    Can't join any servers!

I had this error before, I pressed ok and it launched the game anyway..... Apart from that I cant help you sorry
  2. thelonewarrior

    Stuck on last loading screen

You are wrong, been trying for 2 hours, tried over a 100 servers and still cant get into a game, including all my regular servers. Shall I keep trying until I get to 1000 failed to join attempts and then you may have something better to add then keep trying LOADS of people are having trouble since the last battleeye update, get over it, theres a serious problem at the moment

    New Battleeye Update problems

Nope, I have problems with battleeye too, I get kicked for battleeye client not responding with all servers with new update or I get stuck on loading. Backrolled it and works fine for 1 game, then forces me to update (i have no control, as soon as I join a second game or rejoin the same first game it auto updates regardless of what I want it to do) So cant play fuck all at the moment

    Donating the a friendly (video)

I discover 2 cars, then hear gunshots nearby. I set out to see if the guy is friendly and then if he is he can have the other car I found. Later on someone shoots at my car, clearly jealous. But I dont run from a fight and spin the car around and jump out.......and get a typical reaction from the common bandit
  5. thelonewarrior

You know you play to much DayZ when...

You see someone appear around a corner in the distance and try to zoom in with the right mouse button.......err yeah ive NEVER done this..............
  6. Yeah I wish I could join you too, but this really annoying thing I have to do before work called 'sleep' keeps me from playing dayz tonight.
  7. Dont post the server publicly or give out your in game names, the moment you do every bandit and hacker is going to be desending upon you, keep the details to pms only and hopefully that will minimise any possible server nukings
  8. My clan has done this a few times, with a group of 6 we locked down towns and anyone who doesnt like our 'dont kill on sight' policy gets removed. With a squad its easily done, but most people move off the server after a few failed attempts to take you out. you really need people you can trust and planning beforehand to pull this off

    Griefer-Hunting

Nope was just saying as I once had an experience with a sniper, all I had was my L85 and was watching some players in the city. They die without a gunshot in seconds of each other and I look around, dont see anyone in the trees etc. I hide behind a bush and see another player get sniped in the field near me, hear the impact but no shot. I look out and see the smallest glint of heat far away and then die. Later I go and check the position on another server, it was behind a series of rocks and he could perhaps see a 50m square in the city and nothing else. Whoever he was had a very small field of view and waited for people to go there, this made sure no one could see him but he could see the front of a supermarket. Thats elite, and by the way it was 1100m away from the supermarket and he never missed a shot. Could have been a hacker with auto aim, but I think he was legit although im pretty sure he had an AS50 thermal to make those kinda shits and spot people so fast
  10. Well i found a rocket launcher today in a car, im saving it for a special occasion which will most likely involve a sniper bullet to my face after I fire the thing
  11. I gotta get me one of those :)

    Griefer-Hunting

Yeah there doesnt seem to be a middle ground with snipers, not that ive seen anyway
  13. thelonewarrior

    Griefer-Hunting

Wellseh lol am i being called a idiot or an elite? or are you talking about the guy who kept trying to kill us? :) Yes we only kill bandits that way though, there were a lot of people running around in cherno that day that we left to their own buisiness. We just take out the ones causing the most grief, like the guy who was sniping unarmed players and then decided to try and server hop to the exact same position each time we killed him, of course he got some of my squad the first time, then attempted to server hop 3 or 4 more times to the same spot which just resulted in him dying over and over again :)
  14. thelonewarrior

    Griefer-Hunting

Nope, we are no better or worse than any other veteran players out there and we dont pretend to be. I simply answered with the information I know. Dankine, nice try in trying to provoke a response to start an argument, you have failed. have a nice day and dont choke on your beans
  15. thelonewarrior

    Griefer-Hunting

Just saying it how I know it, most snipers follow these patterns, have not seen any stick around to get killed for a long while
  16. thelonewarrior

