We gave them a chance, woodland firefight
thelonewarrior replied to thelonewarrior's topic in Gallery
NoLook at my other videos, we are friendly These guys were clearly hostile Also I made this post http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/173064-when-would-you-fire-first-as-a-friendly-scenario-and-poll/page-2#entry1766616 Based on this video, for friendly players to answer Most of them actually would have fired as soon as these guys drew their weapons I'm getting tired of people who just post without reading the other replies According to the vote I made on there, I'm far more friendly than most players I think you need to reconsider your view on bandits because I think you will find your misinformed -

Yeah, although he did hit me on the first shot oh and the reason I came out of cover is because earlier when I shot at someone the invisible barrier around the tree blocked my shots and I thought he same would happen again I cut the part out where the other 2 guys went after the one with the orange backpack He ran straight towards where they were coming from and yet they couldn't see him so they were looking for him, I sent them up the hill to watch our backs and after they searched the area he appeared from behind a tree right next to them, we suspect he found a bush to log off in and waited a few minutes and logged in behind us as they did search that area and moments later he was right on top of them Oh and also, when the guy in the orange backpack ran off the other guy with me went unconscious from the guy in front of me, meaning I was alone and could not follow the flanking guy until the other guy was dead The other 2 guys with me were about 300m away as we were scouting ahead while they filled their canteens at solnichny However I think this taught us not to split up at any point again lol And I do think we need work on our tactics a bit more -
When would you fire first as a friendly? ( scenario and poll)
thelonewarrior replied to thelonewarrior's topic in General Discussion
Nice replies and stories, it's always nice to see other peoples point of view in these situations I think perhaps I give people too much of a chance sometimes and other times ( when we have already been attacked recently and on edge) I feel I don't always give them a proper chance I've been in a situation once where a well known friendly clan were the 8+ guys we ran into (5 in my group) I happily surrendered by putting my gun away and it turned out ok with no deaths on eiether side (we were outnumbered and outgunned anyway had they been not so nice I doubt we would have come out of it alive) -

thelonewarrior replied to thelonewarrior's topic in Gallery
Fair enough yeah We try and contact most people we come across, and we've had friendly encounters with groups before And it was also the fact they would have run into our other guys if they had continued down the road some more so eiether way we had to make contact Anyway, we tried -

I didn't say drop your weapon or die, I actually said a friendly hello twice before I asked him nicely to put it away after he didn't respond and drew his weapon to which they responded by all drawing their weapons and advancing on our position without responding, that's about as hostile as you can get Simply saying "hello" back could have drastically changed the outcome Said this before, we are friendly players, look at my other videos before making accusations you can't back up They were acting 100% hostile, if you respond to someone sayid hello by getting your guns out and charging at them....... Expect to get shot at Thank you, Yes we would have let them pass, apart from the guns they didn't have much supplies and we were loaded so would have happily shared with them Thanks but bandicam is currently the only video program that doesn't eat my FPS, I'll upgrade it at some point and remove the watermarkYeah that probably would have been a better thing to say, but they came across as hostile very quickly -
Yeah your the guys in my video, Boxman was running a training operation and we ran into him
-
Hostile or friendly group? This is the largest friendly group I ran into: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I5gRjW1aZ6I If you look at the player list near the end of the video they are 8 and we were 5

Remove Spawn Timer when joining same server.
thelonewarrior replied to Sir Schmoopy's topic in General Discussion
The reason it's there is some ghosters can't combat log and reappear quickly ( can be done in 10-15 seconds) With the timer, if they log and try to log into re same server there's a good chance the person they combat logged from has moved on This is not going to be removed -
First three days in game....any noobie advice please
thelonewarrior replied to lycanheart's topic in New Player Discussion
The loot doesn't respawn until a server restarts and the problem is that around the areas that you spawn loads of other players have already been around there Imagine only ten people on a server, even if 2 of those loot the starting areas that's going to leave almost nothing or nothing at all The best thing to do is head inland as soon as possible, follow a road into the woods or hills and you should come across a house or two with something there And remember if all the doors are open in the town or city it's unlikely to be worth the effort of searching it -
You could probably check out the clan recruitment section of the forums There's a couple of noob friendly clans and groups who will help you get started I guess it depends on what kind of player your looking to be though And don't turn your back on anyone in game they you see, just because they say friendly doesn't mean they are They have to earn your trust first

