Looking for a DayZ Partner to join group of 3-5. (3 regular) Prefer the more serious type I guess, but good to have a laugh, and a MIC is a must. Age of 18+ We are a decent group of players that use a more tactical approach. We watch each others backs, and 'try' to stick together to survive. Preferably be from Europe due to ping issues, we are from the UK. We use Skype atm, Talk soon maybe =) -

Rocket has said multiple times he cant see why the game can be out this year, but its taking the Minecraft approach and will be available first as a low price alpha version. (Not saying I belive him but its good to hope :) -
Dogs are coming as companions in the next patch 1.7.3.

Only problem I have with 3rd person is that campers can spot you way too easily, but with first person only for example they would have to be in your line of sight aswell, other than camping behind a door and and using 3rd person view to see round it when I would stand no chance. And name plates are just silly :)

I agree, although it means better cover if your already in the building I suppose, but when half of the zombies in Cherno are right behind you it can get very frustrating >.< -

Ya most of what is above should and probably will go into standalone as the games engine is limiting what they can do, its not their fault :L But Rocket has said in many interviews including one a few days ago that he sees no reason why it cant come out "this September earliest". No idea how he will manage that but his words not mine, you can check for yourself :D

I totally agree and have always thought about this, since this game is about surviving with the basics, it fits in perfectly and is needed greatly. Hope Rocket sees this :)

A few things you can try if you have done the basics try launching the game via DayZ commander, Six Launcher, or the beta patch found in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead. So long as you have patched the game. -
C/D Winchester = best gun in game

It would be venturing away from DayZ, and more to a Left for Dead style game, it would be cool in its own way I guess, but I honestly dont think it will happen,

Rocket stated an idea that in the stand alone there is a very high chance of underground Bunkers being used in the game. Thats as close you will get, if not better. As for DayZ mod I'm not sure.
