Longest Kill Streak(No Cherno Noob campers aloud)
moeller.37@wright.edu replied to Canucks13's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Campers in general suck. You're shooting targets that don't even know you're there. It doesn't matter where you are, your targets have no clue what is about to happen. Actual firefights are where it's at. Have I killed a new player. Yeah I did once because I came across them on my run to Balota. Will I brag about another tally for that? Hell no. Get some balls. -
What settings can this run DayZ?
moeller.37@wright.edu replied to TheDude8D's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
High across the board and possibly some options better should get you a good framerate. By good I mean 50-60+ The one thing you might have to drop a bit is view distance. I see people way off in the distance even with that option at like 1500 or less. I don't know if there's anywhere in the game you need a greater visibility than that. -
I always write stupid things on the map (X) Fuck you

I am getting angry with DayZ
moeller.37@wright.edu replied to pumbas's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Why are they still working on this? It's apparently super dead-end. They need to start the standalone project already. -
Where can I find people?

If you're looking for people to party up with, DO NOT go to Cherno or Electro. You WILL be shot on sight. -

Yes. Don't listen to the idiots who think new people should get sniped all day long by 420n0s0op3pr0z. -
Rocket Said its up to the players to do something about bandits
moeller.37@wright.edu replied to ThePunisher (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I hate calling myself a bandit because being a faggot waiting all day on a roof is just plain dumb, HOWEVER This idea is equally stupid. I would just pretend to be one of you and wait till we're "on patrol" then shoot as many of you in the back as I could until you either kill me or all of you are dead. Edit: Please do that somebody. Please record it as well. Also add Benny Hill music. -
Punishing bandits? Shut up, seriously.
moeller.37@wright.edu replied to Inception.'s topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I'm a bandit and I think it's too easy. All a lot of bandits do is wait for someone to snipe. I think you SHOULD be banned for sitting on a roof for 20 minutes waiting to snipe someone. That's fucking stupid. I would go kill those people all day if I knew exactly where each was. Get my own sniper rifle and shoot them from the treeline while they watch over the town. It's not banditry, it's faggotry. I'm not even calling myself a bandit anymore... -

The only thing realistic in this game is that you die quickly from a gun shot in most cases. You wouldn't kill people in a Zombie apocalypse I'm sorry. -

47 Day old wanting to upgrade from the stable 1.7.1.5 to the new 1.7.2.3.. Some questions
moeller.37@wright.edu replied to -Cdn-Chard's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Everybody already knows about those problems. Why should yet another character get sacraficed into the realm of already known? I'll help you out here OP and say the issue is still here. Do not patch the day one comes out. Wait until there is enough information out about it and the major bugs that immediately show up (due to a lack of testing the patch yourself) like logging in to your death have been found and CLEARED. Stay in 1.7.1.5 if you like your character. If you don't care about your character and are okay with a random death for no reason then go ahead and upgrade and join in the giant game of Russian Roulette going here. I hope you don't get one of those unfortunate bug deaths. -
This is getting old...

If this was an adult game people wouldn't spawnkill people on the beach or sit around for 20 minutes and wait for a snipe kill on some random person in Chernogorsk. -

Truth Time Rockett
moeller.37@wright.edu replied to SilverTrimm's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Let me say this, Nobody is coming together as a community to test a mod. They started playing because either someone told them it was good GAME, or they saw a youtube video and found the GAME was advertised on steam, or something inbetween. There is a very small minority of people who had Arma 2 and played before Day-Z. An even smaller minority came to playtest an Alpha. They stayed for the most part because it used to work fairly well save for the occasional disappearing loot when you dropped it or similar minor bugs. Now it's plagued with random bugs that cost you all your stuff and your life. People who came because they thought it was going to be higher quality are disappointed. I know it's in "alpha" but how many of these people actually knew that? It's being advertised as if it's developed like Minecraft (Able to be released any time but just not yet because they want to add more). The thing is, if you wanted to get in on the game you HAD to buy Arma 2 and then buy the game later. You have to pay twice here because you're "not paying for Day-Z." I have enough money not to care too much- but I don't think that's going to fly with a lot of people if this Alpha continues to take forever with no apparent plans. P.S. I'm not in love with Minecraft but I think the devs should have gotten off of Arma 2 a LONG time ago and started a Minecraft/kickstarter standalone model. -

They should put Zed aggro to that of 1.7.1.5 I think it was. Proning just makes you easy player-bait. -
No starting weapon or global chat encourage player killing too much?
moeller.37@wright.edu replied to smokeymccallum@yahoo.co.uk's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I have to disagree. Those indicators are there because #1 you can't feel, #2 you're not a doctor to know if you were in shock or not , and #3 it's a game. Third person breaks immersion by letting you have out-of-body experiences at will. You don't have to put yourself in danger checking corners because of it. That's how it's useful.