DayZ SA Event: The Elektro Peace Walk
thelonewarrior replied to chernojourno's topic in General Discussion
If me and my team are online at the time The Regulators will protect you Cherno journo if we can make it and if it's at a good time for us Eiether way good luck and you have our support Even if I can't make it personally I'll see if I can get some of the guys to match the timezone :) -
I had a 8 man group yesterday Once we get to 6 we usually split into two groups and so on and stay within 3-4 km of each other in case the other group needs help I find you have an infinite amount more options as two 4 man squads or 3 ( if you have 12 people) than you do as one large group Funny thing was, while I was running to the rest of the group I saw about 6 players( full server) And as 8 men, we saw no one after doing Cherno, balota, kamenka military base and zenogorsk Also we could have 4 men sniper cover and 4 men on the ground at balota looting, with that many eyes no one approaching goes unnoticed But id still rather stick to 4-5 man squads

For all the whiners complaining that they cant find any loot....
thelonewarrior replied to overdosed (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
The truth is they are not complaining about not being able to find loot I personally think it's a disguise because they log in, cants find a gun with 100 rounds, try to server hop, get annoyed with the timer and come here to rage -
So we were switching servers while at solnichny due to the population getting below 10 ( including us) We log into another server with around 25 players and get ready to head out when one of our guys says he got rolled back and is in the trees and not where we all logged in So anyway he spots a guy running around trying to loot stuff and not having much success, he goes down and does the usual asking if he wants some food Ect and he takes some and heads off I have a chat with my group about this guy as he told my teammate he had started playing for the first time about 5 mins ago and judging by his actions he seemed to be telling the truth The story goes that this player (called King) was over his friends house who had bought the standalone 2 weeks ago and was Hooked and this guy King was trying it out while his friend showed him what to do Both of these guys (on one character on one PC )said this was the first friendly players they had met and King was told by his friend to not trust anyone and expect to get killed for no reason I make the decision, something I never do anymore.....I ask him to join us on our journey We take him to a small town and show him how to change items over from other clothing and where to find loot, and what things such as motorcycle helmets offer and different types of food, water and how to drink from wells At first he seemed reluctant, probably thinking we were going to "beat , maim or rape him" (his words later on after a chat, not mine) We find him a melee weapon and head into elektro, one of our 5 men escort him while I over watch on the lower hill with my M4 Acog sight and our other mosin snipers set up positions elsewhere This guy now has a full squad covering him, making sure no man murders our newfound companion It takes time as we tell him and show him where to loot and how different types of clothing offer more slots( though he opts for all green outfit over a bright coloured backpack) Next we show him how to craft a backpack from the sack and rope Ect when another newspawn with a fire axe runs up to him and the guy we sent to guard him I move down to his flank and tell him that elektro is under the watch of the Regulators, he is free to loot but if he attacks us or anyone else we have snipers positioned around the city He says he just wants some basic stuff and food Ect and he goes about his looting, thanking us for the protection We head through the city and then our new friend says he has to go and really appreciates the help and tips We give him a compass, can opener and enough supplies to support himself to the next town when he is on next time and offer him a gun but he refuses, saying he will find his own once he had got the hang of things I think we did a good deed today, as the reason he was playing was to see if he liked it enough to buy ( was on a friends account) His first experience counts the most, he said he knows he's probably gonna die a lot to players when he plays again but hopefully the fact he met some of the good guys first in dayz should at least give him some hope We taught him the basics of survival and he is left wandering and learning now that we helped him takes his first baby steps into dayz

Constant PVP ruins the fun of this game
thelonewarrior replied to wuffi (DayZ)'s topic in General Discussion
No you just have no imagination Actually it can, myself and some other friendly groups have a server where we invite any friendly players we come across to come and play on itWe constantly hunt bandits there who are welcome to try and kill us It's a little hidden safe haven for friendly players so if they see any of us online they know they can get help sometimes It's not any different from normal except for the increase in friendly encounters and it's never boring as bandits can still join Just gives people a chance to play friendly if they want to And no you can't have the name or IP address. Only confirmed friendlies from ingame get an invitation -
Congrats to people who hated server hoppers, but was it worth it?
thelonewarrior replied to Rick1633's topic in General Discussion
This might be what's happening, but this was pre patch Shot a guy from about 300m, by the time I got there his body was disappearing and they was in the last patch, it happened like that a few time although in general they stayed there for 10 mins -
There are friendly people out there, they are just hard to find and people get scared easily I've run into some and each encounter has been memorable, from a lone armed survivor scared and his voice shaking as he talks to my group to someone in desperate need of supplies to helpful people handing out stuff