    Griefer-Hunting

This is one of the many things my clan is involved in doing, there are two main types of snipers......idiots and elites. Your average idiot sniper camps the known spots and alt f4s the moment they get shot at or you see them, so make the first shot count. These kind of people usually operate alone and dont stick around long (ive witnissed a few staying in a server for 10-20 seconds and tracking them with dayzcommander through 20-30 servers then coming back to the one im in, sometimes they fire a shot and abort the game straight away) But dont worry, once you fire and they alt f4, you will see them again in a few minutes when they server hop to another location and snipe you from there The elite snipers you will rarely see, the first and last time you will see them before they put a bullet in you is from 1200m away, you may be lucky enough to see a glint on thermal before you go down. They camp unknown and awarkward to reach places you would never expect and those places usually dont have a great field of view, but they are patient and these guys are rare and usually well armed. Morale of the story, 1 hit kill them or they will abort, only about 10% of the snipers ive taken out stick around to allow their body to be looted. Dont bother sneaking up on them, I once spawned in on the hill above sniper hill (was looking for camping snipers myself) there were 3 guys on the hill, 2 with thermal AS50s and one with a normal AS50. I quickly fired a couple of shots into one of them with an L85 and all 3 quit in less than a second, I decided to change position as I knew they were gonna be back. 30 seconds later im sniped, probably by them

    Wait for host

Since the last arma update all I get is 'wait for host' for 95% of servers Or if im lucky I get to the first loading screen and then it never loads. I rolled the game back, but the bug remained. Uninstalled, reinstalled the game and Dayz, reinstall beta patch and battleye.....nothing. The servers I can get onto are mostly private hives, I can sometimes get on normal hive servers but it takes 1-2 hours of trying a load of servers to find even 1 I can play on. Have also tried disabling ALL my firewall settings etc, this does nothing to help So can anyone tell me why this is happening and what else I can do? And other players I know can join the servers fine, so its a problem my end somewhere
  18. thelonewarrior

    Nice guys finish last.

