  1. I feel there are enough immersion breaking issues in the mod as it is so this isn't really a serious issue but if others do, so be it. I would say this....

    Don't put out another update just to correct this. It isn't worth the extra bandwidth.

    The number of custom food/drink items seemed extreme to me. Maybe reduce to a small number and make it like an employee of the month (update release) thing. For each update let players vote for say three people who have contributed to the community and have an item dedicated to them till the next update. Smaller number of custom items would reduce the immersion problem and make the recognition mean more. Don't limit it to forum mods, include community devs.

    Not at the moment. To be honest I'm not sure it would fit well o this map being there is only one airfield.

    is the l85a2 ingame?

    I do not think so. I have not added anything in beyond what basic Namalsk has.

  3. As for the street lights I'm not really opposed to seeing them in or out but from my experience playing on servers which do have them enabled they don't really work right anyway. Either you see the bulb lit and no light shining down or you see the light shining down and the bulb is black. Maybe this is just a problem with the implementation on those maps or something else but if they don't work properly any immersion they add is immediately broken anyway.

  4. Was that the seattle server, if so there was a screw up with the vehicle spawning. Its fixed now and there are players happily running around in vw's and helis. Apologies for not amending earlier.

  5. Thanks for doing this Lee. Seems like you have come around to the right methods. Keep us private hive hosts in the loop with downloads of files for new maps and you won't get any more complaining from me. And you're right it is nice to have lingor using the same code base as the rest of the maps now.

  6. If they were having the multiple copies of the same vehicle issue that is kind of sad. It is a known issue due to improper DB install/update. I know because I have run into it myself. Of course I'm just running a server in my spare time. They are a for-profit company and probably should not be deploying DB updates so haphazardly while taking customers' money.


  7. I've definitely learned some things with all of this. And moving forward, vilayer is already talking to the original map creator as well as releasing the server files.

    Regardless if Vilayer copied the code for this port (which I do not agree with if they did), ViLayer ported 4 other maps before all of this, so they are very capable of doing it on their own.

    Keep in mind that Lingor was a mod that was developed by a specific group who tried to keep it locked down (again without the map maker's consent). The community reverse engineered that code and re-released it. That was the first non-chenarus map you supported if I am not mistaken.

    That mod was only on those servers authorized by dayzlingor.tk and using their hive originally. Within a week or two of that release we had far more servers running private hives with Lingor and soon enough the hosting providers were offering it too.

    Trust in the community. Stick with open projects. We'll all benefit from it. We have been the whole time.

    This mod has nothing to do with Tunggle other than the maker posted about it on their forums. Yes it can be used with tunngle just like every other dayz private server package or map. It can also be run on a normal server just like Vilayer does it. The fact is that if dayz commander had supported this mod when it was released, two weeks earlier than Vilayer's version, it would be just as popular. Vilayer provides bandwidth for free to dayzcommander so they supported their mod which is only usable on HFB and Vilayer and all other hosts, both commercial and private are left out in the cold.
