The logging problem is a solved one in many mods (not sure of official branch now has it too). Keep players character for some time in game as an AI controlled clone object if player logs in a danger situation.

My main theory is that we will see a large test with 50+ people on the steam testing server days before release. Alternatively - for whatever reasons they are satisfied with the results of the 22 player test and believe it will scale nicely. Then all is left is the final integration test. Rocket said it will be a "basic" QA acceptance test so it could take as few as 1-2 days. However the fact that devels are still working late and relatively low activity on the test server indicates that all components for the integration test have not been delivered yet. Optimistically the "can't wait with to play with you" comment is a hint that they are now ready to proceed with the final test. Then they need a few days for minor last minute polish work and delivering the server code to the hosters. What this all means is that under the best of circumstances we may see release next week.

A troubling development - the level of testing has actually gone down in the last two days instead of picking up as expected. This could mean issues with integration of the major components have been found and they need to go back to the drawing table and redo it, followed by more testing.

I'm 95% certain in November release, if anything latest update from Rocket only confirmed the time frame. There is no rational argument for it not getting a 2013 release that I'm aware of, if anyone has one please share.
