The server I usually play on stuck to 1.7.2.4 till recently, everything saved, but at the end they updated, because clients were auto-updated by six-launcher and player count dropped from 40 to 3-5 during prime-time. And server owners want people playing on their hosts. So now we have 30+ ppl playing with all the patch problems. -

Well.... Alpha was setup to gather statistics on player behavior. One thing that is obvious by now is that people absolutely love building camps and little bases. I do not think it's just to cheat perma-death, I see it more like an end game creative outlet. Rocket understands this hence underground construction coming later with the standalone. -

I'd like to request addition of slavery and human trafficking. Just imagine kidnapping/purchasing some slaves and forcing them to work on your underground structure while you are enjoying sniping in Cherno! -

Agreed, when I worked in Support, I learned that a simple update along the lines "I'm working on it, currently checking such and such logs.." even when I had no clue yet on what the root cause was worked wonders. Takes 3 minutes to write, looks like a human is working on the problem and buys a lot of patience. Going silent is the worst thing you can do. -

The goal of the simulation is survival, sorry you mistaken DayZ for some other unnamed game. Would you rush into PvP if you found yourself on such island in such situation? I net ypu'd run a way and hide in a bush. -
Tents and vehicles not saving is a known issue with 1.7.2.5 (my van that survived the first restart has disappeared), about re-spawning with nothing, I think you tried to log back in to quickly before the server was ready, if you use DyZ Commander the server will have an hour-glass icon next to it.

Server population really dropping off

Well, it dropped rather quickly initially but now seems to have stabilized just under 140K, guess its us hardcore players who are left :) -
My report, my vehicle and tents was still there after upgrade with all pre-upgrade gear. However the new stuff I put was not saved in the tent, I pitched a new tent and saved stuff in the vehicle, old tents and new tent. Will check which was saved after the next restart. According to some reports the Hive will be moved to a new better host soon.
