This game is fucking garbage!!!!1
Barronism replied to -NGR- Larkinto's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Holy crap! OP, do you not understand what Alpha means? This mod is in Alpha, that means there are bugs. That means when you joined, you joined knowing that it was full of bugs and you could die at any point and time. Hell, when they go Beta they'll probably wipe everything anyways. What you're currently doing is playing, what you should be doing is playing and reporting bugs. By helping report bugs you get the game fixed. So instead of bitching about a boo boo on your knee. Go report it and go play. -
Ugh. Tips on finding tents / vehicles?
Barronism replied to Zexis's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Check nearby forests, just past the entrance. Behind trees/bushes and rocks. Mine is hidden a good mile away from Cherno, and elektro. Lets me run between the both for loot while actively storing things. Plus if I die its an easy run to. I won't say what server mind you, but think like that when trying to find them. Easy to reach, hard to see. Ones that are easy to reach, easy to see. Are probably traps. EDIT: i totally didn't read the whole post : / I found a few in the 2nd story of the cafe in Cherno -
Swam out a ways, alt tabbed and was talking to someone on skype. When I tabbed back in I was getting attacked by two zombies who where standing above water hitting me. I was at 8k hp, and bleeding out. By the time I reached the coast I had 300 blood left and died before being able to bandage myself. If I can't bandage myself or use my weapons to fight off zombies while swimming, they shouldn't be able to attack me either. How does the act of death, grant them jesus water walking -.-! yeah, know its a bug, but they can add in the ability for players to use inventory or defend ourselves. Or fix the zombies. So it fits in both I suppose.

This isn't Battlefield. We aren't talking about getting full blood back in 5mins.

Atleast regen blood upto the 5k mark, so your screen isn't stuck greyed out and you are not constantly getting knocked out.

Forums are ordered chaos. Threads regarding what someone wants to know aren't always visible and the search options shows you words, not context. So if I do a search about setting up a tent, I get 50 topics that have the word tent. out of all those topics perhaps 10 have the answer I'm looking for. If someone creates a new thread with questions, they must wait for a response. What if they need to know immediately? Like how to put on a bandage or they bleed to death. They can't wait 15mins for someone to respond via forums or take the 2-3 mins to search it via google. An active chat systems lets them ask right away, and quiet possibly get an answer. In Mortal online, there is a chat channel just for "help". If side channel/global channel was considered just a help channel and if people just talked there often with off topic chat, they'd get a nice kick. Then normal players with questions/answers could communicate without an overly active chat that their response gets lost in. -
In basic I had to carry five M16's on my back during a ruck march. We were doing simulated "deaths" and when someone died people had to carry them and someone had to carry the weapons. I was charged with weapons. It was uncomfortable but completely possible to carry my own ruck + weapon (50-75lbs) + their weapons. To assume people in this game can't carry more than one weapon on their back, or carry a few can of beans, is nuts!

I think there needs to be something, or even fists. If we're going for realism here, then why would someone not use tooth and nail to survive? Why just stand there and let the zombie eat them alive? Starting with a crowbar and reducing the knockout from >9k to >4-5k would be good. At like 5k your screen blurs anyways, so make that the same point. Having almost full blood and getting knocked out by a lucky zombie hit and then bleeding out to >1k is pretty outragous. Or having your leg break from one hit and then you have to spend two hours crawling to the nearest city.. is just silly. Bones should heal over time, or pain killers should let you walk on them for like 10mins. Then you could run to a medical center and get morphine to fix it.. If you used your painkillers for something else, or dropped them for room. enjoy the crawl.

thinner blood, blood pools/splatter + tracks as gameplay, dismemberment for zeds

Not to sound disgusting here, but human meat is edible. Though I think resorting to cannibalism is an extreme, why would someone choose death over the freshly killed body five feet away? -
I agree, blood does regenerate over time and so it should here. Even if blood regeneration in reality is a slow process the player does need this avenue. Not everyone plays with a large group of trusted friends, the only person I bought the game with quit. So I am forced to rely on randoms for blood packs. Seeing as none of these humans have ever attended a single survival course, we're forced to find things like matches or Hunting knifes.... Rely on others to give us blood... I'm an Ex US Army Soldier and I know how to hunt/create fire and give myself an IV. I think it is unrealistic to assume that these humans wouldn't. They're actively surviving and should learn how to do certain tasks over certain amounts of time. Lets say the player survives for "X" amount of days. They then learn the ability to give themselves blood bags, or perhaps learn to create fire through friction. Learn to kill a rabbit with the bare hands (I've done this, quick stroke to the back of their neck), simple things that people should know but for some reason don't know how to in this game. Just a suggestion, from someone who feels like the currently ingame players are mindless sheep

I strongly disagree. If a new player joins, what avenue do they have to learn the game? By running in and dying over and over? Without some type of interactive system that can direct new players, people who do play might quickly become discouraged from continuing to play. Here is an example, myself and my friend Louis both bought the game together, we decided it would be an interesting play. After he died probably between 10-20 times trying to talk to other players and or get loot without knowing the controls/systems. His opinion now is that the game sucks. I'll just say that I think the opposite, not knowing if someone is going to kill you is thrilling. You could lose all your hard work in seconds, or gain a lot more. I find this game fun. Assuming there are hundreds upon hundreds of other people who think as my friend Louis does. Out of all the people who buy Arma II for Dayz, how many end up not liking it solely because there is no way to start out. No starting weapon to defend yourself vs zombies (Even a crowbar would work, despite how much that weapon sucks. At least it would let you deal with the lone 1-2 zombies you aggro). Not that many servers have Side channel, no way for new players to come in and ask how to do this, or how to do that. If regular/recruit servers were forced to have global channel, then newer players could learn the basics of Dayz and possibly have a lot more fun. While veteran servers would remove all but direct chat and people could experience the harsher or more realistic version. -
I see comments saying tents wiped from that last update, well I didn't put mine down until AFTER the update to 1.7.2. Were they wiped again for 7.3? My tent is completely empty. Do they get wiped after every update? Edit: I understand its in alpha and this is bound to happen, this is for personal gain. if i know they'll get wiped often then I can expect it. If it was just a bug then I'll try to make sure I log out with what I want to keep the safest.

I contacted RMG and put in an request for medical help. Unfortunately a friend logged onto skype just right before they contacted me so I no longer needed help. But they were quick with a response and I appreciate the thought :D -

If anyone is on and can help, I'd appreciate it. I have an extra AK-74 in my bag you can have, with 3 mags. I have a broken bone and about 8.3k blood. So a blood bag is appreciated but not needed. Morphine is what I'd really like :D Steam name is Barronism, I'm in the long animal barn near Mogilevka.
