I really want to do that, but still holding for signs of a bigger MP test.
-
Tester CONFIRMS near release??
-
I have TrackIR, works great with Arma and yes, you can see your feet))
-
Love the model!
-
Watch the player count http://steamdb.info/graph/221100/ when you see Peak hitting 50+ people the Imminence level will go to Orange.
-
Could be useful for "public service announcemenst" :) such as the aforementioned market events, or major threats appearing (hordes, bandit raids)
-
a 10c transistor radio for listening only should not be rare :)
-
I hope new zeds make it into Alpha release)) This is gonna be so much fun.
-
2014+ Confirmed. But seriously, The Final Lap, the Renaming and even famous streamers It's not hard to get exicted, only to be let down again
-
Do you also think that network bubble collision causes collapse of the Higgs wave function?
-
I was trying to make a point that they can't make the jump to a bigger test because performance/stability with ~20 people is poor. This is my take on it.
-
It's psychologically hard to accept. The hard truth is that Rocket will not release a 156 player game after testing with just 22 players. Until we start seeing server at at least 2/3 capacity any talk of an imminent release is just pipe dreams. EDIT: And the fact that it's taking so long to make the jump indicates something is really, really wrong with performance and they do not know how to fix it. Could also explain the lack of devblog, who wants to bring only bad news?
-
Nice catch, jumped to 21 yesterday and now 22. They are making progress.
-
Very true, basic psychology. I'm a developer now but I started my IT career in support for an enterprise backend product, one thing I learnt is that you can by a lot of patience from the customer if you simply if you send them regular responses that look like they were written by a human, like "I'm working, checked such and such logs, have an idea for a w/a but root cause not clear yet, I will update in two hours". This is good as long as you keep the promise for regular updates, the escalation shit really hits the fan if you fail to reply in time and keep the customer guessing if anyone is working on his issue at all.
-
Nicely put, except I think one thing. Rocket suffers from perfectionism, and the longer development goes on the more perfect he expects the "Alpha" to be which in return requires more development time leading to a vicious circle. Sometimes better is worse.
-
To be honest, I only continue to wait and follow the Project because I believe in Rocket's vision. Any other team with such such stone-age communication skills would be sent into ignore bin. Nowdays it's expected to have active developer Q&A forums, regular videoblogs and twitter updates regardless if you are a KS indie or AAA studio.

I pasted a quote from Rocket up-thread. Once they are satisfied with performance and stability they will move to a larger scale closed test. So far they have been testing with 18-20 people for about 10 days or so. (possibly will involve some youtubers/streamers, but it's just my speculation)
-
Ok, so what is the good news?
-
IT IS NOW JULY 1ST, AND THERE IS NO STANDALONE. I loled so hard.
-
Be real, what this quote from Rocket means is that we are looking for weeks and weeks of more testing.
-
21 Players, we have a new Peak!!! Could this be the sign?
-
We need a sign, before the weekend. The silence leaves me feeling empty inside.
-
It looks like a crowbar to me.
-
True. We are getting very different vibes, from "it's done , all we need is some time to package it up and push the button" implying days till release to "major development and testing to ensure multiplayer performance and stability" implying weeks, possibly months. On top of that devels went into full reverse a month ago from being semi-open about development to full secrecy mode sprinkled with occasional cryptic hints. This information vacuum become a perfect breeding ground for wild rumors, speculation and conspiracy theories. The one thing that can fix this is a real devblog.
