we don't go around killing each other because we have been conditioned to think its wrong? this is wrong, if this was infact the case civilization would've never happened as the stone ages would've been a free for all clobbering match. Fact is not even animals driven by primal instincts generally kill just to kill, not even animals of diffrent species.. They kill to feed, to establish dominance, out of fear. so no the current state of dayZ pvp is not realistic at all, by any standards.. but that is to be expected, its a alpha afterall.

I really like parts of this idea, and I think it would be a good feature.. however I think it would even better if you only got the effect the 5 first kills or so. It makes sense that a killer would eventually grow cold and would no longer be affected much by emotions like real human beings. This would allow bandits that had "earned" the right to be coldblooded murders a reward for going trough that phase, as they would no longer be affected by it. Obviously it should start over every new life.

As for the "strong having a edge" I fail to see how being a bandit is being "strong". If anything being a bandit is the easy way to play, less risk, more rewards.. as such wouldnt the truely "strong" be the survivors who don't result to "kill-on-sight" ? ;) time to implent that edge then. However if what you ment is "bandits are strong because its easier to play as one" then that again would be an imbalance. which would indeed need to be addressed at some point. In anycase, I defo don't think bandits should be removed, I highly doubt anyone really thinks they should.. I think alot of the problems currently ingame will be removed trough simply adding new features. Until then I would love to see a temp feature called "gluttony" the more murders you performed past a point the quicker your food/drink would deplete, this would allow savages to be savages, but at the price of making the game more difficult for themselves. I think such a feature would add the possibility for more intresting interactions, such as robbing someone without actually killing them, or crippling them and leaving them to bleed out etcetc. And yeah I know its not "realistic guys" but before you flame me for that, do keep in mind this is a zombie mod.. -

And how much of the money that you payed for arma 2 went to the developer of DayZ? care to take a guees.. what would be unfair is if you did NOT have to pay again for a standalone version. You never payed rocket or his team a dime, so I suggest you drop that sense of entitlement, its out of place. -

Haha, logged off due to night in one of the western supermarkets earlier today, went to grab some real life food and drink... I logged of in the back of the supermarket in the small room in the corner. Right before I logged off I had exchanged my military flash light for a pistol at that very location.. or so I thought.. Logged back in, seemed to have turned day, noticed that somehow i had not gotten the pistol i picked up before relog, then literaly a second later I see a survivor with a ak crouch his way into the room.. thank god he was tunnel visioned by the can of beans by the door, he never saw me in the corner... and In shock I logged off before he had time to notice me... I have never felt so naked before.. damn flashlight nearly cost me my life. -
Ingame Nick: Espen Age: 23 Timezone: CET Playtime: I have a pretty open schedule atm, so in most cases will be able to adapt my playtime to a groups playtime. I am currently on my third life as a lonewolf, first lasted around 2 hours, second around three hours ( died from dehydration lol.) and my current life has lasted somewhere around 8-12 hours. So basically I am still pretty fresh to the game, how ever I feel I have adapted rather quickly, and due to my previous Ofp experience I have a pretty decent understanding of the game. I am mainly looking for a unit/squad/group that operates as a team, and while I might find enjoyment in hunting down players once in a while, I don't want to join a group that plans on turning into blood thirsty savages. I would consider my self to be a very patient player (to a point) and as such I am perfectly capable of being part of a stealthy group. Atm I do not like nights AT ALL, as I have been unable to find NV, as such I am prob looking for a group that will swap servers when its pitchblack, unless we got proper equipment, to keep going. I am a big fan of using military or even guerilla tactics, and while I am at best a novice at it, I will do my best to adjust to the group dynamic. I do have a microphone, and am willing to dload programs such as ts if needed. I am norwegian, as such might also be intrested in scandinavian teams. I am not intrested in playing on servers on other continents that will give me bad latency,

My first death was to dehydration.. while it sucked to die from not being able to find any water, I suppose the fact that i survived long enough to dehydrate on my first try is a +. :P

So I started yesterday, and somehow i managed to find a atv, at a gas station (with fuel tanks like these), had a empty jerry can and everything, trying my best to interact with the fuel tank I never got a option to do so, looked trough plural tutorials but the options they got in the tutorials never appeared to me, I spent around a hour driving from fuel tank to fuel tank without being able interact. Is this currently bugged, or do the fuel tanks only have a very small chance of being interactable? I checked atleast 15-20 tanks, 8 of which were at two diffrent gas stations.

NO While starting with guns is quit silly, starting with some sort of melee weapon would make the experience alot less tedious.
