Lucky it didn't happen to you! With a quad you can easily get shot up into the air flipping from driving on/over a lot of things. I was waiting for you to shoot up until the other vehicle did! :lol: -
Awh, well I think he planted the Mountain Dew with a script to find whoever was holding it. I swear hackers plant them around to do different things to players. I once got one, went for diner, logged into a server, and insta-died. Not sure if it was just bad luck, or the Dew...

Suggestion how to make the different servers better

This has been suggested before, and it was by me. Not to say others haven't either, but I think it could work all in all. If player really want to play on a server with the set percentages of spawn rates, than there will obviously be more servers doing so. It wouldn't hurt to change it up a bit in a few servers, and make it so there is a max to certain items for their percentage rates. I could go on n' on, but there is no need. We will have to wait and see in the standalone version! -
Large weapons = Loss of backpack...

So I've noticed that all the large weapons that I've found on dead bodies seem to take your backpack off. Now, I really can't see why this is, when you can fit any of those guns into your backpack with room to spare. (If it's an Alice or a Coyote of course.) So, does that really make any sense? I would also like to know if the SVD Camo takes off your backpack when in hand? I have not taken it out of my backpack yet. x] Thanks for your time! CZ~ -

I could see hunger taking a bit longer to start blinking, but with all the running you do, it's not bad the way it is at the moment. Also there is a lot of food in DayZ, and with how far along the outbreak is, there wouldn't be as much food as there is. I think this seems fair, as I've always thought the blood amount should regenerate a little bit like it does in real humans. (Not sure how fast it actually accumulates though.) With all the supplies and food in the game, I do agree that the outbreak isn't to far along and should include some vehicles that are drivable with some fuel in them. That will definitely be fixed in the stand alone, and hopefully soon in the mod. I've always wanted to do this in Left 4 Dead, even though that game is about moving forward. You can pretty much do this in games like Day of Defeat, and Counter Strike, so I'd love to see it implemented into DayZ. Maybe even the ability to board up a door too, but there really is no reason to stay indoors. Once DayZ has the ability to have way more zombies on screen at once + in game, than maybe this would be needed. Have huge hordes of actual hard zombies would be great! Instead of things on the floor this could be cool, but it'd take a bunch of un-needed time consuming programming that could go towards other things needed in DayZ. So no real rush, or need for this one. Meh... It's still the same amount of food, and you can really eat any canned food straight out of the can. It should be already cooked, and just needs to be heated up. I could see having some melee combat in DayZ, and maybe having it so if you're around a corner, or even run up to another player, the ability to disarm them and maybe even aim their gun at them too. There could be two methods of disarming, one that knocks the weapons away, and another that give you the weapon. It would make player take more time and be more careful when searching around. It would also change the whole close combat side to DayZ. Meh, once again. I think that players should randomly blink though. That'd be a cool feature to Arma, having to blink randomly. Maybe have the wind in the game and sometimes dust/dirt that causes you to blink more and squint in first person. Also see in soldiers squint when firing or taking fire. Plus when a grenade is thrown, or close by. Much more elaborating needed, but it'd be pretty cool. I guess that's it. At least this get some new ideas or ideas to work on. I still trust Rocket and the team to know what will be best for the game and mod. Giving them ideas though can never hurt. Can't wait to see the stand alone! -

I think the zombie speed is fine. They actually need the ability to lunge at you when they catch up, instead of stopping to attack you, than end up just attacking air. They would hit you once, and sometimes they would stumble and fall to the ground afterwards, but some would have a chance of stumbling than regaining their balance. They should also have a chance of grabbing onto you, to hold you back a bit, and you'd have to tap the mouse or a button a certain amount of times, or a bar the you have to tap as it keeps going smaller while you try and fill the bar up by tapping. The idea still need some work, but all in all it'd make zombies an actual threat. I know when you first start DayZ the zombies seem a tad hard, or annoying because of how fast they are, but you learn to get around them and get away from them very easily. We will have to wait n' see what Rocket and the team do in the stand alone version. Can't wait! :D -

