Rocket, Please don't. (Dayz on Console).
deadlymass replied to alcatraz968's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
Available for Pc/Xbox/ps3 = console game with mouse plugged in. Watered down complexity, movement, freedom, customization, last and specifically least...graphics. Maybe they can get those EA BF3 marketing guys to tell us it'll be a real game for half a year then release another dumbed down cookie cutter fps and pretend they just didn't know better on their way to the bank. One of the main draws of dayz is it is PC only. This doesn't guarantee a good game, but it sure a hell makes a game with good gameplay more likely. Very disappointed this option is even being considered. If you take any developers promise that a game being developed for both PC and console will be "pc focused" you are incapable of learning from experience and just waiting to be burned once again. Fill the game with hints, tutorials, easy modes and DLC to your hearts content, PC gamers have wizened up to this crap and will not be purchasing it. -
I think they increased the hunger/thirst rates to make running 30min to your camp take a llittle more planning. I don't know the values previously vs what it is right now but subjectively it seems you burn food and water much faster now. I didn't start playing until after bandit skin wasn't in the game so time will tell on what I think about it.

Look at how hungry and dehydrated he is. Probably ran for quite some time, geared up at camp and screenshotted. Can't you just create a new profile to reset your own humanity?

In a real life situation like DayZ, 'basic' weapons would be very common.

Can you imagine firing a Mosin in dayz? It'd be so lound zombies would come from other servers to investigate the noise. -
What do you do when you have a ghillie and decent weapons?
deadlymass replied to General Dickbutt's topic in DayZ Mod General Discussion
I raid a clan's camp, steal their helicopter and a truck then the clan resets their server mid flight and I die next time I try to log in. US905 for life. The hunt for a ghillie begins anew. -
If the onus is on me to prove I wasn't logging out during battle, I have no recourse. Your server, your rules and I respect that so we agree to disagree and I will play elsewhere. Thanks for the response either way, I was confused by "battle disco" which was a term I wasn't familiar with and I pictured people firing AK's into the air while stayin alive.

Hi m4d fellas. Quick question: I was just banned a few minutes ago for "battle disco" which I assume, means disconnecting during battle to avoid death. My Dayz sessions crashed to desktop twice about 30min prior to this, and I was in the wilderness and very much not in combat. I was at the time, helping a friend so I was near another player but no shots fired by anyone the entire time I was in your server. Please elaborate on the reason for this ban and at the very least, if it's not overturned as a mistake, I can avoid doing something in the future on another community's server resulting in a ban. Thank you.

As pistols go, 1911 is the defining year for most pistol design all the way up to modern times. Hopefully this is a bug or we get some official statement on the effectiveness of pistols after this recent patch.

We have been trying to play and all our typical servers (normally no crosshair, no nametag) have them now. Anyone else experiencing this? Can't find any good servers without nametags enabled.

Finnally found out today that friendly players are not a myth

I had a complete stranger agree to follow me w/ a hatchet while I tried to escape from Cherno w/ 500bp and good items. Covered me each time I passed out, which was prob once every 2min. Took quite a while. He got shot right as we neared the edge of the city and lost his legs. I craweled next to him all the way out of the city covering him w/ my m16. Guy said he had to log out, couldn't quite make out what he said his steam name was. Good people do exist. That guy saved my life when all he had to do was hack me to pieces and take all my stuff.
