Alright so I spent much time searching for a proper link to download the Taviana map, so far I have the 1.1.0, the 1.7.4.4, and I tried to download the 1.5 but the god damn deposite website don't show me any link after the captcha. I've never used any installer/commander/launcher thing that does all the work for you, so I'm asking if any of you guys have a download link for version 2.0 or 1.5 of the client files for a manual installation ? PS : The two first versions I have work, but I want something updated, cause I can't play on any server as the screen goes black telling me I have the wrong version.

Fucking server spawn ? Where what when WTF ?

Another day, well apparently my 7th. Went on a 17 players server, not a living soul to stalk. Decided to move on to a more crowded server... Right after login on the crowded server (35 people) I encountered a flying chopper, and then a player in a ghillie, good thing I saw him before he did. Then the minute after I followed him, being sure he went near the tower on the airstrip, zombies aggroed, I didn't think a second that the player could be near. He eventually saw me with all the zombies around, got shot on sight. DayZ we'll never be what it was when I started in may 2012.

Thx dude, well I had to buy two DLCs, the PMC and BAF one on Steam, it cost me around 14€, must be the same in $. The thing is that without them, your clothes aren't in high resolution. And I have a beast of a PC for now so I was sick of not enjoy full graphics. Oh don't worry, I know that, I was playing on a laptop before, trust me it was on the very very minimum graphics. And I'm paying 40 € a month to fully pay my comp over time so... Nothing is free, you'll get your beauty one day too :) ! Beautiful sunset over the NW Airfield. Tried to do a nice screenshot before switching to the goggles view, well then I eventually fell for some reason got unconscious, and broke a leg. A fucking luck that I had full blood and morphine, I almost died. I then spent many hours trying to find a animal to kill. So and then, on my way for some animals, I found two heli crash sites, there wasn't much, and one of them was already looted. Got really scared when I encountered this, I really thought it was another player from where I was. The night was really beautiful. Zombies out in nowhere. Loving the lighting effects. Paying respects to the gone. Got lucky finding everything I needed with the looting guide from MYDAYZ. Only one on the server, well when you play at night in a week's day on a whitelisted server, you get to have Chernarus for your own.

Clever way of keeping your heli after playing. Stalking on some looters. He really likes his car. I gotta say I'm really happy with my computer. The graphics are a insane pleasure to play with (I'm not bragging, trust me, I started on a laptop, with big ass squares leaves and such). My stuff for this character so far (got the machete, the G17 and the M16A2 after a murder in the barracks). I'm proud of my loot as I'm auto sufficient (water bottles plus meat, no need to go to the cities), but as always, I'm sure I'll lose it real quick.

So I've stopped playing DayZ for 3 months, and now that a good coworker wants to play it I'm going back in. Everything is finally set up (can't count all the shit I've been through with a reinstallation), and so I have two questions : How's hacking these particular days on Chernarus with the launch of this awful piece of coding which is The War Z, and also the new maps on DayZ ? Do you recommend on finding good hives to play on ? If yes do you know yourself a good hive with good content/admins and good restarts ?

So yeah I haven't been playing DayZ since august, I'm still a huge fan of it, I bought The War Z to have a rush once in a while, but of course as I planned it weeks ago, this game doesn't deserve the its title. It's pure shit and its devs are a complete joke, it goes without saying if you ask me. Anyway I heard that the level of hacking was alright these days, so I wanted to know about the level of KOS to armed people ? Back in May it was cooperation all the way, back in July with the success of DayZ, everybody was shooting everybody, what about now ? I would like feedback from "old"/experienced players, who saw the evolutions through the weeks. I'll bump eventually.

