So last night I start a new surviver. After 3 hours I had amassed the best gear Ive ever had. A Gullie suit, M16(which I actually had to drop an AK for in the same building), a bad full of food & drink, all sorts a meds inculding morphine, watch, knife. I was being extra carful getting meself out the big city I'd found all the gear in when all of a sudden my screen goes white on the outskirts near an apartment block. Guess who? Sniper!!!! Same thing happened my last geared surviver. Now I had climed a building to scope the whole area out and find a safe way to leave. Seemed clear but as I said shot in the back from so far away I never even heard the shot. How In the seven f~~Ks of hell are we ment to avoid this sorta end? Listen I'm not crying. The guy took his time and played his role well. Just wana know how to stop it from happening? or at least make it happen less?

So get in get out is the order of the day in big cities. Makes sense. Ok new plan, be the anoying guy takin pot shots at people from miles away!!! Next question, Where am I finding my sniper rifle???

just checked a map. I think I was in Cherno. But If you cant go to these places how do u get geared?

Where else could I go with no map to get good gear?

WarZ is nothing like DayZ, just saying like. And from what I just read it's more p!sh MMO happy clappy bollo@ks! Not interest it it because (i reckon): You will have a magic bag that can hold 50 items You will have fast transit travel(very realistic) You will have a number of WOW players caliming its not as good as WOW was back in the day. You will be able to level up (err puke...) You WILL have to grind Fu@king micro tranctions WILL be available (cant be arsed finding a shotgun i'll just buy one) It's not DayZ Never been a fan boy of anything but I'm gona put my faith in Rocket & co, keep playin DayZ and wait for Rockets inevitable stand alone master piece! Anyone agree?

e7, I'm just a bit confused why people are comparing the games. Only thing that they seem to have in common is zombies. As I said in my earler post it's not about hating, just wana find out if more people are sick of MMO formula and Triple A gloss?

My post is just pointing out that i'st not for me brother. Wanted to see how many DayZer agreed. I'm also playing dark souls atm and have noticed that I have moved towards really hard games. would like to know if more people are moving this direction. AAA gameing has become a little stale for me.....

Thats why it will suck, nothing good every comes from pandering to the masses. Every new Idea that was good in gaming was met with critisim from the masses.

So after a couple of weeks of dayZ i find myself considering that fact I'm no longer a new player. It was a steep learning curve but as my last surviver clocked up 57 zombie kills I can confirm it was worth the pain of learning. My main piece of advise is as soon as the undead are in sight drop to prone and switch to 3rd person if its enabled. I would also advise googling dayZ inventory and lightly reading up on it because I struggled to understand what was going on with it for a bit. Learn to move acess gear to your backpack. Quickly learn to identify which houses you can enter. I spent a lot of time infiltrating zombie infested areas only to find that I couldnt get into any buildings. Trick is to zoom to the windows and if you can see in? then get in!!! My most Importaint advise has nothing to do with game mechanics. Turn the lights off. Get the headphones on and cranked up!!! This game creates an atmosphere like nothing I've played before. Last time I jumped as much at a game was Doom!!! Guys for those of you struggling to learn how to roll in DayZ my advise is keep at it. The rewards for learning the game are some of the best gaming experiances you will have. From jumping outa your seat in the dark when your girlfriend brings you a cup of coffee to feeling like a badass because you downed 57 zombies!! Great work Rocket & Co!!! keep it up & thanks for this gaming gem :)

Cheers Panda. Yeah I'm still learning myself. Got me a military shotgun and done some real damage. Found it at an airfield crawling with zombies and had read it was a hunting ground for vets hunting new players so took me ages to get in and out. Really need to find some matches though!!! need meat to keep me kicking........

Crossbow was my first weapon and first zombie kill. Can't fault it for keepin' the noise down, hense keeping me alive :)

Guys, Silly question but does the game automatically support my mic? When I press the push to talk button the mic sign comes up on my screen. But there is no level indicator to show sound is actually being transmitted. Do I have to connect to the servers teamspeak to be heard or is it done throught then game/server? Checked everywhere for a thread on this, could not find one.

LOL agreed. Crawling around in the dark hearing the groans freaks the hell out me. Best freakout yet came as I stealthed my way towards a building in the dark. Got to the door and stood up, turned into the doorway and there were 2 zombies in the hall? Dont know if the spawned in there or were led there by someone but it scared the sh!t outa me!!!

Thanks for the advise guys. Think I'm just gona use the in game system. Theres something about only being able to communicate with people you are actually near that makes the immersion even deeper. The main thing for me is that I can tell people I'm near that i'm not gona shoot them!!! whether they believe me or not is another issue!!!

Thanks guys. Though that, but when I repeated told a guy with an AK i was friendly and unarmed he shot me in the face. I started to think my mic was not working. Seems he was just a B@STARD!!!! LOL

Mate I'm having the same problem. Low on blood but have some nice gear for the first time, shotgun with loads of shells, revolver + ammo, chec backpack, hunting knife. I read that eating hunted meat recovers far more blood but I cant find the matches to lite my wood!!!! LOL

Hello DayZers, Im Sinsinful (Kieran in game) and I'm an Irish man with a love of all things zombie related. Never played ARMA (was more of a rainbow6 fan) but lovin this mod and very interested in actually playing ARMA2 &3 if I can tear myself away from DayZ. Currenty playing on random UK servers and looking to team up with some casual players! Would welcome a PM from any new UK or EU clans that accept casual players. Good luck out there!
