"Oh, it's night. Guess I'd better leave"

Yeah, night would be fine if your character could HOLD THE DAMN FLASHLIGHT STRAIGHT WHEN RUNNING. Seriously, it's not that hard.
  2. A hacker comes onto the server. And he doesn't mass kill us. He just TP's us to the beach littered with ammo boxes. His name was "Qzuilla" or something like that. Anyways, I tell the hacker to fuck off. And you won't believe it, but some people actually told me to fuck off. Some people actually support hackers. I can't believe it. Some people actually support hackers because they give people ammo boxes and TP everyone to the beach. Seriously. What the fuck has this game come to. Players actually don't care if people hack as long as they give everyone AS50's and Ghillie's.
  3. Do you guys think humanity drops a bit too fast when shooting someone? I mean, I'm certainly not a bandit or something - just yesterday, my friend got ran over by a car, so I popped both of the people in the car with an M1911. My humanity went from 3.3k to -1.1k immediately. I know humanity is based on how many times you hit them, but doesn't that simply encourage sniper rifle usage so humanity decreases slower? Humanity just seems to drop too fast for an average person to not become a bandit. I can't imagine what my humanity would be if I killed every survivor that shot at me first.
  4. You do realize 90% of people don't run DayZ from steam lol.

    Humanity drops too fast?

Not really my point - I'm just sayin' if I killed every single person who shot at me first, I'd be a bandit for sure. The reason I have such high humanity is because I usually don't shoot back.

Wow. I can't believe this shit.

I only had an M24 I found at balota a few hours ago. No other weapon. Even if I had an automatic weapon, I would like to keep my humanity high :P

Wow. I can't believe this shit.

You're right Twoski, it probably would have been better off not on the forums. Sometimes I just feel like posting this stuff though. It started a discussion anyways, so I don't think the topic is entirely useless. :P I was just a bit mad when I logged off the server, that's all.

    First vehicle you ever drove?

An offroad I found on the beach when I spawned. I started driving random people to random places :P

Wow. I can't believe this shit.

Wow. The whole point of this game is scavenging. If I don't get the gun myself, I feel no satisfaction in having gotten the gun.
  10. You do realize that the Arma 3 engine is just a heavily tweaked version of the Arma 2 engine, right? They don't have to tweak the entire engine to fit DayZ. They just take some of the already made arma 3 engine, add it to the arma 2 engine, and add their own special dayz stuffs. By your logic, arma 3 also sucks ass because it's heavily based on the arma 2 engine.

    Wear on items/Weapon addons

You know what else is super realistic? Healing broken bones with morphine and fixing major bullet wounds with bandages and cooked meat. Stop posting suggestions based on realism. It's stupid.

    Disabling shadows OP!

And screw over the people with weaker computers? Not everyone can spend money on a brand new computer. Even people with jobs. My computer is enough to handle everything I want it to handle - why should I be forced to buy a new computer just for realism in a game that breaks your legs with doors and heals them with a morphine injection?

    Battleye Banned (Marker Making)

You can get banned for placing markers on the in-game map? I don't think that's why you were banned, OP. I've done it a few times on accident when I started playing and I never got banned.
  14. You know the reason DC'ing from combat isn't something an admin can ban for? Because proof is hard to get. You admitted to it. That's enough poof right there IMO.

    Dogs as Detectors of Humanity

I personally don't like any humanity detectors at all. If they way I assume they work is correct, murders = less humanity. But what if almost every murder you have on you is from someone who shot first, but didn't have the 5 kills necessary to become a bandit? If you don't want to become a bandit, would it be necessary to simply not kill anyone, regardless of whether or not they shot first? I just think the humanity meter doesn't take into account a lot of variables besides killing. It might encourage someone to kill another person who might have been friendly.
  16. What if he was some guy sniping the unarmed-killing snipers in Elektro? What if he was the good guy? Obviously, if he was shooting unarmed people in elektro, he would have just killed you as well. Bandit killers can easily become "bandits" because of how many bandits they kill. This is, of course, assuming he wasn't a hacker. If he was, props.
  17. This has possibly been suggested already, but I made a quick search and didn't find anything like this. One of the big complaints on the forums right now is the amount of KOS in the game. From what I can tell from the general discussions forum, the majority of players KOS because they are scared of being KOS'd themselves. Currently, you can yell friendly in VOIP, however, many confrontations occur out of the VOIP range. There are several ways we could possibly fix this. 1. Nametags. Of course you guys don't like them, but they serve for easy identification. Of course, these are basically useless for identification on servers without global chat because Suggestion: Have nametags only pop up when you place your cursor on the player for, say, 5 seconds without break. This will completely eliminate sweeping to find players in the area, while allowing quick identification of a player. 2. Global Chat. Global chat is pretty cool. Not only does it give you something to read while traveling long distances, it can also be used to communicate when in confrontations further then 100m. Combined with nametags, you can quickly ID your opponents and learn if they're friendly or not without danger (considering you see them and they don't see you.) Of course, there should be a player option to turn global chat on/off. This combination should allow more survivors to act friendly without the risk of others KOS, while still allowing bandits to do what they do with no punishment. Once again, sorry if this has already been suggested.

    Your unluckiest/luckiest moments in DayZ?

Luckiest: Finding two L85's in a tent in the middle of the NW airfield.

    A Server without players?

    Someone already told you.
  20. Person A shoots person B. Person B decides to cry on the forum about how person A sucks and how the community sucks. Person B also decides to become a bandit. The result? Both person A and person B are now bandits. Person B now sees person C and shoots person C in the face. Person C cries on the forums and now KOS as well. Person A, B, and C are now bandits. The cycle continues. Had person B not changed into a bandit, person C wouldn't have become a bandit either. The entire cycle of banditry is avoided. Everyone still has eyes. The point is: You don't have to shoot on sight just because someone did it to you. Dying is part of the game. If you don't like the community, maybe you should try to change it instead of becoming the very thing you don't like. Just my 2cents.
  21. I have yet to encounter a hacker. Just gotta know which servers to go to I guess, because I generally only play on one server.
  22. Then why the fuck play the chess game in the first place? Don't get into situations you can't win. Learn to play smarter. Also, some people kill for stuff. Just sayin'
  23. The problem isn't that it takes so and so shots to kill zombies. That's okay. I like that. Zombies are harder to kill now. Great. The problem is that a human can take 6 or so shots to the chest with a .45. That's retarded. What's even more retarded is that AK shots do more damage even though they are of a lower caliber. And it makes more sense in real life to aim for the center of mass. Why the hell would I be aiming at the much smaller and much harder to hit head when hitting the body should incapacitate the person most of the time?
  24. ShinySnack

Why is this advertised as a Zombie game?

I think the main problem is that zombies only exist in the cities. It makes it almost too easy to survive. Hunting knife+Hatchet+Matchbox = Infinite food+blood. No threat from zombies. This makes the only threat PvP. Add zombies to the countryside and you might fix some of these problems. Just my two cents.
  25. So it's not just me? Good to know. It seems unplugging and plugging in your router/modem seems to fix the problem. But you have to do it every time the problem occurs. Kinda annoying.
