anyone know what the times on zombie respawn will be like? well i know they mentioned they wont just APPEAR anymore like before, but i would like it if there was a way to clear a whole small town and keep it safe for at least a little bit

i have been playing arkham city recently ( as well as the sniper demo for hitman) and after exiting i would get a warning about having low memory and windows wanting me to disable aero visual themes. i later realized the memory it was referring to was actually gfx vram which although my gtx 580 has 1.5gb of vram apparently these two games are very graphic intensive and need lots of ram to display so much on the screen at once. Now bringing us back to DayZ/Arma2 engine. the graphics options allow us to select our vram (low default and high etc) and we are told to select default so it chooses our full vram potential to use to load the games graphics. *Now i have had pretty good performance at max/high settings with the DayZ mod, but can anyone confirm that DISABLING DESKTOP COMPOSITION helps to improve performance at all?*** like does anyone get more FPS in game to disable this option you only need to right click the arma2 game exe and select it in the compatibility tab. in arkham city doing this frees up enough vram to no longer receive that annoying message from aero themes and even gives me more FPS. in case youre wondering disabling this feature for the exe only disables the desktop theme while your in the game and returns it to normal after you close it, thus freeing up gfx vram resources. *i suspect it might also help load more details and objects and increase draw distance settings *please post any comments if you know what im talking about or have tried disabling the feature i discussed.

k i uninstalled this mod and game after my server was hacked and i lost all my good guns and stuff i found after 10hrs of a life, and i have been wanting to maybe get back into the game and reinstall.... however this mod has not had a SINGLE update in over a month. what gives? i know they are working on the standalone, but they clearly stated that the mod will still be updated and worked on along side the game. why hasnt there been any updates in over a month? this is very disappointing.

this literally just happened to me on US 2257 i dont know who did it, but even the admin was killed. this is bs and needs to be fixed. i had a really good build going also wow dude you got off easy, my hacker was able to instantly kill our entire server by forcing them to run into the water at the coast and somehow we all died instantly. btw this is it for me, im uninstalling this mod and wont play again EVER. i wasted way too much time already and to have my life taken from a hacker or a bs glitch where zombies will kill me somehow for imossble reasons. goodbye dayz

i tried manually updating my game today, totally EFFED it up, BIG TIME tried all fixes i used before, couldnt get it working finally i said screw it, tried six launcher, cant make it worse right? WORKED LIKE A CHARM!!! new version of six launcher autoinstalled, updated my version after running six launcher and PRESTO!!! didnt even get a single error joining, and this is after screwing up my beta and my battleye it fixed EVERYTHING automatically, LOAD SIX LAUNCHER NOW! totally fixed now, even if you use dayzcommander (as do i) update your beta with six launcher, it properly updates BATTLEYE now as well , if im wrong may god strike me down with a hachet

barbwire (REMOVE IT FROM THE GAME FOREVER): -the last several servers i have been on people are just using barbwire to close off entire rooms full of good loot so that they, and ONLY they, can server hop around and collect it for themselves. normally this wouldnt be a problem since i can usually just step over it. but just today someone blocked off a tent entrance containing what im assuming is the only assault rifle for miles in this game, and they placed it on an angle and i could literally not (believe me i tried 10 times at various angles) step over it at all. so the only way to get that gun is to server hop. and that just ruins this entire gaming experience zombies see too far: -i spawn and stand there for maybe 5seconds before a zombie from literally 500m comes charging at me for no reason followed by a second zombie who wasnt even facing me, from at least the same distance -zombies will often still see me from behind from at least 200m for no reason at all -zombies can still quite easily step through walls in buildings to get to me, and they can also still see right through walls most of the time which is very annoying zombies are too fast: -i encountered a zombie, just one, tried to outrun him or lose him around several dozen trees and bushes, this went on for 5minutes before i finally just let it kill me so i could respawn, i would have liked to simply kill myself but apparently this is no longer possible....thanks -zombies still glitch when they run right up next to you, so it takes no less than 2 swings of a hachet to kill them, one swing to miss literally every single first try i make, and the second to maybe hit them finally and kill them p.s. i really enjoy the idea of this game but these glitches make it very hard to have fun anymore

i understand what you mean but in my experience they all have 180 degree vision if not more sometimes, i wish i could find a zombie with even 90degrees view range

i have found maybe 3 toolkits in as many as 30lives and 20hrs of gameplay, toolkits are so scarce its ridiculous, yet i find more carparts than i have on my actual car at home also in the old patches i could crawl on the ground and never be seen by a zombie, yet just now i was crawling in grass, and a zombie from BEHIND A BUSH and still 100m away somehow saw me and chased me down, i had to let him kill me cause i just spawned,

when is the target date for this update? obviously its passed Tuesday July 24th so.....................

