i honestly approve of this, it should lower the chances of me getting a bullet in my head just for being spoted by the guy with a lee enfield when i was going to be friendly anyway the only friendly encounter with another player i had so far was when a guy was looking for whoever shot at him, i came up from behind, but 2 things stoped him from shooting me down 1.) i had a crossbow and no pistol, he was looking for someone with a firearm 2.) when he saw me, i was saluting, proving i was friendly, so he saluted back, and we went on our seperate ways without conflict so all i can say is: this will help us alot, not only will CoD kids be revealed, allowing us to get rid of them, but we wont have to worry AS MUCH about the random guy with no bandit hat on running tword our turf with a M4A1 only way i see past this is to be a jerk with gurnades and blow up a building, making it fall on a player, the way i see it, how will the killer be determined? as for internetTab, i really feel your pain, why arnt there more people like you (and me) around on Day Z, i have no idea -
this seems like a good idea, but here is another seggestion i had when epi-pens are used above 4000 (the amount of blood where you can faint randomly), it makes fainting due to zombie attacks impossable for 120 seconds if used while above 9000 blood, you will receive a "adrenaline" effect, witch will boost your max speed in ALL task by twice as much, boost movement speed by 1.5X, and temperarly make loss of breath / stamina impossable for 30 seconds thats my idea, but some people may hate it, who knows

i would like this to be implanted, heres my resons 1.) players that ware camo will HAVE to change occassionaly, the current camo clothing will be useless in snow, witch will greatly lower the survivability of players that stick to the normal camo (the normal clothing is uneffected, as it uses a blue/white/tan color spectrum, witch blends in 50% of the time in most eviroments) 2.) it gives a excuse to increase the need for heat packs, matches, hatchets, and logs, ect., as in snow, tempreture would drop quickly (unless your the female cherecter, she has a jacket, mabey make a skin that gives insultation and stops heat loss while worn?) 3.)if snow is deep enough, a mechanic can be put in where prone becomes impossable (due to snow being too deep to crawl in, ect.), zombies may get stuck in the snow, occasionaly enabling players to ignore some zombies, even when agroed, and some area will kill players if walked on without the correct gear (snowshoes, witch will spread out the weight of the cherecter on the snow, allowing the player to walk/ crouch walk on snow that is so deep that normaly (or if the player decides to try to move prone, even with the shoes on), the player will fall though and become helpless, resulting in death) 4.) some items become useless or not as useful in snow (for example, the millertary flashlight is designed to give off just as much light as the normal flash light, but it gives off a RED light,, witch is harder to spot in forest or other areas, in snow, red light will STAND OUT, forcing players to keep that light turned off if they dont want snipers to see them, also, wire fencing may become useless, as set up traps may fall though the snow, rendering them useless unless someone is dragging themselves in the snow (just think draging yourself though snow without snowshoes, and you get a broken leg from a random bear trap that was buried, ouch) 5.) it will give a excuse to put "heating of food & water" in the game, when in a showy area or when too cold, using canned food or bottled water on a fire place will heat the food/ water, resulting in heat-recovery, and (possably) additional blood recovery thats all i got for this

sorry mate, i dissaprove, i may be a compleatly friendly player (only kill i had on another player was when i shot one that was sprinting in front of me in the head by mistake with a crossbow while trying to shoot a zombie, as least he was a bandit), but the bandits will not like this, especialy when it comes to REAL firefights (i have seen a 5 vs. 5 fire fight from a mountian, what if one of the players lost all his allys then somehow killed all 5 enemys in revenge without dying), not just random scessions of snipin newbs to upkeep the clan name, ect. -
well.... look on the bright side if you could move, then all you would need to do is avoid players that still are human, zombies apperently ignore animals (i once saw TWO cows touch some zeds while near about 15 others, they didnt mind them, so apperently, they view animals as friendly / inediable) but yah, they proably should stop this bug / hack

