Should combat logging be ban-able?

I don't see a reason to ban someone, since combat logging can be prevented in game. If people try it, they'll just die, so what's the big deal. You get their loot, and they die for combat logging. I'm pretty sure the game can also tell the difference between force closing and internet loss, but if it becomes an issue, just do the same thing for internet loss. The chances for disconnecting during combat are very,very slim. Edit: Mainly, it would hurt new players who have grown their dayz facial hair yet. -
What?.... Wait... WAT? Weren't we all noobs at some point with veterans feasting on our misery? The noobs should be grateful there's no l86 thermal or as50s to blow your liver out as you walk through Cherno. My god that's one of the main features of DayZ. Learning to survive!

I facepalm evertime i see the word stats. You don't have stats in real life. Why not just be realistic about this. as you run, you can increase stamina. as you carry weight, you become stronger. simple things that give the CHARACTER meaning, without adding a bunch of runescape "omfg im like level 400 strength." fyi I'm not trying to be offensive, just pointing out how you can be realistic, add a little value to your character, and not bosh the idea of "This is your Story." -

I really would like to see some more realistic hunting weapons, like .30-06, or a .270 win mag. Maybe a tokarev too. edit: in general, WWAYYY more civilian weapons. -

This. In real life (ya, i know, this isn't real life) you wouldn't just go around killing people, in situation like dayz, would you. People would work together much more than they do in Dayz. It's human nature. KoS will always be a part of dayz, and i think it should be. It's just TOO abundant right now. -

I feel skills shouldn't be levels, but realistic curves. As in your stamina increases fast as you exercise in the beginning, but as you reach the limits of an average human being, your stamina increase slowly diminishes to nothing gained. strength is increased by how much loot you carry, and eventually stops giving you gains as the weight becomes "normal" to your player. you need to carry heavier items to increase your strength. -
I think the majority of people getting killed by "hackers" are just dying and blame it on hackers.( not saying you specifically, just overall) I have been playing Dayz since it was at around 80,000 players, and i have only encountered hackers about 3 or 4 times. It's an issue, but it's not THAT bad (at least from my experience and my ten other friends who also play dayz, who have rarely encountered hackers).

It's really not a big deal. I would really like to play during the day, but i've been fine playing during the night. IMPORTANT: I think all the AUTO servers have the same time zone hence why all servers are dark. When people start buying servers, I think it will be day on more of them.

FYI, there are trap servers that wipe your character.

Ya. It wouldn't be so bad if all nights where moonlit, but i honestly can't play, as i am one of those players who refuses to use a light source. It's was like 3:00pm in florida when i started playing. All FL servers are night, and i never get daytime. -

Like I said, my system stops all of those except the server base construction. Most people ( even server hoppers) won't want to wait 20 mins to leave a server. It also helps prevent ghosting, as most people keep moving, and if you don't in at least 20 minutes, you either are new to DayZ, or have some special tactic I fail to understand. The only way I see ghosting being an issue is if a groups barricades Cherno, and clan ghosts into the city. And again, I don't think ghosters will want to wait 20 mins (unless its two huge rival clans or something). Edit: server hopping could still be an issue if people find a route that gives them a lot of loot in 20 mins, but again, i feel most server hoppers wont be willing to do actual work. -

Why not add a 10 minute timer before you can click log out once you join, and then a 10 minute timer to log out. example: -You want to log out -you press esc, and leave button. -a 10 minute timer starts, and you simply keep playing, and when the five minutes is up, and you log out a. Timer can be manually disrupted in pause menu (Cancel button) if you happen to find sick loot. b. also disrupted by firefights. -If ten minutes goes by, you log out. and if you alt-f4 (or Crash) during either 10 minute period it simply spawns you at the coast. So in all that's a 20 min period. To a player who is ACTUALLY playing it wouldn't be a big deal (only a 10 minute logout), but to a hopper its a total of 20 mins, which i think would be enough to deter most from hopping. -
I agree. Once I understood how sickness and unconsciousness worked, I had no problems.

FYI, If you're a arma/dayz vet and know the map, you can just respawn and go to your body. That's what I did. Got all my stuff back

I've actually passed out from fatigue. Was out maybe five minutes at the most, but it was a long time ago so I don't remember fully. As for concussions though, been knocked out twice. Woke up after about 10 seconds.( Of course, that depends on severity of the concussion). and btw all three times i saw the text "You are unconscious", and I can confirm there is, in fact, a timer irl when unconscious lol.

Get an i5 3470 and a gtx 660 as that graphics card is really a big bottleneck. He can't get a 3470.. He's running haswell. -

They did not everything is much worse now, once you get "hit" you have 15 minutes to find a sterile wipe to clean your wounds if you don't clean the wound, you get infected and loose 1 blood/sec vehicles still gets hogged that will never get fixed. Antibiotics are still rare, but medical supplies actually spawn in hospitals again! there is a crafting system now....but the stuff you need to craft is so rare good luck ever using the system. Everything is also super rare now, such as guns and ammo, and the zombies while are alot better need their detection rate tuned down like .5% to be perfect. I find the infection stupid. I get moderate cuts scrapes and such all the time. In fact, in my whole life, I've never had an infected wound. I generally rinse with water when I get a chance, and that's about it. Hell even deep shit, just rinse and maybe bandage. -

I see people don't like third, but all the people saying its and exploit and was put in for no reason are completely wrong. The whole reason is to provide a more life like situational awareness. Whenever I play arms only in 1st, I always feel as though I have way less info on where my body is. Like if you lay in a bush IRL, you can tell if your gun is sticking out. You can't do that on a 2d screen. So you may think your hidden, but your big as gun could be sticking out. It helps with situational awareness, and that's why BI includes it in arma. -

Unless they add the stance system from arma 3, I think 3rd needs to stay. Why? Let's say you want to look over a small wall, but you can't while crouched. Well its either stand up all the way and become a huge target or use 3rd person to see. Because in a game like days, I think a simple crouch stand prone doesn't work. I don't mind poking my head out with the stance system. I mean think about it. IRL if someone was shooting at you would you stand up? No, you'd peek around, above, or under. I like the more realistic situational awareness third gives you, but I'll give that up if we have a better stance system. -

I think something to point out is that Dslyecxi has track ir. It's makes a big difference in 1st person, because you have WAY better situational awareness. Third person gives you a better overall perspective. I'm generally in 3rd when running around in forests or surveying an area. I switch to 1st when shooting and when in cities. -

If bohemia was only interested in money DayZ would be out already. They would do the typical EA "I DONT CARE IF ITS NOT FINSIHED AND SHIT, RELEASE IT." Bohemia has always cared about their customers. Also, ArmA 2 has a great engine, but its not perfect for DayZ. Hence the Dev teams reworking of it.