i have been running the game on the default visibility since i got it, i think it was 3700 default or something, and i always had lag issues with buildings and other stuff loading on my screen, even though i have a gtx580. as i approached certain things or even if i just turned around, it would load right before my eyes and appear out of nothing, usually even stuff 10ft away. finally today i tried doubling my visibility to about 6000 and it suddently seemed smooth and clear, no more loading as i go. does anyone else find this helps? actually increasing the distance to get smoother play? should i try increasing it to max? who here plays on max visibility and has perfect performance?

yea same and why would i set it to default and not high? my gpu has 1.5gb of ram, wouldnt it make sense to put video memory at high? also i read the max video memory setting for dayz is 512mb anyway and that is on high setting, correct me if im wrong

has nobody here heard of ARMA3???? it will have exactly what you are talking about for its dayz mod rocket wont waste time on this cause its gonna be added to arma3 do some reading on arma3 now

will this new update finally fix infected seeing me through walls and even buildings? i cant walk along a wall without a zombie somehow knowing im there and chasing me, usually by walking directly through a wall or door. thats the most annoying

k, WHERE are you people finding bicycles in this game?!?! i havent seen one yet are they outside or in buildings? never even seen something resembling a bike in this game

how bout unless youre shot in the head, you have the option to come back AS A ZOMBIE!!! lol then you have a chance for revenge and can only melee and run! that would be a lot more work for the devs, BUT AWESOME! the game wouldnt even end at death! epic zombie game becoming more epic :D btw i gave my 'beans' to the post starter, what does that mean exactly? i havent used that feature before, is it just some strange point system for commentors similar to facebook 'liking'?

LOL dude can you really not find pepsi cans in this game? they are EVERYWHERE, no need to have more ways to hydrate in this game i often have to drop cans of pop cause i have so many stacked

do you have ANY idea how hard it is to find matches in this game??? i have played over 12hrs and several character lives, i have travelled half the right side of the map and its towns, and i have literally found matches ONCE ONE time i found matches in a building, and i have only ever found them on another survivor (after murdering them) one time as well matches are way too scarce in this game and there needs to be more of them around, i mean hunting knives are everywhere, so why do i need to play 30hrs to find some matches? seriously its ridiculous more matches spawned or another way to light fires plz

ummm i have an updated game i was on beta 95099 so ....yea not running that old version. and obviously not since no servers i bet are running it too and leave this thread? this glitch still occurs so it needs to be addressed

im not saying the devs should not keep working on the arma2 beta patches but they certainly need to release them less frequently. this way the patches would be more complete with much more fixes at once, and servers would not have to update SO MUCH as they do now. and many servers are mixed on versions so its a crap shoot trying to find a good server with the same version as you unless you update or roll back. and less updating means less screw-ups for ppl manually updating and having battleye errors or just errors in general and having to reinstall beta patches and try to frankenstein their installs in short. instead of 1 beta update per day, maybe 3 a week AT MOST anyone else agree? also are new beta patches compatible with any older releases? or do we still need to only join servers with the exact same version, cause thats another reason to have less updates per week

happened to me in about 2 minutes, i killed a guy from 15ft behind him and i was just lucky enough to switch to his bigger backpack before he disappeared but then i lost the stuff from my old backpack before i could get it back. ALSO items in the barn i was in (along with his body) seemed to disappear at the exact same time, like literally all the items on the ground, gone with his body anyone else experience this? especially when i log out of a server inside a building with items, i relogin later and there are NO items in the building at all i find many items either absent or disappear from time to time on the ground im betting it has to do with respawn timers on items and bodies and even zombies cause i sometimes have them spawn like 30ft away when im already in the middle of the town
