To be fair, if his post hadn't ticked that box for the day, yours certainly has. Thank you, come again.

Not to mention that if you're in first person you can't look over your shoulder.

I'm at work now so does anyone tested out the following patch notes yet?
ninjaontour replied to crazyandlazy's topic in General Discussion
We've been testing this for the past week on the experimental servers. Once it reaches the stable servers it's tried and tested, how do you not all know this? -
What additional text were you expecting? He posted a screenshot for the sake of the fidelity, just to share it. Where's the stipulation that it has to be supported with some kind of narrative? Take a hike, ya borin' walt.

Simmer down, spunky.

Coyote eff tee dubs.

We are, however, all on the internet.

Tl;dr - OP and his friends almost outsmarted a group of idiots. I fail to see how that's a representative sample of bandits. There are plenty of us around who wouldn't have been so ham-handed in dealing with you. Pride comes before a fall, OP.
-
There's no such thing as a No-PVP server, so that's just not going to work. Sounds like the OP isn't too good at surviving. Maybe this survival game isn't for you?
-
Would like to know this also.

I'm guessing that none of you chaps have been playing the "Experimental" servers over the last few days or so. OP - Whenever you logout now, your character will sit down and remain in the game for 30 seconds. If you try to reconnect to the server, you are hit with a 5 minute timer that reads "Respawning in..." What this means for the situation described in the OP is that when your combat logger lay down to log out, he'd have taken a seated position for 30 seconds, and you could have scalped him with your shiny new Mosin. If you missed your 30 second window to make the kill, you now have 5 minutes in which to vacate the area, or assume a different vantage point to watch him log back in, then collect your scalp. I've not been keeping up to date with when this is going into the stable build servers, but from the other posts in this thread it seems to be Wednesday, so you haven't got long to wait before this hopefully won't be an issue any more.

OP is an ass-hat who demands people accept his preferred gaming style without question. Posts a thread specifically questioning the style of other's gameplay.

My experimental experience so far:
ninjaontour replied to DropBearChick's topic in General Discussion
Can anyone corroborate? Sounds a little silly. I've not seen a single coastal sniper in the experimental servers. I'd kind of hoped that the population had a slightly lower concentration of ass-hats than usual. My experience of the experimentals so far has been largely positive. Sure, I've died from starvation a few times, and I've had a couple of 5+ man fist fights around Kamy/Soln direction immediately after a spawn. However it seems that even armed players on these servers are mostly willing to either cooperate, or at least avoid an engagement when it isn't necessary. I think this is mainly due to the fact that loot can be very rare at the moment and a lot of players realise cooperation is the key to survival. However, it may be due to people's lack of confidence in being able to hit a target at range. Once you miss that first shot, your intentions have been shown and you may just end up dead. If I can do ^ that in Elektro in broad daylight on a 40 man server, then gear myself up inside 10 minutes and be on my way to NWAF, there's still hope for humanity. -
I just got a timeout on the experimental server. I know why the feature is there, but I wasn't server hopping. After a restart, I logged back in and my entire screen was a sort of blurry beige colour, artifacts all over. Has this bug happened to many of you guys? I'm wondering if it's a common problem or if it's maybe something to do with how I've configured my video settings.
-
Yeah, opening and closing video options fixed it. Shame I hadn't thought of that before the timeout! Thanks guys.

We NEED some way to identify heros and bandits.
ninjaontour replied to 1S1K-Airborne's topic in General Discussion
TL;DR - OP needs a crutch to tell good guys from bad guys. No, go away. -
The blanket assumption made by your thread title immediately discounts your opinion. Why stereotype based on a game? Anyway, as has been said above, it's an alpha product and you were made fully aware of that before your purchase. My experience in the game has been practically the opposite of what you've described. Both solo and when in groups, I've found a mix of characters who'll KoS, and some who are more than happy to see another friendly to talk to. Sounds like you're not too hot at surviving, so maybe this survival game isn't for you.

Duplication exploit - need for global wipe?
ninjaontour replied to frosti's topic in General Discussion
You can't go saying logical things like that around here, you'll get yourself into trouble, hombre. People will kick and scream about their precious gear on EVERY single wipe, regardless of the disclaimer applied to this Alpha. -
No, that just means that people without NVGs will continue to gamma hack. How is their addition even close to being a solution?

Hell of a long post to essentially say that without character attributes and leaderboards there's no sense in using survival as your end-game. I disagree, but that isn't the point. In the mod we had "Day xxx" on login, and certain servers had leaderboards. Whilst I did enjoy the boards, I feel that either the login notification, or the journal we had later in the mod are both fitting additions. The other side of that is that at the moment, I'm enjoying logging in and not getting a notification of where I am. I'm enjoying not having all the pieces of a map, having to use landmarks, the sun, or the stars to navigate without a compass. It doesn't take hours to move from one side of the map to the other. If you're in Kamenka, and I'm in Berezino, you can make it to me within 20 minutes or so. I've made plenty of cross-map trips to meet up with friends, and can honestly say the only time I've suicided has been as a fresh spawn in the 4th hour after a restart when the east of the map is totally devoid of loot. Just because you don't find something fun doesn't mean everyone feels the same.

So if the M4 spawns are to be decreased dramatically as civilian weapons are added then...
ninjaontour replied to Jezza93's topic in General Discussion
I'd disagree with this on the basis that a 5.56 is a "stopping" round, and a 7.62 is a "fatality" round. The two rounds are designed for different effect when they hit flesh. -
DayZ is NOT fun for new players, which makes me worried.
ninjaontour replied to Murakamo's topic in General Discussion
Sorry OP, but this isn't about holding Bambi's hands. The bottom line here is that your friend has two options open to him. Learn to read Cyrillic text the way most of us have so you can determine your location based on road signs, or learn to navigate with another method such as map/sun/stars. Your entire complaint is "My friend is new and doesn't know how to navigate." Sounds like a "You" problem. -
if you could bring anything (within reason) from dayz mod to standalone, what would it be?

An Issue with the New Spawns AKA "The Kamyshovo Massacre"
ninjaontour replied to wgaf's topic in General Discussion
Sad. -
You don't really understand what's going on, do you? OP - as others have said, this should be implemented soon enough!
