Well what the hell is wrong with you typing first and not firing, when are you going to learn your lesson!? I'm guessing you're still new to the game so i'll give you some advice that everyone already has probably said and has already been written: Shoot anyone you see that isn't your friend. That's the way it has to be or 9 times out of 10 you're going to get killed and it's going to be your fault. If you can't shoot him/her/them and they outnumber you then RUN. Don't sit there and type "friendly?" because that a) let's them know a player is there if they hadn't noticed you and B) let's them have those few valuable seconds to aim and shoot you in the head, or they'll lie and type "Yes", then pop you in the back of the head. Other advice: If you happen to actually pal with a stranger immediately add them to steam; people are much less likely to shoot you in the back for your tasty beans if you guys are friends on steam.

Your servers are probably going to get blacklisted and removed from the hive... lol

AS50 with around 60~70 kills. Pretty decent when it comes to moving target practice.

Last time I was logged in somewhere between 60~70 murders, lots of them bandit kills.

Nah, if I must lose the gear for a major update then so be it we're all testers anyway. Eventually everyone is going to lose everything including the l33t clans that hoard every vehicle off in the boonies. Pretty sure this game is never leaving the testing phase since I think they are using arma 2 for testing ideas and they will use the arma 3 release with the new dayz on that system as the finished product.

...You realize you have about as many posts as Rocket? I hope you're getting paid to post on the forums....

And always make sure you have 10 inventory spaces plus one space per addition round before you start putting primary weapons in your backpack.

Pretty good for a first time survivor. My first time playing went more like this: Joined game, didn't know wtf to do so started running. Zombies chased me, I unloaded all my Mak clips (back when starting gear was a pistol and food), ran out of ammo, ran for 20 minutes with 20 zombies on me and got eaten eventually. Your death is inevitable though by some wretched means..

I actually like this idea, I would hire an S.S.S officer for scouting purposes. What servers you plan to do this on? My group could use this service from time to time.

What's to stop certain admins and/or clans exploiting password locked servers? Sure itll clear out the hackers, but then every other server will be password blocked and there won't be available servers for the community anymore. It's a bad idea, worse than having the hackers imo

You have to also apply the arma 2 beta patch even if you update dayz or servers will have a red x next to them.

... You're saying the same thing I'm saying in different words. Besides what I meant by "really important" is that I could wait to set up my tent once the server/patch/whatever is stable. Someone's always gotta throw in the ol' "It's alpha" comment. We know it's alpha, we know there are bugs, but it doesn't mean I'm going to not figure out a way to save my gear if possible.

So... any gear we have on a server RIGHT NOW with version 1.7.2.3 can be potentially lost again after a server updates their hive version? This is really important since I just put up a tent in a server, and I need to make sure it wont magically poof once the server updates. :(

Why are you feeling guilty man? He was sneaking up to you to kill you and take your gun since all he had was a hatchet. This happens all the time. FYI if he was friendly he would have yelled "friendly" long before you pointed a gun at his face. I don't trust anyone anymore other than my friends, and we shoot on site. Better safe than lose all my hard earned gear.

The same thing happened to me today after the patch. I had an AS50, fn fal, NVG, and then when I logged in today I logged in at the coast with starting gear, without the male/female selection though. However I didn play for like over an hour or so and after dying I logged in a new server and logged at my first previous location with all my old gear back. So maybe try dying then logging back in? Might work for you too.

So I don't know if it was an act of god or just stupid luck but I played for like over an hour with my new character, gathered up tons of newbie gear (Lee Enfield, Revolver, map, knife, etc etc) and was playing a bit recklessly since I lost my AS50, NVG, GPS... after an hour or so of playing in Cherno I got popped in the head. Lo and behold when I came back into a different server I had all my gear again at the same spot I was at last time! I have the AS50 and all previous gear at the same point I logged out originally... Anyone have similar nightmarish experience? I wonder if I log out again if i''ll lose everything again...

So I logged into a server and i have no gear and i'm spawned at the beach with starting equipment... Why does this happen anyone know? I had really good gear, AS50 NVG GPS Rangefinder FN Fal.... I just don't get it. Anyone know if it's posible to get my character back or did he just poof?