The fight against hacking/scripting

Just wait for the standalone version. It won't allow scripts as Arma II does, and will have a better anti-cheat/hack system. Can't guarantee the anti-system, but for sure the scripts. -
So I was thinking of having a mode where players could spectate and cycle through players that are in game. Of course server owners could restrict this mode to certain players, or just themselves if wanted. Now I know you're thinking, "Couldn't a player spectate, than see where a player or group is, than join in the game and kill them? Well if a player goes into "spectate mode" they would then be not allowed to join in game for a set amount of time. Say 20minutes or so? Now this would help catch hackers, and any players suspected of hacking to be caught. Maybe I'm missing something here, so enlighten me will you? I think this could really help stop hackers and scripters, at least minimize them. I'd like to hear your thoughts or comments on this suggestion. Thanks for your time! CZ~

Obviously did keep reading the thread posts. I know with this Admin would still be able to find a camp, but most of the time the camps are either from the main clan that is run by or part of the Admin and if not it's probably on the map. Also, I know for sure the stand alone will definitely minimized hackers, especially taking out the ability to script, unlike Arma II which allows scripts. -

That's really weird then, because they fit in my backpack (Coyote) with many slots to spare, but when taken out backpack is dropped. Just odd that it does both. -

Well the AS50 I'd found a week or so ago took off my backpack, and yesterday I found a Mk 48 mod 0 that did the same. So I will see... It's only been big guns though, as I'd obtained a M4A1 Holo from the 3 guys that had the MK, M4 Holo, and the other had a Bizon PP-19 SD, the only gun that did it was the Mk. They were on top of a roof near the fire house in the middle of Elektro to the West more in the industrial area, closer to the train station. There were 3 helicopters there. One was in perfect condition, another was badly damaged, and the third was destroyed/blown up. It was the best loot I'd ever found on the three of them, and I have every tool in the game now. I ended up keeping the M4 Holo, and traded the Mk for the SVD Camo I'd found in a different server in a tent just behind the school in Elektro. It had the same amount of clips as the Mk, although the Mk clips have way more ammo since they take 2 slots too. Time to get my sniping on. I also had never seen the ammo for the Bizon before, so I didn't want to take it to run out of it's ammo. It also does less damage than the M4 Holo, and with SD rounds I couldn't pass it up. I also never see the SVD clips anywhere, so where would I find more exactly? -
Ah well, starting new is always more fun then you remember. It also help get better at the game in every aspect. Plus, you're not afraid to die with weapons that you've just gotten, and it's easier to move around quickly and get into fire fights. If you really want good weapons and gear quick, than join a server with a lot of players in it, (Doesn't always have to even have a lot of players) go into a town like Elektro and you'll probably find a bunch of un-touch dead bodies with all the weapons n' loot you'd need. Of course not all the time, but I never seem to have trouble doing so. You can just run around, and not worry about getting shot. Most of the time the sniper that were there are gone, or the players that had looted the bodies already had pretty much everything they needed before killing.

As I've mentions though, with all the Admin abuse would it really be that big of a deal if they did that any ways? It wouldn't add much to the list of power tripping they do all the time. I can see it does have it's down side in that way, but maybe have it so the Admin has to join into spectate mode with a player in mind? They would have to load in to watch one player at a time, then go back into lobby and have to wait 30sec-1min to load up on spectating another player? I know, that's not the best way to fix the problem, so maybe just not worry to much. I couldn't see the admin having to much fun telling his mates where players are, unless he/she is making a video. :P Okay I could see it being pretty fun, getting your clan/group to play tricks and mess with players and kill them in crazy ways. Really though, if you want to kill players and scare them in crazy ways, than just hack n' script. -

Did he die afterwards? Sometimes it just takes a long while for the shots to compute, even though they seem to compute into you instantly. Probably just a hacker though...

Would you really want to stay in one place for days n' days? I really don't think so. Maybe the ability to plant something, but it'd be witht he hope that some other players comes across it way later on. -

Yeah I can't see it making the game that much worse. Sure there would be a few things that bandit have fun with, but I think it's like a lot of Counter Strike servers that have "All Speak" or w/e it's called. It can be fun a lot of the time.
