage mind you, so zombies won't require a second shot, and for players, 9 times out of 10 you won't need a second shot. That being said, the best gun for clearing zombies/killing players is the gun that you are best with. IMO, The M249 is the best at clearing zombies. A quick burst will kill 3-4 zombies, and it's low recoil mixed with the high rate of fire is awesome. Prone, there is no recoil. The MK48/M240 are good as well, however, the 100 round mags aren't as space-efficient, and I find the M249 aggros less. The 7.62 is powerful, but the recoil when not prone has gotten my enemies a few extra hits. By the way, there is no such thing as a "no PVP" server. And if you do play there, it will shortly be blacklisted :) -
Making threads won't fix the problem. The issue has been addressed by the DayZ dev team. They can take measures against it, but it is easier to fix these issues as a standalone. However, you'll find that it's in the works. It's a priority, but they aren't going to stop production of the game just because of hackers. Remember that this is an alpha, a bare-bones test. Things are being added and improved constantly, and the current systems are not being advertised as a "game". This is a test. And we are all invited to join in. At any time, rocket could just close down the hive and say the game is in closed alpha/beta. Similar to how Just Cause2 MP is doing it. My advice, don't get attached to your gear. Remember that the more you stash, the more you are willing to lose. I personally just have a small camp on the coast, and I just run around with friends finding things and killing noobs. It's great fun. I've also found a server where the admin watches the logs all the time, and when something fishy goes on, he just restarts the server. 9 times out of 10, hacker just finds a new server. By the way, this forum is also Rocket n' Friend's Development forum. Everyone here should remember that flaming and getting into useless arguments over nothing just hinders, not helps. Also, @Dazed, there is no such thing as "private hive". There is only THE hive, and DayZ won't run without proper connection to Rocket's Hive. There is no invite only, there is no password. Enjoy the blacklist.

The DayZ standalone won't be coming out tomorrow. It will take a shit ton of time, especially if they have to design their own engine. That being said, IIRC rocket said that the DayZ mod will still be a mod, and then the standalone will run parallel. This does not mean that it is dead. Everyone needs to stop posting "omg dayz is dead" threads. -

Don't spend your money on renting a bloody computer. I'm sure you can wait a week or two. That being said, It takes less than 10 seconds to look up the Minimum and Recommended requirements If it helps, I have an Intel Quad-Core Q9550 @2.83Ghz, HD4850, and 6 Gigs of ram. Also 2 HD's in Raid 0 if that means anything. But I run medium settings. -

There's only one rule about hackers. You don't talk about hackers. Everyone knows that there are hackers. Rocket and his team are doing the best they can. Crying about it and making more threads will not fix the problem any more. This thread is about as effective as "Raise cancer awareness" advertisements.
