They don't have the best loot in the game, but they are always being visited by people running deer stand routes and server hoppers. So the chances of finding nothing but cans is pretty good actually.

Sounds good. The "deer stands don't move" argument is funny, as the other guy said neither do crashed helicopters. One could also easily make an argument that they do indeed move. If you're a hunter then you know every year there's deer stands removed, new ones added, others moved to a better location etc. It's quite common actually.

I never join a server where I have a ping higher than 40-50. I'm normally at like 20-30 ping and never have a problem finding servers. I think your problem is you want a server with only 2 to 3 people on it. Those are hard to find at any ping. -

Rocket didn't do this. Arma 2 devs did. Whether there is a way to fix the effects it had on dayz remains to be seen. -
The changes are a joke. Hopefully they find some way that dayz can use it's own dmg tables apart from arma. If you aren't into pvp just get a hatchet and gg, no need for anything else. Even up close against a player a hatchet is stronger than most guns.

This is their first step away from the "realistic" at all cost motto they use to describe dayz. AK damage makes no sense. Professional soldiers love that weapon, some in spec ops even prefer it over the US issued M4 because it is so freakin reliable. -

M1911 or Revolver with 3 mags, rest bandages in sidearm slot. Just one primary weapon. Not picky just no sniper rifles or double barrels. 3 water bottles. 8 or so cooked meat. bout 5 morphine When I start a new life I won't leave town until I get at least an alice pack, map, compass, hatchet, matches, knife. Between building drops and other players I usually get em all pretty quick. -
Keep both. Consoles are good for the awesome title that comes out once or twice during it's lifespan, and your real life friends most likely only play console. Agreed on build your own pc, it's the only way to go. Confused as to why some would suggest not getting an SSD? Definitely get an SSD if you're building a pc today. The prices are cheap and the performance blows away regular hd's. If you think they still cost too much, just get a small one for the OS and a few games, use normal ones for storage.

There's no foolproof method obviously. If you find a coyote backpack or a nice gun, grats you will now never meet anybody who won't try to kill you on sight. -

Must be a bug. From what I've been seeing it doesn't always happen. Sometimes the zeds die to a single shot other times it takes 4 or so. It's not a lag issue at all. -

Noticed the same thing. It doesn't occur 100% of the time for me though. If the zeds make it inside a building it always takes several shots to kill them. If I kill them outside it's the same as before. -

Who cares what ya call em? Neither one is anything I'd aspire to be. Why people think "hackers" are somehow intelligent or something is beyond me. There's not much in this life that can't be easily learned by anybody if given enough time. -
Love the M1911 and the Revolver. The sights are off just a touch on the 1911 but it's easy to get used to. I don't snipe so I feel well armed as soon as i get the 1911. Got a bandit kill way up north yesterday with it.

You should read up a bit on the dev of Dayz. He doesn't exactly cater to carebears. He knows you can't please everybody, there's no point in trying. The "pk problem" as you put it isn't going anywhere. -

Wow say it aint so! The medical term is butt-hurt. The reasons for your demise could be anything, all of them valid. Most likely it's because you were in an area with other survivors competing for the same loot. Why would they let you run in and loot the place when they could kill you and keep the loot themselves? If you honestly have an issue with it then the game is not for you, that simple. -

3dp:on ch: off. Nametags off. I like looking at my char, mainly it's because 1st person is so messed up. Third person in this game is more like a 1st person pov anyway. -
The best locations are the ones you don't post in a forum lol. There is no good location. Some are a little bit better than others, but not by as much as you think. One person with a helicopter could find every tent on a server in no time flat.