Hi everyone, I discovered DayZ during May, I became a true lover of its gameplay type and the way the players were acting. Everything was possible in terms of human interaction, cooperation was a deep aspect of the mod. I spent an enormous amount of hours on the game and had tons of adrenaline rushes. I've touched many high tier gear, from NVGs, Coyote & AS50 to Rangefinder, M4 SD & M107. I saw many fights, encountered many crashes, exploded many heads. I watched the community grow and change, and the mod evolve. During July, the mod became extremely successful and the community grew way too fast. More players meant bigger proportions and therefor more instant-action seekers and hackers... It was at this point that I started to be pissed and angry at the community. Playing on a crowded server (25+ players) was not about playing and evolving into Chernarus anymore it was about avoiding hackers and making no human contact at all with others. At some point I saw that spending time surviving wasn't fun at all. Hiding from everything every time is fun when you choose to play this way, but when you're forced to hide every single time, it's getting old. Looking back at all the kilometers spent on the road looking for gear, it was more about losing time. So I stopped playing. Then, today I watched a video of SideStrafe on DayZ, he does that since a very long time, good guy, good videos he does. I started to be interested again in DayZ, and came here to inform myself on the evolution of the community and the mod, well, this is impressive :lol: ... The Average Life Expectancy was at 3h30 in May During July it dropped at 15 mins if I recall correctly It evolved from 45 mins to 65 mins during August Player improvement is slow and we are a few to have experienced the joys of a very long life duration The number of Bandits Killed has raised to nearly 1 million So each of the players have killed multiple players during one of their lifes Murdering players is part of everybody's objective Hackers are everywhere and the complains on the forum are many Glitches that make the game sometimes unplayable are still here The cooperation is forever lost for random DayZ players (good for you out there that new players don't have any weapons, I know I couldn't have cooperated with some players without this), that said, players wouldn't be a problem if there weren't any hackers. Regarding my ass, right now the community is way too frustrating to continue any playing. And the graphic glitches... Man that's completely insane. Two fucking months and there's no solution to that... I miss Chernarus though, but it's really too much bad things for an alpha. PS : One day, completely hidden in a barn waiting for some guns to stop playing in electro, I heard an heli coming, completely random event, the heli started shooting at the barn, I was the only one around. Then, the heli started to lower to get a good angle at the windows and the entrances. Even with thermal, not possible to see my body even from up above, and the bastard really started to shoot at me right after getting closer to my location, as they knew I was in there from a very long distance...

Ah lord. If only we had servers where you can PvP as fuck, where PvP is the main goal, and others where repetitive PvP would be considerate as breaking rules.

So about the standalone, do anyone know any potential solution regarding the security ? I mean Battleye is weak so yeah Arma II is penetrable like a california girl after 3 mojitos, but the standalone if of course a chance for a new security. But will Rocket be great enough to come out with his own codes for Arma III or else ? Cause, don't get me wrong, DayZ is very very nice, but looking at WarZ and the way everything is far better quality and stability, isn't Rocket a bit off ?

I don't know about Lingor, but Chernarus is the true feeling guys. Plus, should I move myself because one place is crowded with bad guys and hackers ? I don't know.

Well, the glitches aren't what pisses me off of course, cause you can go around you know and yeah apparently you can fix them. But the hackers, and the murderers, this pisses me off, it's god damn bad, and DayZ was one of the few games if not the only one that was giving me much much satisfaction. I'm an angry motherfucker these days, and nothing satisfies me, but the freedom in DayZ ? Man good memories. So yeah, I'm pissed to go find awesome gear and lose it because some asshole found me I don't even know how. Don't start with the don't get attach to your gear, understand that when your only reward is taken away, again, and again, and again, that's not cool at all.

Not at all, but slight changes, yes. Between May and June, changes were much larger and it was matter of weeks at the time. I mean regarding the community and the way people were acting in a cooperation manner. But although yes, even with the cons, even with all the stuff going around I expected that in 730 hrs (one month), Rocket and his team would've have found the time to fix this god damn graphic glitch, at least.

So, today as any other day, I was running around on DayZ forums, and today more than before, I saw many many post about hacking, so I thought I could look on Google for ***s... And here I am, falling on one website, I'm not gonna give any links cause I don't want to advert this type of shit, but the dude is actually selling, a monthly hacking service, with ESPs of anything ingame, so basically you see the positions of anything in game. THE DUDE IS SELLING THIS SHIT LIKE "In the ravaged remains of Chernarus your best weapons is hacks."... I am truly devastated by this non sense. So gaming is that nowadays ? Srly ? FUCKING SRLY ? You spot a denfendless game and you hack the shit out of hit ? Man, I miss the non popular DayZ, today I was like, okay let's see the forums, eat something and go back in game, but nah. Until the next update and/or the stability/security of the mod, I'll stay away I believe. Well sir, MY VERY FIRST pair of NVGs were found on a crash site. My second on a body. I play since May 14th, the two NVGs I ever found were found during this very week. EDIT : Okay WTF now, they want to reset the HIVE ?? Srly ?? False. Go into Configuration Panel > Sound > Recording, there you have all the recording devices (microphones) connected to your PC. To verify if one does work, just blow on your mic and see if the green level bar at the right of the targeted device moves, if yes, it is well connected. Now to verify the quality of the mic, right click on the device and select properties, you will see four tabs, click on the second one which is called "listen", and check "listen this device", now hit apply or ok and you'll h ear you microphone, there should be an echo, that's normal. If the quality is okay for you, go back on properties and uncheck "listen this device".