while cars are rare for me to find WITHOUT a clan driving them first (once died because i was crossing the street while crawing through a zombie infested town and a party of bandits ran me over with a jeep (i kinda loled at myself, i shouldive ran when, i started hearing voice communication on direct chat along with the sound of a engine, funny thing is, they didnt even see me at first untill i stood up 5m while they were going at 80-somthing KPH)), they are kinda common to see, idk if its my luck or what, but i see at least one vehical pass over me each and every scession (wrether it be a helicopter flying through chreno, or even the hatchback i just saw zoom past me in flames before blowing up, ho well, free beans for watching a idiot die) all i have to say though, if they want to make vehicals more common, then they need more BIKES, i only saw one in my Day Z life, and that was when a idiot road his over a cliff and fell to his death (almost ran me over), and the bike's wheels were too busted up from the fall to be useable, and with bikes, unless your thinking the motorbikes you find in racing, you dont need fule to use them, they are mechanicaly powered, and can get you up to 60 kph if they are taken care of in fact, now that i think of it, i know why bikes are rare.... usuly, they are wrecked by players that lack common sence and go charge off a cliff or into a wall or even into the ocean, and they have no passenger space or invertory space, so you cant really store anything in a bike or move with a clan or friends, making them not so desireable by players, even though you dont need fule to operate

heres a idea combine a weapon with a flashlight and duct tape and you can attach a flashlight to most weapons (except for sidearms and some assult rifles) or allow a way to, during the night, restore power to a city so that people can see via the shreet lights or window lighting they would be a HECK of alot better then throwing a flare or chemlight while, 200 meters away, a bandit with a sniper rifle is looking for pot shots... -
i dont think thats a hack i have logged into a server, and found myself RIGHT behind a survivor, i didnt shoot him (my friendly nature), and he left without noticing me i didnt use a hacking program (i sware to god), so if someone poped up behind you and shot you, it might have been someone who you were unlucky enough to have log in right behind you, and turn out to be a bandit

edit: put some info, it might be inaccurate, but its the best i can do player: unknown (might be multiple hackers) server: us 171 (i beleive) time 11:50 UTC-06:00 i was playing on a server with full blood, as i was unhurt for that one life, with a alice pack, silenced assult rifle, and 11 mags for it (i found a dead player with it on him and lots more, idk how he got that much ammo without coming across food first, but before i could loot him compleatly, i got shot it, but escaped unharmed), when suddenly, i got teleported along with all the other players on the server i at first paniced, as i was surounded by players, as the area i was in was a war zone basicly, people dying left and right (i even died on the beach after 20 seconds from behind because some dude thought killing me with his crowbar was more importent then running from the 20-somthing zombies behind him) and half the buildings in chreno were collapsed (dont ask me where all the explosives came from, but they were coming at a rapid fire), but in this new area, i quickly noticed everyone was unarmed, and my silenced assult rifle and ammo was gone, all i had was my Alice pack after a moment (and a WTF) later, some text appeared on my screen saying "weapons will be spawning in a few seconds", and suddenly, all the players had a HUGE sniper rifle (including myself) and 6 mags for it, i didnt want to know what would happen next, so i ALT-f4'ed it out of there, i survived, but now i'm scared i have hack gear on me (that is, if it saved withen the 30 seconds i was confused untill i saw the sniper rifles) i'm assuming this was a hackers doing partly, i'm here to report this, but i am also here to ask to be forgiven if i do happen to have the hacked sniper rifle on me in the database, i much rather have to do my Day z life again then be banned for somthing i had no control over edit: i checked my cherecter, the hack equipment was gone and i endded up in the airfield, while i did have the luck to end up spawning right in the center of a horde of 50+ zombies (obvisly, i died before i could get away) i am glad thats out of the way

