Thats what i said earlier ...it wouldn't delay kos as all you need to do is aim for a certain part of the body to stop destruction of gear...yes one piece of gear may get damaged...but the gear you damaged is the gear you shot...all you need to do is shoot another person in a different body part till your fully geared out. -

You cant comprehend something so simple ? "A lot of people don't kill on sight and a whole lot more wouldn't kill on sight if there wasn't such a high chance of other players killing them on sight" You cant possibly "know" this....why cant u get your head around something so simple ? I wrote an example and even quoted myself to help you out and yet still cant comprehend that you cant "know" as that would imply that its "fact" and it is NOT fact. Here is my quote a final time "just remember when this mod first released ..it was all teamwork and hardly any banditry ...but what happened ? people got bored and decided to kill each other as it was more fun....that then lead to not only killing people for fun but also survival. Yes there will be more stuff to do in SA but people will get bored of that stuff too and go back to kosing ...like i said in another post the only possible way to reduce kos is when SA is released and people may decide to team-up to explore the new content etc....but they will return to kosing when they get bored" This goes against what you say you "know" ...just bloody read it and you see why . People can and usually do get bored of content after they have experienced it ...it may take some time but they usually get bored sooner or later ...even with a steady stream of content after the initial release of the SA you really think that will keep people occupied and stop people kosing ? Anyways bandits are bandits and will usually kos regarless ...i for one dont care about all this new stuff in SA ..so ill be kosing from day one. Boredom is human nature. -

A mistype ? you mistyped a whole sentence ? nice excuse ...that wasn't a mistype at all and you know it so don't try to worm your way out. You contradicted yourself and made yourself look stupid your now hiding behind the excuse of a mistype to cover you stupidity. I take it in that all the other kos topics you wrote in when we where in disagreement and you wrote total nonsense ..those where also mistypes ? Pathetic. Its true that if ammo was to become more scarce it would therefore become more valuable...but that doesn't mean it would stop someone kosing you ...actually it could have the opposite effect ...they may pop a few bullets into you and take your ammo instead of letting you run off. You see that's what wrong with people like you ...you think that your arguments are fact but you don't even to look in depth at your own argument and see what else lies beneath ...and what lies beneath your argument is that the very thing you say would prevent people wasting ammo on killing you could in actuality lead to them killing you for your ammo. -

'a whole lot more' indeed does not imply the rest of the community ....that is true but it does imply a part of the community and as "a whole lot more" isn't a percentage we will never know exactly how much "a whole lot more" actually is. You do NOT "know" as you said and i quote "And I do know that based on conversations with people that I've played with, met in-game or spoken to outside of DayZ.". ..you do NOT "know" that "a whole lot more wouldn't kill on sight if there wasn't such a high chance of other players killing them on sight"...How could you possibly know ? Also you say you "know" this based on conversations with people you've played with etc....well the same could be said for dgeesio ...hes played/talked with many people ingame ...on many forums and outside of dayz so he also "knows" then doesn't he. Anyways lets move on. -

Not to be rude but im not sure why you seem to think that you can speak for the community as a whole either.. writing what you did below. Get a grip guy ....all you do is talk complete nonsense on this forum. You said "As you can see the system stopped you from killing on site - it's working exactly as intended." Then 2 lines below you said "The system isn't meant to stop bad players from killing on site, that's always going to happen - it's meant to add additional decisions that have to be made BEFORE you shoot on sight." What nonsense ....you seem to have read countless posts made by degeesio where he said countless times he will kos and there is no way to prevent kos and yet you choose the one post where he says something a little different to help prove your point....pathetic. You said "As you can see the system stopped you from killing on site - it's working exactly as intended. you had to approach the other player if you wanted a good chance of getting undamaged loot or risk destroying it" Well in fact it didn't "STOP" him and he didn't "HAVE" to approach the other player"...he decided against KOS purely for the sake of discussion as this topic is about gear destruction and delaying kos. He didn't say he would take the choice to tie a player up and then take his gear hes saying it was an option and that even if he did take that option ...the result would be the same ..the player is gets robbed and killed....its practically still kos. -

I don't see how it will delay it ...If i want a persons gear i will select a part of the body to shoot ...for example lets say the head. I would shoot them on the head and kill them then take all there gear (except the damaged head gear) and then when i next go to kill someone ill shoot them on the chest then take there headgear...so that's me got all the gear i want from them. I cant see any bandit caring about gear anyways ...all they need is a weapon, food and drink etc and protective gear wont make much difference as most times when you kill someone its because you saw them and they didn't see you so they don't have time to react...a bit of damage reduction isn't going to save them when they don't know you are there. Im looking forward to all this gear stuff and collecting tbh as lets say someone has spent so much time collecting everything then i come along with my very basic gear that i collected just after being a fresh spawn and kos that guy if i run into him...hes mad and i got all his gear that he spent many hours getting. In the mod people are mad enough when you kill them and there geared out ...just think how mad they will be when you kill them on SA where getting geared out will take much longer. The only way i can see a reduction in KOS is if when SA first gets released people may decide to explore what SA has to offer as it will be NEW ...but after a while the old KOS will kick in because people have experienced the new content and it isn't new anymore. So if this holds true and there is a reduction in KOS ....enjoy it whilst you can. -

It has everything to do with mechanics ....the spawn system is the mechanic your crying over ...and the spawn mechanic lets me choose my own character story (where i started my journey for example). The fact that you keep saying stuff like "i don't give a fuck what he wants" just proves how childish and narrow minded you are and not to be taken seriously. -

I read the first 17 words your wrote and stopped there as i knew the rest of your post was gonna be total rubbish.....hard from the get go ? the game isnt hard at all and never will be....how is walking for an extra 10-15 minutes "harder" ? In fact its now more troublesome to get geared up now as its so hostile in towns like elektro and im totally fine with that ...i can thank the new "toggle" spawn system for the added fun and risk factor as theirs always more bandits around. If you enter a well known pvp town and die....you knew the risks. So stop whining and go to another town if this spawn thing bothers you so much. -

People don't want to just survive ...they want to have fun gathering the best loot whilst having the threat of bandits and zeds trying to kill them or you hunting/killing other players...also high end weapons are fun to use ...especially if your a bandit. North as you know has all the high end gear and chopper crashes. -
In previous patches you would have to pick up melee weapon and put it in your tool belt ...and then remove it from tool belt to use it...but with this new "carry" you can put the melee weapon in that "carry" slot and press the quick switch buttons (1..2..3) to cycle between primary weapon...secondary weapon and melee weapon. From my understanding its only suppose to be used for that reason.

I hope that when you talk about ranged weapons you don't mean guns...because guns bring more zeds and that defeats the purpose of silently killing the zeds with melee to not alert more zeds....especially if your trapped in a house with the only way out blocked by several zeds...you dont want to fire bullets and alert even more zeds to that building nor waste your bullets unless absolutely needed (meaning you have no melee weapon to kill them instead).
