Once again, it's asking to get camped by snipers.
-
First off.. if it worked like other cars it'd probably be broken 24/7 and easily camped as it goes on the same route. This would be so easily camped by snipers, or anyone really.

The funny thing is it isn't beside the point. It is in alpha, and you are doing nothing but testing it. If you're not interested in testing the game then don't play the alpha. Edit: Btw this isn't a suggestion.

I was actually surprised read this. I feel like zombies are way too easy. I don't understand how you die that many times from zombies, or how you have to alt F4 because of zombies. Seriously, I've done this once or twice, but I never HAD to. People don't give a shit about zombies in this game. You run through a building with 2 entrances and you lose all the zombies chasing you, also works with some bushes. I think the zombies should be HARDER. They need to be a threat because currently they is none. People only worry that while shooting a zombie, someone will hear and come kill you. I personally think zombies need to be able to run inside. I think ammo should be scarce. I agree that people should maybe start with a crowbar (because hatchet is a tool). Zombies need to be an actual threat. Then the melee weapon should have durability, so you don't just kill all the zombies with that instead of wasting precious ammo. This way people would think twice before unloading clip after clip on players because they'd care that they might not be able to find more. Maybe their melee weapon is broken. Maybe they don't want to aggro the actually threatening zombies with the gunshots.

What? Don't see the problem in what? The game would be absolutely boring if there were 0 competition as the zombies don't provide any threat.

I'm pretty sure it's in alpha, not beta. Either way, the problem with the "rewarding the bushmen" part is that people know the spawn points for stuff on the map. People would check these 24/7 as they're not random spawns like helicopter crashes. "By the time the game is out of Beta 60% and more of the people will not be playing anymore... which is also a FACT!" I don't know how you can make this claim, or what you based it on. If you just pulled the percentage out of your ass and called it a fact then just remove that sentence. "Zombies in general are very stupid creatures they rely on brute strength," yet you say they should run slow with their brute strength. I don't really get how slower zombies is any different than running zombies into a barn where they run slow so you can shoot them. Personally I think zombies need to be able to run fast, probably slightly slower than they do now, indoors. Threatening zombies would make people need to deal with them more than they do now. The problem is you can go to a city, find a gun, and find an entire inventory worth of ammunition for it (Lee Enfield). Then I think you need a way to deal with zombies if you don't have a gun. This is where a melee weapon would be nice, as they would be more common. To make melee weapons not the only thing used on zombies you could make them have durability. This way people's melee weapons would break, they'd need ammo to shoot zombies, and wouldn't be so careless to shoot all of their precious ammo at other players. This could also encourage teaming up because if you aggro hordes of zombies you might not be able to shoot them and kill them all before they run up to you in the house or wherever before you get hit some. You'd probably need someone else helping you kill them. Overall, some good ideas, and some bad.

I understand that you're frustrated, but give suggestions in a more civilized manner. I don't know if you live in some area that doesn't have servers hosted so you feel the need to host your own, but you can always stop paying for it.

Future Suggestions for Standalone DayZ
Kizoja replied to Sticky (DayZ)'s topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I feel the major problem with the game at the moment is the lack of threat from zombies and the abundance of ammunition. I can go to one city find a Lee Enfield, and then I can fill my backpack with Lee Enfield ammo before I leave the city. Guns and ammunition need to be scarce. I feel melee weapons should be usable while having a rifle equipped along with an easy way to switch to it. If there were melee weapons I feel like they need durability , so they aren't the preferred choice for killing zombies. People need to think twice before wasting their precious ammunition on players because if there were threatening zombies and they had no melee weapon because it broke then they might want to save that ammo to kill zombies (this sentence is talking about if these changes were implemented). -
The "Official" FIX on trust in DayZ
Kizoja replied to Bladez 0f Fury's topic in DayZ Mod Suggestions
I don't think this really fixes much other than you and your friends inability to communicate. I don't think friendly fire should be turned off. It takes away from the immersion. You don't have to worry about communicating and shooting your friends, so you just shoot anyone on sight because it doesn't matter. -
I agree that it's in alpha, and it's foolish to say the mod is failing. I believe this thread belongs in the suggestion thread, and could be a little more formatted towards giving suggestions instead the bitchy tone is has.

But it's not hardcore. You don't need the best guns to just run around and shoot people. The best guns just let you do it from long range so the newbs can't find you. Losing your stuff is like oh well.. I'll go to town and find an enfield and a gazillion ammo because apparently every damn house in the game was stock piled with ammunition. It's dumb, ammo is WAY too abundant. It needs to be scarce, but even with that zombies need to be a threat. This way people will think twice before blowing clip after clip killing people instead of saving it to protect them from zombies. Don't get me wrong. I enjoy what the game offers now, but it could use some tweaking. I'm just pissed I got teleported by a hacker as soon as I joined a server and he started unloading on people, so I aborted. I logged into another server and I'm in the middle of the airfield (I was at stary sobor, w/e it's called). The bad thing about this is when I'm in the middle of the airfield every direction I look is artifacting so I can't even see to run away.

Rocket said they wanted to handle the servers themselves but people wanted to host their own servers. Don't bitch because you pay to host a server for a game in alpha.
-
Didn't work for me.

Finally some people give some legitimate feedback. I can see where the two previous posts are coming from, but I also feel like if they polished the mod up a bit and some core issues the idea could work. It might be worth the effort though. It would suck for streamers to. Someone finds out where some streamers play on regularly and stream snipe.

I don't think the instability of the current servers is really an issue to bring up. Bringing up this issue is like saying they will NEVER be capable of having stable servers, therefore you can never have a good feature like this.