(before you go posting stuff about how this will not work, i am open to opinions / suggestions, just say the word and i'l see if i can change it up to better fit the community) i have looked at some topics players made (such as punishing bandits) that got negative reviews from the public itself, so while we wont be able to truly come to a compromise, i believe i have a idea to end the conflict with this "friendly's v. bandits" war (and introduce NPC bandits and give a excuse to buff the zombies) the idea i had in mind were servers where pvp combat is disabled, this can of course be done by turning friendly fire off, of course, but below are my ideas for some modded friendly fire settings on- the way it is now, you are free to shoot anyone you see with no questions, NPC bandits are non-existent and zombie count and strength is normal reaction only- players can take hits from other players and suffer some effects such as flinching, the color flash, the pain-scream, ect. however, they cannot deal damage, break bones, or cause bleeding (good for players that want to practice avoiding shooting teammates while in action, for when they decide to jump into full out pvp), but NPC bandits may appear to hurass players and zombies are greater in numbers and hit harder explosives only- players cant do anything to other players with firearms or melee weapons, however, they can harm players with explosives such as gurnades, and NPC bandits also appear along with more harder-hitting zombies off- players cant harm any other player in anyway... well except for the troll that makes the warehouse collapse with 5 or so players inside, NPC bandits also appear and zombies are in greater numbers and have harder hits here are my views with pro.s (can cons?) pros- * players that hate to deal with bandits can play freely without having a bullet flying into their head while trying to find a pistol to fight off the zombies on their tail * players can safely approach a player without worry of dying by them (unless they suddenly spam gurnades and make the building collapse) and thus, team up or even get help that would save them, where otherwise, on enabled pvp servers, they must ask "friendly?" to get a idea if the player in question is friendly, witch 50% of the time, they stay quiet, and 25% of the time, they lie, witch can lead to a unnecessary gunfight * players who are new to the game can play and gradually learn how to deal with zombies, manage themselves, ect.... without bandits coming to kill them right when they get a gun (and as a result, possibly make some players hate Day Z due to the community) * bandits that love to pvp can still do their deeds on servers that have pvp enabled * there wont need to be a bandit punishing set up (make players have the skin that was taken out, have npcs tell other players that bandit's current details, ect.), if you die to a bandit when you didnt want to fight in the first place, you shouldive stayed out of the pvp-enabled server cons- (they may be minor or major, but may be something to consider, and possibly can be worked around) * bandits that are trying to obtain a kill may end up wasting ammo on a unarmed player because the bandit chose to join a non-pvp server * it might take some of the thrill out of the game * players that feel safe on non-pvp enabled servers may get trolled by exploits that allow players to still take damage (such as a player using smoke gurnades to collapse a hospital with 2-5 people inside trying to regroup) (i am fairly sure this may get critized at least once by other forum users, but this is only a suggestion, you are open to give your opinions and tell me what you would like to see in this as well) edit history 1.) inspired by miriklaw: NPC bandits appear when PvP is off 2.) inspired by golgo82 + dazed + djug90: non-pvp servers will require a different carecter then one's used for pvp servers (to prevent farming of items in the safety of a anti-pvp server), and zombie counts are increased + deal more damage 3.) notice put at intro that i can / will made changes according to fellow fourm user opinions / suggestions

seems like it will work, as for players that D/c due to connection loss rather then alt+4, the game can detect when a player is starting to lose their connection (player "joe" is losing connection) so they may be good excuses to go without punishment -

no use for trash?, i beg to differ it's possable to kill a zombie with trash, it only takes 3 cans to kill a zombie, so... just run indoors and your free to go zip some metal in their faces

here are a few achevment seggestions i have broken vengeance: kill the bandit responceable for shooting / breaking your leg... without dying (must survive 45 seconds after bandit is killed to obtain) "axe" me a question: kill 25 zombies with the hatchet / fire axe pistol-menship: kill 10 zombies with pistol headshots from more then 20 meters away surprize!: kill 5 zombies that are unaware of you while you are withen 10 meters of them not dead yet!: regain consciousness on the beach 5 times (deaths must be of lives lasting longer then 30 min.) livin on a drop of blood: survive for 5 min. with less then 1k blood remaining "walk" it off!: use morphine to deal with a broken leg who are you callin "chicken"?: hunt, gut, cook, and eat a chicken vehicular bandit-slaughter: kill a bandit by running him over with a vehical or be said bandit in the senario quiet gunz: kill 30 zombies, animals, or humans with silenced weaponry i was tired of that moo'in anyway: hunt, gut, cook, and eat at least one piece of meat from a cow EAT TRASH!: kill a zombie with a can smokin BONK!: knock out a bandit or survivor with a direct hit smoke gurnade from a gurnade lancher demolision man: blow at least part of a building apart with explosives if only there was a sunset and a safe haven...: fully repair a helicopter or boat and fly / sail it around the coast during dusk or dawn A-A survivor: take down a helicopter eigher by using a rocket lancher or by killing the pilot from the ground takin a zombie's dinner: with a vehical that can carry at least one passanger, pickup a survivor or bandit bieng persued by a horde of zombies and drive off for 500 meters with a last breath comes the finishing blow: obtain kill credit on a survivor / bandit after your death or withen 10 seconds of your death due to bleed-out death to bacteria? not on my "antibiotics": while infected with disease, cure the disease with antobotics a brother-in-survival: survive for 5 min total while near a survivor or bandit witch the both of you not harm each other (within 50 meters) three's the charm: survive for 10 min total while near 2 survivors or bandits witch none of you not harm each other (within 50 meters) quad the chance: survive for 25 min total while near 3 survivors or bandits witch none of you harm each other (withen 75 meters) five times the horror: survive for a full hour while near 4 survivor or bandits witch none of you harm each other (withen 100 meters) saved his a$$!!: kill the survivor, bandit, or zombie horde resoncable for the knockout of a fellow survivor, witch afterward, he survives for at least 5 min longer experinced the agony, survived!: take the knockout blow from a zombie, then proceed to be eatten by at least 3 zombies, witch they manage to break your leg in the process, then wake back up to counter-attack... and survive who the hell is this lookalike?: die, reawaken on the beach.... and find the dead body of your previous life, and loot it the three "S"' to the survivor rule book: as a full-pledged survivor, "scavenge" loot from a building, "slay" 10 zombies or at least one bandit, and "survive" for 10 min. afterward ... on second thought... i'l walk: witness the complete destruction of a vehicle... and survive throw it in reverse!: while in a vehicle, run over 10 zombies while going in reverse smart move!: do the right thing after agro'ing 20 zombies or more with no friends .... RUN! (for 300 meters)... and manage to lose them all irony in eatting: while surounded by at least 5 zombies that are unaware of you, eat and drink up for now, those are my ideas, may add more though

