    Why Day-Z Fails

QFT. I love this game. The only reason it fails isn't even the mod's fault in the first place. Hackers stealing or destroying every vehicle or tent on the map is why I hesitate to submerge myself fully. It is difficult to fully enjoy a game when you know it is only a matter of time before all your well laid plans are blown to pieces because Arma II is so hacker friendly.

All (8) of our vehicles gone. How?

    DERRRRRRRRRRP.

This. Same deal with us. 6 vehicles, all miles and miles apart in various remote locations, 10 tents, all gone within hours. Nobody is that lucky or unlucky. Nobody. If you do a bit of google research, you will find that the Arma II engine does most of the work for the hackers. They simply turn on functions already existing in the game. Someone in another thread linked this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQSf3-cYWUo There are hackers in all games, but the problem with Arma II is that there are public downloadable .exe programs b/c BI is severely inadequate.
  4. No one with a brain is blaming DayZ for the prevalence of hackers. But because it is in Alpha doesn't excuse Arma II and BI either. Everyone that says they've never seen a hacker. I question whether you would know even if you did. Most hackers don't turn on God-mode. They just spawn their own weapons every time they die while we scratch and claw for a hatchet. We search endlessly for car parts and vehicles to repair and the perfect hiding place, only to have them stolen in less than 24 hours because hackers can see every vehicle on the map. I'm not here to complain, I only want to point out that I understand those who are complaining or "whining" as you put it. I get it. If I lose the Military Off-roader because the MOD crapped out, fine, I can live with that. But when I lose the truck in a day, along with everything in it because every vehicle has an inherent homing device, its very frustrating. #justsayin

    Vehicles disappeared (US2)

I find that the only "safe" place to park a vehicle is off the map. I realize the lameness of this, but there are so many hackers(I use this term lightly as the game engine does most of the work for you) that can see the location of every vehicle at all times. It's really a shame, I absolutely LOVE this mod. But despite taking every precaution in multiple locations on multiple servers, we have not been able to successfully hold onto a nice vehicle for more than 24 hours. This doesn't apply to bikes or ATV's or the like, as most people don't care enough to steal them.

    Problems Connecting to Certain Servers

You guys aren't the only one, I have 2 friends with the exact same issue. Everything was working fine before and now every server gets stuck on loading screen.

In game bandwidth usage(stuck at loading screen)

Tried your suggestion today. Didn't seem to make much difference.
  8. Hello, First time poster. Like many others, I have had some trouble joining games since the latest update. Although I have fixed my own problems with the game, some of my friends have not. After trying every suggestion in the forums, we still have 2 friends that are getting stuck on loading screen. After playing around with some settings and a few hours worth of trial and error, I have found only one common denominator with the people that are still having problems loading the game. Their in-game bandwidth, the bandwidth listing under your ping if you mouse over their name on the character list is always nearly triple everyone else's. Every single person who says "Joe Blow is losing connection," in red in the bottom left hand corner has 1500ish bandwidth. Their ping could be fine. My couple friends that can't seem to join ANY server no matter what both have 1500 bandwidth, even if they have 45 ping. I have a friend who plays on US servers with us that lives in the UK, his bandwidth never goes over 800, but people 50 miles from the server are at 1500. I don't even know what exactly that bandwidth number means. Is that bandwidth that particular player is using to play? Is it bandwidth the server is using? I have no idea. However, I thought that maybe someone smarter than me would make use of this information. I know there are a lot of frustrated players out there and I'm hoping that maybe this can help. Cheers, N.J.

You're not listening. We can't join UPDATED servers. Still getting wait for host screen, same screen I get on outdated servers, same screen I get on updated servers, same screen I get on EVERY SERVER.
