This process does not work! I used the player with the problem Steam Account on my PC logged into DayZ and had the black screen so the issue in not client side. I have found \mpmissions\dayzOffline.chernarusplus\storage_1\players.db file but do not know how to convert the UID to GUID to identify the particular player!

I will ask the player to try the file deletion, thanks for the tip will let you know how it goes.

That is not possible unfortunately as they are not visible to other players. They seem to be below the surface of the map!

We have had 3 reports on our community server of players that suddenly find themselves with a black screen, they can see the hud but cannot move or tab their inventory. This happens to two players while driving a car and again to one of them after drinking at a well. I travelled to the location of one of the players and the zombies in the immediate area where frozen and could not be killed by shooting them and when they logged out the zombies returned to normal animation and could be killed, when they logged back in the zombies froze again. The only way for the players to recover from this situation was to stay logged in with a black screen until they died of dehydration or starvation which took over 3 hours. It has happened again to one of the guys in the car after drinking at a well. Is this a server issue, bug in the code or related to the player in some way? Is there a way to delete a player's GUID from the server database so we can try them starting a fresh on the server? Any help or advice appreciated. BlueFish

Venthos Thank you a straight answer at last, this was what I was thinking but my inexperience made me question this logic. I thought I wanted a DayZ public hive server but after reading this thread I am not so sure anymore, I will speak to the 5 other financial contributers and see what they think. With this ever growing hacker problem maybe Vilayer public or even private hive may be the way to go after all...mmmmmmm..... decisions :-)

We just got a Vilayer server and when i raised a support ticket asking why we could not follow the Dayzmod.com host name convention and why do we spawn on the beach with no gear when we login I got this reply. Does this mean that although our server is not private hive, it is not actually available to the vast majority of the gaming population without them starting from scratch? "With Vilayer DayZPackage servers we are not required to follow DayZmod.com rules as they operate on our own hive. Secondly we enforce our own naming policy so that they can be seen properly in DayZCommander. You will be unable to change certain parts as that would stop DayZCommander from properly parsing your server name. I apologize for the inconvenience." Now I am thinking shall we move to a public hive platform, go private or stick with what looks like an in between option. Our objective is to have a stable gaming platform, that is accessible by as many people as possible that is consistently up and will not be messed with by admins in any way apart from dealing with hackers and cheats. Advice / opinions welcome

Hey Guys Forgive my totally noobish question but I have never had a hosted server before! We purchased a Vilayer server and when we fired it up and we tried to logon we spawned at the beach with no gear, does this mean that our server is not recognized by the dayZ hive? Is an instance ID what is required for us and everyone else to play on our new server and keep their existing gear etc?

I thought we purchased a public server I will put a support ticket into Vilayer to confirm and switch if I have to. Can you confirm if there is any authorisation process to be added to the DayZ Hive or is this done by Vilayer when you purchase the (correct lol) server?

Hi I had full gear before and I can log onto other servers fine. Our new server asks for Male or Female and others servers I log onto do not ask this so I wanted to know if you have to notify DayZ staff when you setup a new server so it is added to the hive?

Hi Guys Just purchased a Vilayer DayZ server, added our hostname according to the naming convention and fired it up. Tried to logon and it asked for Male / Female spawned at beach with no gear. Any ideas on what might be wrong. This is my first server so I am a bit of a noob I am afraid. Thanks fellas.

Ran the Sixupdater to 1.7.2.3 and spawned on beach with no gear after 10 days of play. Is there any chance to get my gear back by sending in my user details as was really enjoying testing the game with advanced equipement etc?
