I think DayZ needs a loading screen with a giant zombie-face.
-
It's quite simple... First you try to get good equips, so meanwhile you are forced to deal with zombies... If you get awesome guns, you're obviously not going to shoot down lousy zombies with it. I think you should see zombies and players as the same thing: a threat. You are on your own, you have to survive...so kill every mofo that gets in your way I'd say.

Box of Matches very often can be obtained from Supermarkets. I usually get mine from the Elektro supermarket, 9 out of 10 times it has matches available.

How many accessible servers are there really?
Suzie (DayZ) replied to Sula's topic in New Player Discussion
Why don't you guys simply use the ingame server filter in the server browser? -
how can you tell if the server is night or day?
Suzie (DayZ) replied to jmido8's topic in New Player Discussion
My server's use the actual timezone of my country which is GMT+2. I'm aware that for example people from USA have issues with night time on my servers :P -
how can you tell if the server is night or day?
Suzie (DayZ) replied to jmido8's topic in New Player Discussion
As previously stated: many people is often a daytime server. However, I still think server-hosters should get forced to use the correct timezone. There is a day-night cycle for a reason. Side chat got disabled to enforce realism of the mod, I think the same should happen for servertime. -
I'd even buy Arma 2 CO for DayZ if it was $50,00.... This mod is just that much worth it. The fun you get in exchange of the lousy fee for buying Arma 2 CO makes you realise you spent your money well.

Water Bottles, How Many Is Too Many?
Suzie (DayZ) replied to Bramacgar's topic in New Player Discussion
I never get more than 1 water bottle. You'll find plenty of soda's along the way, use your water bottle for emergencies. -
+1 1.7.2.4 will be awesome. Best thing is that they've countered the ALT+F4 morons too :D

Tips on Not Getting Shot on Sight
Suzie (DayZ) replied to Taggert1313's topic in New Player Discussion
Decent tips, although not guaranteed to work. The only real way to guarantee you wont get shot on sight is to not play the game. People might say their friendly, and kill you anyway. People might agree to team up so you can help them get nice gear, then end up shooting you anyway. Long story short: Don't trust anyone except the people you know in real life, and even THAT is risky. -
Question for Snipers - Crawling Through Open Fields
Suzie (DayZ) replied to Obsolescence's topic in New Player Discussion
It's usually the best to avoid open fields to begin with. If you, however, have to cross one and expect possible sniper fire, just run. Remember that snipers don't have large clips and will work to make every shot count. If you run like a mofo, they are most likely to miss, thus wasting ammo on you. Look at it this way: Every time a sniper misses a shot, equals one less kill for that player. -
What do youy do if you see a player
Suzie (DayZ) replied to Kaffarov37's topic in New Player Discussion
Check if other player is just starting out with his character or not. If he is: Spare his life and kill him when he's well equipped. If he isn't: Kill him So eitherway, I'll attempt to kill them. I trust nobody, not even myself. -
Lesson #1 of DayZ: Trust nobody except people you know and trust IRL. People might be friendly and help you out, but if you find something really cool they might just find it worth it to kill you anyway.

Alright, it's about time I do some minor promoting. Some people, who often play on one of my servers, might be aware of the "community" im setting up. This is basically intended for people who enjoy playing on my servers, which are 1 official DayZ Server and 1 non-official server focussed on more friendly play. You can ofcourse visit my community at http://www.suzie-dayz.com My servers can be found by filtering on "Suzie". I wouldn't say it's like a "clan" that I'm running, but more of a place to get together and get to know eachother a bit while enjoying this great game. Everyone is welcome to get on board of the fun-train. Know that on my servers and within the community we only ENCOURAGE friendly play, we do not force it. DayZ is supposed to be a pvp-type game, and we don't intend to take away that part.
-
I'll be glad to welcome you to one of my servers anytime. We are also trying to find people to supply American servers so we can provide servers with nice ping to everyone.
-
In 1.7.2.4 that should be no more issue :D I've read that the ALT-F4 strategy has been fixed in that upcoming patch. Actually, the patch was due today if i'm right!

This is why people say that kicking your PC won't solve anything.

Where do I start looking for camps?
Suzie (DayZ) replied to Sinnwin's topic in New Player Discussion
I have some "basic loot spots" to get my starting gear. Good places to start looking for your items are: - Airstrip west of Cherno - Basically all around Elektro (big city, but not hard to survive without weapons, unlike Cherno) You'll pretty much get at least a few guns and some medical supplies along the way, maybe some nice tools as well. -
Holy, what a rush. A newbies kill or be killed story.
Suzie (DayZ) replied to ryan211's topic in New Player Discussion
To me, other players are just "shoot here!"-targets. -
First meeting with a survivor and my first murder
Suzie (DayZ) replied to Sathel's topic in New Player Discussion
My first kill on DayZ: Just found a Lee Enfield and wasted pretty much all its bullets on zombies. I met a player who also had a Lee Enfield, and I needed some ammo. Grabbed my Makarov and killed him, just so I could loot his ammo. -
ok I pick up an empty tin can, now what?
Suzie (DayZ) replied to Fluttershy <3's topic in New Player Discussion
When replying to a topic, it's common sense to reply with a message that has something to do with the topic title. Since the topic is about empty tin cans, my replies are about them, as well. Also, it's not even annoying me a bit, basically because I never really cared about other people's opinions about me, and probably never will. Btw, you're making a big deal about nothing (just "stating the obvious") -

Suzie (DayZ) replied to Fluttershy <3's topic in New Player Discussion
Seems to be relevant enough to let you write down 2 more lines. But honestly, if you have anything to bitch about do it against me personally, don't infest threads with it. It makes you look quite stupid if you complain about others posting irrelevant stuff, while you are doing the same in the end. -

Suzie (DayZ) replied to Fluttershy <3's topic in New Player Discussion
It's a thread about empty cans, which is already qualified as trash. Btw I should get myself checked, according to you I just got a sudden sex-change :o -
