You have to sodomize the animal first now, tenderizes the meat. Its a new feature in the last patch to add more realism. Go towards the back side of the animal and use your mouse wheel for the Sodomy option. Then you can get meat.

The game certainly has issues and its flaws, like every game. The core game Arma II is pretty solid, give it a shot, you might like it. If not, there are other mods out there that you may like.

What about hiring merc NPC's to guard places?

its a cool idea but from what i recall on OFP ( the last time I attempted scripting) you had to script them in, unless everyone had their own custom skin. Things might have changed, but cool idea anyway.

What the hell cock ass... love it.

Turn off dropping items while swimming :/

but a back pack doesn't. I haven't ventured into the deep in a while but last time I did my entire back pack disappeared. I can see some items, bandages, matches, but not your entire inventory. -
So what are we going to do to protect ourselves?

It is a real shame what is going on with hackers. I have played my last couple of games in a private server(s) and haven't notice any issues, well I haven't been nuked or transported, not yet anyway. But to answer your question Azrail, no I don't think there is a magic wand that makes hacks and hackers disappear. But I do think options need to be explored to remedy the situation as much as possible as soon as possible. And it isn't just hacking that drives me up a wall, it's the ghosting, the disconnecting to avoid death etc etc. There is a broad spectrum of things that are making it a challenge ( not in a good way) to enjoy the game/testing. I would really luck to play the mod and be able to provide worthwhile feedback, "he this isn't working, how about adding this" etc etc etc. As it stands now I either have issues with updating and getting into games, or when I do get into a game I am either nuked, transported, or ghosted. Whether or not some people want to admit it, this is dictating the flow of the game and its overall progress. It is an alpha yes, but in order for it to progress past the alpha stage there needs to be, well, progression. Bear traps and dogs are not crucial for game development in my humble opinion. Being able to play the game and give constructive feedback is. -

Anything that can or should be done likely will not be done. The "dead horse" excuse "It's alpha" is going to be continued to be beaten until the mod becomes beta, and then that horse will be beaten till good knows when. -
Sounds like he is the admin

Therein lies one of the problems. Being dubbed a "survivor" game doesn't offer much insight as to what there is to expect. Damn near every game is a "survivor" game. I personally have yet to find a game that revolves around dying. I mean think of all the games that have a "survival" mode, and it is just waves of whatever continuously coming after the players. Arma 2 wasn't exactly the most popular game on the market, OFP and ARMA are a niche market and has never had a HUGE base compared to other mainstream games.

And right about now he is Google'n a new hack and a new CD key. I see a nuke in your future.

Ain't that the truth. But seriously, you have to realize a few things OP, people can be very mislead when they see videos on YouTube or read a few posts about action packed DayZ experiences. Besides this website, if you Google DayZ you get a slew of YouTube links that show the more "entertaining" elements of the mod. I agree it is kinda... asinine to buy a game you know nothing about simply for a mod. But in all fairness people tend to get swept away in a hype storm. Good call on the demo link.

LOL. I really don't know what to say. Seems like your basing your opinions from games you have played using Cry and not really understanding how the engine or any engine works. Meh, understandable.

So, I made an account. I think it was for a reason.

Not sure brother. I haven't seen anything on the forums in regards to them reaching out for community help. But just because I haven't seen it doesn't mean it's not there. Best bet might be PMing Rocket and asking him directly. Or making a thread with the title "Modeler looking to Help" provide a link to your portfolio or give some examples of your work. What do you work with? Maya,3D Max, Zbrush? You more of a hard surface guy or organic? Low poly, high poly, both? You could put some info like that in your post/pm so they know what you can do. -
Man this a good suggestion, cool idea. But have you noticed how bat shit crazy this engine gets when trying to handle simple shit like a stairwell or a doorway? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this engine is not designed for this kind of stuff. Not saying that it cant be done, it can be, it has been done, but it doesn't end well.

Just so I am clear, are you asking if the people creating DayZ are able to change the models and textures? Yes. -
Ripped off already? - WARZ
jdblair5 replied to okano666@hotmail.co.uk's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
LOL, you mean the stock models and assets that DayZ is using from Arma? Or the shitty textured zombies DayZ is using? I am not knocking DayZ for doing what it is doing, it makes sense in many ways, work on mechanics and code first then the visuals. I just find it funny your trying to say WarZ is copying DayZ when DayZ doesn't even have their own authentic stuff right now. -
what is it with you people

70% of statistics are made up on the spot. -
Do you guys (admins) have your own logs that you can look at that may or may not indicate something going down? I don't know what a log looks like, could be a billion lines of code and it would unrealistic to actually go through it and pinpoint a certain instance. But it seems like Battle Eye is dropping the ball and something needs to be done.
-
I don't know anything about logs and such, so I might be talking out of my ass, but if everything in the game essentially runs off of scripts; executing, saving, etc, there is no tracers or anything that might show PLAYER X acquired " a gun" ( whatever) or PLAYER X executed " nuke script". Again, this element is above my understanding, but it would seem that every action a player commits is recorded or logged somehow, or is that not the case?

Ban. Ban. Ban. And then Ban some more. I get what your saying, but your basically conceding and picking your poison. Shouldn't have to do that. Don't do that. Screw em. Let them keep buying keys, at some point the well will dry up. Your trying to be too diplomatic about this, I applaud you for your tolerance, and I feel for all of you that rent servers and have to go through this bullshit, but at some point, and I hope soon, you guys ( server admins) will say enough of the bullshit.

A lot of stuff needs to be removed from DayZ

Think your right, but regardless, why would a barn in Russia have a English bolt action rifle? I mean I am not saying that no where in Russia can an Lee Enfield be found, but wouldn't a Mosin Nagant be more likely? -

How about getting rid of the american and brittish weapons and putting more russian weapons in the game. i mean shit, i can understand some american weapons being found here and there, some, but Russia isn't exactly know for skimping on their military hardware.
