Most players come from countries that have some form of Free Speech. Racial slurs, hate speech, talk of rape, murder, whatever shouldn't be limited. There is a reason Rocket allows cursing on this forum. Remove the comfort zone as best as possible. If we're in a world that is devoid of society such as Day Z, I'd be sure rape is not only probable but guaranteed. It happens every time the power goes out in a city for more than a few hours, or whenever a disaster hits. You're playing in a world that has not even a hint of structure, deal with it, even if it is sick. And I'm positive that there are people on this forum that would rape if the world fell apart, just like I'm sure they would murder. Just because we're all literate doesn't mean we're any better than a Hutu or Tutsi soldier when you break us down as humans.

My reward is needing food/ammo/drink/medicine and finding it without dying. Sometimes I die. Sometimes I don't. I have fun either way.

Rape, murder, theft, deception, it's all there. It's a game, if it's possible, it can be done and it will be and a rapist is no worse than a murderer, it's equally bad and there are thousands of murders a day in Day Z. Try to rationalize that out or is this your Women's Lib Course talking? If a player wants to shoot another one and then pretend to rape them or tea bag them like you know people have been doing in games for years then that's on them.

I have a beard and rock aviators and now I'm wearing a tee shirt and woodland fatigue trousers. I look pretty hardcore with my coyote pack and Kobra. One of the guys I play with is running around with a ghillie and DMR now and he just shoots everything he sees. Kind of an ass but really, the ghillie is like a cloaking device... ... unless you are wearing one in a grocery store when I stumble on you and shoot you in the face.

Tried putting a tent on the beach today, nothing within probably 10m except shrubs, but it wasn't flat enough. I've only seen them lately on air fields and streets...................... totally pointless. I did see a couple that looked like they had been duped in because they were not on flat ground and were next to big ass shrubs north of Elektro.

I shot a guy doing the raise the roof dance the other day. I just didn't like the fact that he popped out of the woods next to me and my buds. Mainly I didn't want a guy tagging along when we were trying to link up to have a group of 5 guys in TS. I was also trigger happy that day. I've been shooting more people lately, but I did have the best instance of cooperation with 2 people I met up near Nizhnoye and we worked together pretty well. One died to a ladder and the other ended up losing connection, but we were able to stick together without voice for a couple hours.

I finally ran into this on a server today, but it was only like 1 of 6 that I had been on. It was Seattle 3 I think.

I didn't trust anyone today until someone took the time to ask if I was friendly before they shot. This doesn't happen usually, but it was refreshing. That said, when we had "bandits", I got shot by scared survivors 10 times more than anyone in a bandit skin. Eventually bands of people will come together and create safe areas with overwhelming fire power against bandits to create something worth building on. Rocket wants to see where the community takes this, we're really early on in development so we can't say what even the beta is going to look like. It could just end up with rival clans vying for control over a grocery store or fire department, which sounds cool to me.

Because you would dull your knife and we don't have sharpening stones and the cow may actually fight back and then you would die to a cow because the cow is smarter and more adaptable than most Day Z players.

Today a guy named Krusteh had the drop on me, he had just spawned and I had an AK74 and a Czech Backpack so really, I think he should have shot me. He didn't, so I broke my rule of shooting on sight. He asked if I was friendly, I said I was, we linked up and headed north from 3 Valleys. We then met a guy named James in Solnichniy. 3 random guys, one of them with a shoot on sight rule (me) managed to link up by accident without shooting one another and work together to get everyone kitted out. We didn't use mics, just the chat. My faith in players has been boosted a little bit despite being shot at in Berezino multiple times today. I don't think it is deathmatch, I think we still have the ability to make a good community where most players are trustworthy.

I live in California, if this spreads I'm offshore the next day.

I think it has been implemented very well, I'm sure some ass will moan about "why can't I get wood from any tree", well, it works well enough and doesn't take up any slots for stuff like food or ammo.

Hard copy from BIS doesn't work with steam. You will not be able to buy DLC (not that there will be anymore, but PMC makes the skins look WAY better) from steam and have it work. If you buy from the bistudio.com you are giving money directly to the Devs, and non to third party. Stop being so fucking cheap and buy ArmA 2 CO.

I'm a bandit because I shot like 3 people in self defense. That said I have hunted before, and it is quite thrilling being the watching death in the shadows. Right now I just want to spawn with some blood and out of the debug forest.

SCARCITY Right now trading isn't viable because of the whole "Oh I'll just kill you thing", but most stuff can be found in abundance anyway so there is no reason to trade. I think antibiotics need to be the most valuable item, to the point people will trade NVGs for them. Yeah, I want the plague to ravage us.

I used to play COD, but I've been stuck on ArmA II for about a year now.......... like really stuck, it's the only game I've cared to play. I build missions and all that cause I like the freedom it brings. I even play with a large group on a regular basis and we've been doing so for about a year. Now, I also shoot everything that moves that I don't know. I don't view ArmA as anything near COD because it's slow and methodical and pot shots can get you killed so I make my bullets count. I shoot on sight because I've been shot in the back, betrayed, had my shit stolen, sniped, and everything else from a PVP aspect BY SURVIVORS. Seriously, I've been shot by 3 bandits and one of those was a mutual kill. Survivors shooting at me? Killing me? Please, I've lost count. COD is a fun game in it's own right, it's just not for me anymore. There are no perks in ArmA, there are no unlucks and wasting ammo or taking low percentage shots is not advised. Besides in deathmatch in COD I've shot thousands of people, usually between 20-30 a match. I think I've shot like 10 people in Day Z over a period of like 40 hours. That stat right there means a world of difference. Dont' wanna die? Go to Berezino. Too far? Then die on the beach or in Cherno or Elektro with the rest of the lazy people.
