You don't say where you are from, but if you are UK/Europe try StormerClan.com Bliss Private Hive (search for Stormer in Dayz Commander), this is a good server to start and learn the basics, it doesn't get mega busy, but there are about a dozen regulars on there that are friendly and will help newcomers, there are extra vehicles on there too so you should have a good chance to learn to drive/fly etc.

L85 without thermal scope would be good :)

There is plenty of information about private hives if you Google it, but to be honest I would just get your GSP to sort it, they should never have sold you a 10 slot public hive server in the first place!!

I love watching vids of DayZ gameplay, but I have to be honest here - where is the skill in this? You are playing on servers that show name tags and just camping dead bodies a lot of the time, and you miss ratio must be about about 90%!! I'm sorry, don't take it personally but I no like :(

Supermarkets and apartments. Also the last 3 ATV's I have found have had tents on them, I don't know if other players have put them there or they spawn.

I'm running this version with DayZ 1.7.4.4 and hive 0.9.6.6, I restart my server twice a day but have only seen it crash once in between restarts. Sorry I can't help more :( Although it may be worth rolling back a version to see if it still crashes? edit: actually, saying that there is a later version of ArmaOA now (99202), it might be worth trying that?

I have had a public hive server running for 2 months now, and the chopper never spawned (I saw other server owners reporting the same). I checked every day in the armaoaserver.RPT file, searched for 'streaming' and saw the vehicles that spawned, but not once did I see the helicopter. I still don't see it since upgrading to 1.7.3 (hive 0.8.0.0), although I do see in the HiveExt.log: 2012-11-03 07:03:40 : [information] Result: ["OBJ","5193784","UH1H_DZ","0",[147,[13301.4,3238.12,-0.035]],[[[],[]],[["ItemSodaCoke"],[5]],[[],[]]],[["glass1",1],["glass2",1],["glass3",1],["glass4",1],["glass5",1],["NEtrup",1.2],["motor",1],["elektronika",1],["mala vrtule",1],["velka vrtule",1],["munice",1.071],["sklo predni P",1.048],["sklo predni L",1.118],["glass6",1.04]],0.001,1.0] ^^ Is this telling me the UH1 has spawned?

If you read a few posts up you will see the fix you can make, however it is actually the server owners who should be fixing their script files, if you are in the UK or Europe try UK417, it seems to be ok so far........

Launch Arma2 through Steam, get into the game and the quit Launch Operation Arrowhead through Steam, get into the game and then quit Download and install DayZ Commander http://www.dayzcommander.com/ Use this to update ArmaOA and DayZ

I get a lot of 'failed to open event log file' Is this normal?

What ArmaOA version?

You need to get the game files in place first on your server, log in to Steam on your server and download the dedicated server files (they are under 'tools' in Steam)

I don't know then mate, unless it's your firewall, you need to make sure port 80 (pretty sure that's right) is open so the hive can update. Other than that I would just work through everything again, make sure you have installed 1.7.4.4 client and server to your server (I initially made the mistake of just installing the server), and maybe replace your mission file again. This is not actually recurring, if the OP is right when he says he gets kicked but has only just installed and started playing DayZ - then how can this be linked with changing into a ghillie for example?

Thanks, I will try it again - I didn't actually restart the server when I added it yesterday, but I did reload the scripts via DaRT, maybe I will restart it this time :)

Can you copy/paste the actual line(s) you have in scripts.txt for this? I tried adding it but people still got kicked, I ended up taking the line out and stopping DayZ AntiHax automatically updating the file

Nice team work but really don't like servers with name tags on - it just makes it far too easy. The first part of your video clearly shows you can't even see the guy, you're just picking up the name tags and shooting at them :/

I doubt you will get an answer, I've had a support ticket open for weeks now and the only response I got was the automated one. What is your problem? Maybe the community can help?
