Read a fascinating article on NYT today related to the hype train. http://www.nytimes.com/2013/11/17/opinion/sunday/youre-so-self-controlling.html It's full of many other fascinating examples, I suggest you check it out. So in a nutshell, a lot of people have become emotionally attached to the SA development and ideally we would see reliable devblogs at regular intervals (as "reward" for waiting). By "relible" I mean providing a definite sense that as the time passes we are getting closer to achieving the ultimate goal ("Alpher release"). When the timing of the reward becomes uncertain or the information within only creates more doubt or hints of delays people start acting erratic and impilsive.

I define RED as 'will be released in a few hours' or 'in the process of being released'. There is still too much uncertanty over how the stability confirmation test and the 'final rehearsal' will go.
-
Looking forward to some awesome naked gladiator fights melee soon!

As my grandpa used to say, - Three things are always 25 years away: Nuclear Fusion reactors, Artificial Intelligence and DayZ Standalone.
-
They are pushing new builds and testing at 3 in the morning! I'm starting to believe Rocket really wants it out.
-
Marek, he is gone now but his brother Ondrej is in.
-
New build uploaded, BiS CEO and some senior people are on!
-
New build uploaded to test server - 112510 , interesting.
-
Oh no! Is it that time of the year again? It better be out *before* December!
-
It's down again, looks like they crashed it :(
-
Nobody knows if they fixed the onPlayerConnected crash or if their performance fix even worked fully or partially. But since the Alpha is not out yet I must logically assume it did not work.
-
According to Rocket none of it is an Alpha blocker, only server performance is.

For sale: baby shoes, never worn. I think the saddest thing in the world would a kid with cancer whose last dying wish was to play StandAlone :(
-
Looks like the pushed the latest SVN build to steam but replaced it with XXXXX in the server name :)
-
It's listening on the same ip:port as the "old one".
-
They renamed the server to SVN development server and Rocket has been sitting there alone for 45 minutes! Exciting times!
-
You can still try playing the old way. Spend 5 hours in game to find a rifle, then spend another 5 to find a bullet, shoot once, maybe you miss, go back to step 2. The quick gearing up is a thing of the past.

My mouth feels ready. Monday/Tuesday folks!
-
Has the weekly MP test started? 22 players atm!
-
I think Steam graph shows the number of people who launched the game through Steam, not people in the server. It's possible they cannot join because of the critical join crash bug :( Not looking good.
-
LOL, They said they have a regular weekly MP test, last one was on Thursday (you can see the 29 player peak on Steam graphs). That was when the server was renamed to weekly MP test. There has not been one this week, so logically it's happening today (Thursday already here) or possibly Friday. It's only logic, cap.
-
There should be a scheduled MP test later today, we will see it on steam graph.
-
Let's pray the new build on the test server includes the optimizations and MP test tomorrow goes well.
-
Strange... They must have a secret test server hidden somewhere... Realistically according to the chat they say the optimization code has been rolled back to the svn branch, even if they fix the opnplayerconnected critical bug today, merge the code to the stable branch and do a large multi test tomorrow and it their hope for performance improvement is confirmed, it maybe too late in the week to do a release. So next week seems more realistic.

Man, you like playing dangerously, don't you? I'm spending my cherno gold on Zombie repellent.
