  1. In the stream Rocket explained each well has to be separately "configured" for actions. Apparenty there is one near Pavlovo that works.

    This is how it is in Zomboid, once you cleared a house, this is it. The amount of consumables left in the world is finite and your only hope not to starve is to start farming veggies. I still think some limited re-spawns controlled by the central server at a rate based on player count should occur. But I don't want to see the return of the magical run away 200 m to respawn loot farming. >:(

    how good are the zombies?

    Much better than in the Mod, as of now if you got a pistol you are set as they run straight and die to 2 shots. Melee can be problematic, for melee with a single Z can easily lead to death. I'm still trying to figure out relative effectiveness of melee weapons and items that can be used as weapons.

    I'm I the only one who's aware that the current spawn on restart system is a placeholder? Rocket talked about planning a central loot economy server that will monitor and distribute loot dynamically across the DayZ universe.

    Things you want to see in SA updates first.

    The sound desync bug us pretty funny. Usually it's just what I assume are Zombie noises, but during last session I also experienced random chewing and can opening sounds and at one point something that sounded like REALLY loud Chinese Rock station.
  7. Good question, I suspect this will be the end of Arma 2 DayZ modding. I really love Arma 3 (Altis, character fluidity, animatioins are all awesome), so will keep checking what modders are doing with it.

  13. Why are they deploying new servers on an old build (113466)?
  14. Yesterday there was an update from Arma 3 developers basically saying they are going offline till January,16th. I don't see how other BiS teams would not be getting the same treatment, especially since many DayZ devs are "on loan" from Arma 3. So, I believe if we don't see it out by the next mid week, we can all go back to our normal lives for the next month. When they get back in mid January, they'll be out of focus initially, take another look at the project, find new bugs. And let's face it once the 2014 psychological barrier has been breached, there is really no rush to release quickly. So, this/next week or Q2 2014, before the E3.

  16. Unfortunately what he posted from Ukraine does look like a typical Russian/Ukrainian provincial state run hospital. Although in Russia nowdays you'd have to go really deep into the country side to find such horrors.

  20. I think Rocket is a man of moral integrity and he has never lied to us intentionally. it's just anything he says should have "..unless something unexpected happens" clause added to it. And with this project the unexpected happens with persistent periodicity. It does still boggle my mind how badly he understated the amount of time required in June, well into the second iteration of the project he thought the Release was just around the corner. And he are we are, half a year later.
  21. His every post and video is filled with disclaimers how the initial release WILL be a bug ridden, lacking features, bare-bones test. What are you talking about?

You know, I'm being completely serious here, if he wants more testers, it'd be fair to provide the keys to forum members registered since 2012 and played (actually tested the mod alpha!) the mod since the beginning. I've been killed by ladders, doors, outhouses, trees, rocks, glitched zombies, hackers, I think we can handle the buggy alpha objectively.
  23. You know, it may sound immature but I'm getting really tired of these new reasons Rocket keeps finding to keep delaying the Alpha release. Now, what 150 testers is not enough? What happened to "once we hit stable with 50 people we'll push the button"? If they want a real test with tens of thousands of simultaneous hive/central server connections there is only one proper way to do it - release the Alpha TEST on Steam, gather data and work on patching as bugs are discovered.