hey... in case you didnt know, Day Z is still in alpha testing, its not even in beta yet how do we expect to release a game for the Xbox when we havnt steped out of the foothole of a alpha game, let alone into a full game insted of a mod for Arma 2?

this is a great idea for the blood system, its small, but worth it (ho and it gives us a excuse to EAT or DRINK somthing before we suddenly start loosing 20 blood/ second due to starvation & thirst other then we find a huge statch), it will make it a BIT easier, but not so much pros are going to live forever even under heavy attack at all times also, this will allow us to rely on paitence at times, say we have adaquate amounts of food and water but not the luck to not end up with 3800 blood, when the okey level is 4000, witch, below that, is where you begin to pass out randomly, with regeneration, we can wait out that final bit of blood in a barn or someplace then get moving again

while we do need a weapon to defend ourselves with, they threw out the 9mm pistol, and starting can of beans and cantine full of water before this (according to a video i saw, rocket decided to do a test with how the community will react in terms of proformance when without a handgun, even if it was so "weak" that some players think a roll of toilet paper would do better i'l be honest, i wont mind finding a plank to hit some heads with, i'm good with sneaking around chrino in search of a fire axe

@l0Gin its possable that they are droping supplies because theres teams of depolyed soldiers still in the area, but the plane dose not know where the target squad is, so is droping and praying that their commander got the destination right (witch, as we all know, will so be worng) as for the idea, it will be very helpful to find crates of supplies around, and it gives us a good use for the crowbar, witch is only useable as a melee weapon, compared to the hatchet/fire axe, witch can harvest lumber as well as make it rain zed-heads

it seems like a good idea, but just to add in effects involving fear (and causes): 1.) bullet flys by you while standing and idle effect: sharp rise in fear and player instentivly drops and goes prone 2.) food/water consumption effect: user calms down by a fairly good degree, but max fear level also rises 3.) high-speed object coming players way (such as a car driven by a bandit trying to run him/her over effect: sharp rise in fear and player instentivly dives out of the way (assuming they are looking at it and standing up) 4.) player runs out of ammo for a weapon effect. moderate rise in fear + max fear rises 5.) blood transfusion or morphine use is proformed effect: sharp drop in fear + drop in max fear 6.) player is indoors or near light source at night effect: fear begins to drop 7.) blood levels dangrously low effect: fear will NOT drop unless blood is restored or player passes out 8.) near another survivor that appears to be trusted for a peorid of time fear begins to drop, survivors may share fear levels at times these are just my ideas and may sound stupid, but what do you think?

if dogs get in the game, i bet you zombie ones would be a pain, so they should have some sort of machanic that makes them different from humans say..... survivor sneaks into village dog sights the survivor one of 2 things can happen 1.) the dog barks, pretty much alerting ALL the zombies withen 100m to your presence, and causing those withen 300m to investagate 2.) the dog pounces on survivors on occasions, distracting the survivor for 5 seconds before the survivor kicks the dog off them the catch though is that they have lesser health then human zombies and are more easily distracted what you think of that idea of the mechanic? edit: i see what you guys mean with the barking, sorry about the lack of logic as for the dog barking, i had *the dog barks first, then runs* in mind, not charge n' bark, but keep in mind, i have seen dogs that bark and run at the same time

i agree with ow22, if classes are in the game, they should be civi classes, not some dumb class like sniper or bomber, or some crazy unlogical thing, but somthing like a cop, doctor, and the such, and make sure they only have a particular skill, not strengths and weaknesses
