If this has been brought forth before I am sorry, I did some searches and have found nothing to compare what I am talking about. I know the idea of a locked server is very taboo in the world of DayZ. However, this idea has come to mind after watching many streams. If there was a private locked server for streamers only it would cut down on a lot of issues when individuals stream. There are so many issues with this concept I have put forth, but the Idea still holds as something that could possibly be done for streamers publicizing this fantastic mod. Hackers run rampart through servers causing havoc, and placing bad names onto some server owners. With the "protection" of a locked server the number of hackers would be far and few compared to what these people face in the wild of public servers. There are obviously some issues with this, but the benefits may outweigh the cost. For instance, every stream I have viewed has had some form of issue with a hacker or stream sniper. Allowing a private server for these streamers would cut down hackers and stream snipers to a very bare minimum. One of the many repercussions of this would be that many streamers would probably refuse to use this service because of the exact same reason it was made. Most of the action going on in the server would be recorded through multiple streams, and thus raising the chance of someone getting sniped from another streamer (how would we even prove it though?). Let alone the fact that there is no true way of curbing the individuals that are allowed into a server just by slapping a password onto it. Problems such as who is allowed into a server such as this also arises. What about friends of streamers? And who knows, the entertainment value of this could plummet just because it's only a server of people filming what they are doing. However, there would be enough video evidence to put together a very comical compellation of videos. Again, we think of who the hell would run a server like this? It's not like we can trust just anyone when there are some really tainted individuals in the world. How would they decide who is allowed into the server that they run? Looking through what I have said, this does really seem like a stupid idea. But, the idea is still put out there as something for you all bicker about. Who knows, maybe it won't even be read. Who the hell am I even to talk about a game I don't even own.
