My longest range kill was like 950m, took me 3 shots because the small target was lying on the ground on the stary sobor hill, half into the ground. I was also at the south of stary sobor as a counter sniper. i dont know any other good positions with such a hugh range. Maybe you are lucky and find someone on the roofs of cherno, with a good spot far away i can imagine a good shot if you have a good sight on the server. But honestly, i only see "noobs" on the roofs of cherno sniping/shooting down the new spawns. I would NEVER go into such a vulnerable position. Going up there is just... stupid, i dont know why people think thats a good idea. Yesterday i just shot 2 snipers with a friend on that roof, 700m away. We both killed 1, 2 shots fired at the same time, as they died at the same time. Iam the angel of cherno who protects new-spawns from the foolish evil.

I recently spawned on a server, first i thought iam dead, since i got the "you are dead" screen after i fell down instantly when i connected. As i was fully geared my first reaction was like "OH MY GAWD WHAT HAPPENED!? AAAWWW" Then i did not spawn correctly, i was in the middle of nowhere (i was there before they patched it long time ago when i was wearing a ghillisuit, spawning with nothing) The same happened. I thought "They fixed it" and gave it a try, i rejoined and "fresh" spawned at a random spawn location at the beach, with all my gear back, good job on that btw. I went back to my last logout location and i thought "oh damn a ghilli guy laying on the ground in the trees" and as i checked, it was my own "dead" body with ALL my loot inside. I practically doubled my equipment that way. Well, i didnt really take anything of it but beans and soda, letting the body disappear. Maybe that happened to... the 3 guys. Ps: No, i did not combat logout. I was logging out the day before to go to sleep, that happened when i came back on the next day.

temp partners means: until you shoot them and take their stuff to gear you up again to have a nice comeback?

I dont like the fact that there are people with snipers around who just live for killing. Most of them sit at one high traffic place like NW Airfield, Elektro, Cherno, Balota... and wait for ppl to un in sight. If no zeds are alive nearby, you know there are no ppl moving around, *Serverhop* and hope there will be people now. Patience is needed as a sniper? Nope, you have enough servers with lots of other ppl at the place where you want them to be. Oh, and besides that, everytime you jump you get the "rare" ammo refreshed. So you can sit at one place for.. lets say 23 days and kill 100+ people there. Iam snipering aswell, but not to kill people and jump to the next server. I kill because iam greedy, or in cases of self defense (i prefer +1kill instead of losing all gear, i do not trust anyone anymore due to my bad experience i made within my first weeks of dayz) I sometimes sniper in elektro to protect some of my mates from evil things while they have to gear up again. And of course i might have killed some "new" spawns, but rarely unarmed. In my opinion, they should delete the sniper from the dayz game, it ruins the fun. Iam pretty sure most of the players here died to a sniper without any chance of surviving. Losing all his gear that way is... kinda sad, because you couldnt do anything to prevent that. (spotting a sniper 800 meters away is... kinda difficult) At least the zeroing of the snipers should end at a 500 meters mark or have no zeroing like the dmr. Iam not mad because i got killed. Its more like the knowledge that my items will not be of any use anymore, since iam pretty sure snipers like that dont need anything, and for sure they dont dare to loot their kills because they are too afraid of getting shot. PS: Snipering is not PvP, i consider it as Player versus Victim, its not hard to get 100+ kills with a sniper.

I think dupes and abuser are on every server. Every single guy can dupe by now and you dont even need a tent to do so.

Nope, all the tents are empty and saved before server restarted. If you're lucky, you can find a patrol pack (coyote) in one of them with a bunch of wood piles. However, one tent is well hidden and still contains the loot of your desire, will you accept the challenge to find it?? Not that i did anything there. I freshly spawned and thought i pay the island a visit. most of the stuff was gone by then at around 11am today. It was still a good adventure there, especially because i found the hidden tent i am talking about...

Iam from germany too and sometimes my ping reaches 60+, am i not allowed to play on that server now? :> well i dont care that much... As long as the admin and a few chosen can play on it it should be fine, right? ...

So i already mentioned in another thread that this issue happened to me. Whatever. Today i upgraded to 1.7.2.2, i started to play once, i freshly spawned at the beach in cherno like i did a respawn. (which never happened) I tried it again on a few different servers (this time with the 1.7.2.3 vers.) to make sure i did not join a server which is not connected to the hive. Changed nothing, my position seems to be saved in cherno Beach. A guy in this forum told us that downgrading to 1.7.2 solved this issue. So did i. in 1.7.2 i got my stuff back, my position where i logged out on my last session, everything is fine. Then my friend comes online, i yell at him "dont uprade!" first thing he did when starting the sixupdater: Click on the patch button, like "uh you said something?" So i decided to give it a new try, since everything was working fine for him with the patch. I downloaded 1.7.2.3 again with the sixupdater and then i spawn in cherno again where i logged out last time i played the new version. Iam downgrading again to 1.7.2 now, but will there be a hope that i get my stuff into newer versions or do i have to freeze this version until i die or no server runs it anymore? I dont like to lose all my stuff, nv goggles, gps, m14 with tons of ammo... My player ID is: 1987970 if this might help an admin. Name: Asuma

i can confirm this. i tried to login a few hours ago when i downloaded 1.7.2.2 with the Six Launcher. Its hard to find a server running this Version, but i gladly found one. i logged in and freshly spawned at the beach... i did not log in since yesterday and its pretty impossible that someone shot me. kinda sad... m14 with 12 mags gone, NV Goggles, GPS, toolbox... everything gone now? maybe an admin can reset my position to yesterday? Well, i downloaded 1.7.2.3 too now and tried a few other servers to make sure i didnt pick one server not connected to the hive by mistake. Still at the beach... Player ID: 1987970 Name: Asuma damn patches :/ Edit: I Downgraded to 1.7.2 and i got my stuff back, as McTashio said. Iam afraid of using the sixlauncher update 1.7.2.3 now :/ what do?
