Basically, with most of the settings in arma, if its on high its the gpu rendering it, normal or below its the cpu. Fyi obect detail can increase gps in cities. Object controls how many polygons are allowed in the scene, ie very low =150000, low=200000, normal=300000 i think. Numbers may not be correct, but i know it controls the polygon count. -

I see where hes coming from though. A lot of people resorted to shoot on site do to cod kids. I mean up north, I will shoot on sight unless something like this happens in which case we'll just be on our merry way. But on the coast, there's so many assholes. As in me and my friend killed zombies for a guy with and enfield and no ammo. We gave him ammo, and then when we left the pub, he popped us in the back. Again, an asshole. -
This is why i think six launcher shouldn't be used. I learned everything and install everything manually...

it a good idea to set it to zero. It really helps with performance but can also cause visuals to look funny. Look at my thread if you want more detail. -
First of all, check your sound settings. If their fine, check and see what your default sound settings for windows are. Also, if your using headphones, plug in your headset before starting arma.

Just go to battleye.com and go to downloads. Dowload the server and client files under 1.62. Then go to arma2oa folder, then expansions, then battleye. Delete the two files, server.dll and client.dll, and replace them with the ones you downloaded. The directory is arma2oa/expansions/battleye. Its what i do when it doesn't update in game. -

I personally think its ArmA mostly causing lag/fps issues, and dayz just adds a bit more to it lol. I mean what kind of game still has this many problems after being out for YEARS. I don't know, i play reg ArmA 2 too, and i get aggravated that i payed money for a product that is advertised as Finished, and yet feels so unfinished. Kinda dissapoints me, and i really hope bohemia doesn't make the same mistakes in the release of ArmA 3. -
Gamma isnt server side...and moonlight is about the weather. We can control the time, but not weather. Weather is what determines how well the moon shines through. Also the ArmA engine was designed purely with nvgs in mind, ie lots of extreme darkness. ArmA 3 will have more well moon lit nights.

I would recommend setting AToC to 0. Really can give you a decent boost in forests and such. -

I blame battleye. the anti cheat engine that doesn't seem to stop cheats. Idk I mean its not even cheats, its scripts. Why can't they just check the files when you start the game. I blame Hackers. Do not quote BAD LINKS. -
Kicking of Players for Clan members

I host from vilayer and I'm a newer admin and I can't ban people and its aggravating. We only allow about 110-150 ping or below, and when people join with like 250 ping and all I can do is kick, them and they keep rejoining four times and I can't ban them for rejoining, its annoying. Basically, my method to this is to kick high ping players, to give them a chance to lower their ping in case they are uploading or downloading something, so they can rejoin with a better ping later. I had a guy who just kept rejoining and rejoining, and all I could to was kick. And the only reasons I kick/try to ban is if someone has high ping or hacks, no other reason. -

In case you don't know op, your IQ being high does not mean your smart. Its what you know that effectively displays your intelligence. Your IQ is your ability to learn. IE a person with down syndrome can be smarter than you, they simply just learn slower. So anyone can be smarter than you, you just simply learn faster. Another example can be a college graduate with a phd. They may have an IQ of 110 and I have a IQ of 125 (random number, I don't even know my own IQ). Although I learn faster than him, he is SMARTER and KNOWS MORE, because he has had more schooling. -

Its either a problem with a BI's beta patch or the newest DayZ patch, or a combo of both. I think its dayz cuz I'm not getting any problems with regular OA on that patch, but it could also be the patch screwing up dayz props. Who knows lol all we can do is wait for one party or the other to fix it. -

Ok people need to learn the difference between screen tearing and a graphical artifact. This is a graphical artifact. Cannot be fixed. -

You haven't looked into optimizing arma. He's completely right. Only thing he didn't mention was fxaa in the .cfg file. It adds antialiasing with almost no performance loss. -
