The servers tend to reboot quite frequently. It was probably just coincident.

Can't you just download them like everyone else? From a mirror and then load them onto your server? That's what I did and it seems to be running just fine and dandy.

I'll admit I updated my servers once and forgot to update the configs with the latest version in the server name. It sucked because I had to take them down again just to change a number. For the most part my servers(US30,US31,US32) are always accurate on the beta version and dayz version.

No where in the OP did they say this had been an on going thing. He was just bitching that the server was locked and two people were in there. Who cares? They're probably just testing things. Let it go. If its like that for dayz on end, then make a thread about it.

As for the mod itself that is. The server files are the same ones as the client side files. You can request to join the google groups for server hosters, it has all the information you will need(PM Ander for invite). Most of it is kinda kept from the public therefore its on the server hosting group. If you have any other sudden questions you can always PM me(I usually respond with in 12 hours).

Hmmm thats odd. If I didn't know what I was doing, I don't think I would be a server administrator for DayZ. But whatever, thats just my opinion. Actually, the server admins who take the time to setup their servers. Do it right. Get the settings right one by one. Are the ones who have some of the best servers. Look at Mojo or Sykotix for example. The people who slap a server together with a default config and hope it works are the ones with shitty servers.

Seriously guys... Hours upon hours of work go into make the servers run properly and stable. Multiple reboots needs to occur. You should be thanking them for locking the server so you idiots didn't keep joining it only to come onto the forums and complain more. I spent over 8 hours in my server locked the other day and not one single person complained on the forums. I was testing settings and editting the config files. I agree with everything except the removal of nightvision. If these features were implemented you could make it so you can't run with NVG's on. Its hard as shit to do in real life. Thus giving people without NVG an advantage(I can out run people!)

You could even have to water them using water bottles, or if it rains then they get full of water. You could also require it that it needs to be planted on plowed dirt(Makes it harder to just grow melons up in the hills). I think its a great idea.

I think the most important thing is to make medical supplies more scarce. Fucking up should be something that could be life and death. Each step, each move should be thought out and planned. Prevents rambo running through town.