Being friendly to other players and working out if they are friendly is an art in itself. Ignore all these people who say shoot on sight. Situations like these are why we send one guy in if we have no choice but the make contact (maybe theres a couple of guys in the hospital and one of our people needs a blood pack badly) He goes in and makes contact. And as soon as any shots are fired, they all get some nice sniper rounds to the face, never knowing what hit them. Or you can do what I do and observe from a distance, The other day I saw two guys get themselves trapped in the apartments in cherno as one had fired a lee enfield (they were noobs) I moved up to see if I could help them with my DMR (by move up, I mean move about 100m closer from 1000m away) When a guy with an M4 starts sprinting towards their position, he throws a grenade and mows down the zombies and the people come out after about 5mins (I guess they were talking, he teams up with them and they head off into the woods, so now you know both sides there were friendly) I tried to catch up and keep these gusy safe, but I lost connection while trailing them through the woods (I had NV goggles, L85 as well as DMR at night, they had nothing :) ) If you see someone under fire who is calling friendly, go help them out, you have to learn the behaviours of people and learn who are bandits and who are just out to survive. Its easy once you see the habits of people in this game Always have an escape route, and you are better off finding a friendly group to roll with, that way when you are forced to make contact you pretend you are alone and make them think they have the advantage and if they are trully friendly you will know in minutes, even a simple food swap can raise some hope in humanity. And if they do shoot you and gloat, the rest of your team can make swift work of them via sniping or any number of other tactics (placing a sactal charge at your feet while pretending to eat is also a good one, make sure your near some loot piles and it blends in, have it ready to blow and if your shot you should have just enough time to let it off)
  19. yeah this, if they were actually rare and it wasnt for the fact I have probably seen at least 30 players this week with some form of AS50 they wouldnt be a problem. The problem is hackers scripting them in has made them more common than a macrov, I would then use them if they were some kind of rare 'prize' weapon that you would only maybe see once or twice in your dayz game life, then yeah id use them, but right now im going to use a weapon that requires skill to use and not just a one hit kill no matter where you hit them
  20. Yes take them out, I have an AS50 in my camp, but never use it anymore. My DMR kills feel so much better as I actually have to use some skill to gain a 1 shot kill and not clip of the toenail of someone by getting a glancing hit from an AS50 that magically kills them
  21. I dont hate dayzs core mechanics, warz looks shit, its nothing like dayz in any way except for the zombies. I enjoy the pvp, what I dont enjoy is spawning and being sniped over and over at spawn points because they think that is what pvp is. Ive never played an EA games and dont give a shit about them, dayz is one of the few games I play, none of which are from any of the crap you have mentioned. Point is, I am open to your opinion of having pvp. You have no space for anyone elses views, neither of us are right or wrong. I have just stated that every player I know has left from bordom of doing nothing but shoot other players for months on end, there is nothing unique about that, every other game can bring that to the table. Giving people options on how to play is what a sandbox game is, letting them make their own path. The game cant be defined as a sandbox game if it is only geared towards pvp. The reason there are so many leavers and hackers is because they get board of killing people over and over, if theres nothing else to do but kill everything the only difference is that there is zombies, if they had something else to look forward to apart from just shooting constantly then there would be far fewer people leaving and/ or hacking. Any player (except you maybe) will tell you that its the times that they meet people that dont shoot them are the best times they have in game, because its different and a nice change. Eiether way, both of us are not right or wrong, but im sure your going to tell me how more than 1% of the game being friendly makes it a 'carebear game' So just to clarify, you would rather shoot a player, shoot the next player. shoot the next player or would you rather have, oh look hes friendly, im gonna help him for a while, he can at least distract the zombies until he has a gun I want. Oh look a group of 8 people well armed that dont want to shoot me, ill join them for now and take them all out the moment I get the chance. Of course you would rather shoot them then have any of these or a million other scenarios where you could actuallly have a differnet experience. Having a 50/50 game would mean many more scenarios like infiltrating a group as you actually know they wont shoot you all the time PS: you live in a hole in the ground dont you? Do you hate human contact so much, except for your small band of orcs.....I thought so.....go back to COD
  22. Maybe your right, but the difference here is that the game makes them money, the mod doesnt. Losing as many possible customers that have left the mod is at least half of them, more people have left because of constant PvP. When it comes down to it, it depends on how much money they are going to make or lose. They will make more by having it 50/50 then just constant killing. having friendly encounters half the time and fighting players half the time will make a far better game than just kill everything that moves And your wrong, Rocket has stated a million times that he wants to work on more ways to get players to work together and is working on things such as building bases that can not be attempted with one player It will always have PvP elements, im just saying it will do better if theres more than just shoot Im not saying take away PvP, im saying balance it so more people want to play the game. End of the day its not my problem, if 50% of players quit and go elsewhere then I wont be the one losing money I know of a few people who are waiting to see if anything to help add at least some PvE is going to be in the standalone, if it turns out like the mod with the exact same course of play, there are going to be a lot of people that go elsewhere
  23. Its not a PvP mod as standard. its a sandbox mod, meaning players can do what they want to make the game how they want it to be Its the players that turn it to PvP because they have no choice. What I suggest gives them a choice, there will still be PvP, but it will be balanced and mainly in the outskirts of cities where there us little danger of attracting zombies. Most of the players have left because of constant PvP and hacking, the same thing will happen in the standalone unless its 50/50 PvP and PvE opposed to the 99% PvP and 1% PvE it is now
  24. This could be solved by making zombies do 3000 damage per hit. Then no one would fire a shot at each other, it wouldnt be worth the risk. AS50 on a hill? Bang Now 50 zombies are heading your way and your not going to lose them without help. Might sound harsh, but that would at least make players help each other when stuck in a city and swarmed by zombies, there would just be no hope of survival alone against 50 zombies, together you may at least have a fighting chance. So killing the other player who has just walked into your building would be pointless if you both have good gear, as it should be made so if you both die you now have the added challenege of fighting your way back into the horde to reclaim your gear which would be 10 times harder But you would still get players killing others for better gear, but in most cases they would team up to fight the horde otherwise everytime you kill other players you would die from zombies, eventually most players would stop killing other players at least while in the cities to avoid being swarmed themselves Add a 10 second log out procedure and you wont be able to avoid the horde, and if you kill a player and then log out, it should track how many times you do this and punish you for logging out of combat if you have killed a player within 2mins of logging out. So during those 2 minutes you would be fighting the horde, which then comes in the 10 second log out where you cant move, but can still be killed, but can cancel it at any time during the 10 seconds. Seems so simple, yet no one has attempted this yet

    Thermals

I love my L85, but personally I hope that rocket removes thermal weapons from the standalone and only allows thermal binoculars as pretty much everyone has thermal on them or in their squad and it removes all skill from spotting people or snipers. I could live without my L85 knowing that no one else could have it, but right now with all those AS50 thermal hacked pieces of shit I only take it to spot them and then snipe them with my faithful DMR in my pack (she has served me well for a long time and know how she handles, prefer her to the AS50)
