I would really recommend optimizing your game. Here is a link straight from the DayZ Wiki http://pastebin.com/F7Q8Ne2i I did not personally follow much of it, but I did look it over for suggestions. My graphics are quite low. Everything is set to normal with a slightly high vision distance or w/e. No AA or anything. ALSO, VERY IMPORTANT. Make sure your video memory is set to DEFAULT. Otherwise it is limited. Default uses all of your VRAM on your card. The other options limit it. Example: I have 1GB dedicated memory on my video card. The HIGH setting stops the usage at 512MB, leaving a whole 512 left unused. Setting it to default uses all of the memory. another important tip is that hyper-threading seems to mess the game up every now and then. A good rule to follow is only using your main cores. using the -cpucount=x (x = # number of cores) as a start-up parameter. -You must know a bit about your CPU before you do this- Example: I have an older i7. It is a quad core processor that is hyper-threaded. Which means each core has a logical core. Meaning 8 cores in all, so 4 physical cores, 8 logical. This simply means more processing power on one chip. However, Arma is weird and hates hyper-threading, from what I hear. So for me, setting a start-up parameter of -cpucount=4 only uses the four main cores. Of course, if I wanted to, I could use as many as I want. Just for good measure, I'll also link a good video with great description. I also found this a very important link, all of the possible start-up parameters. http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/Arma2:_Startup_Parameters

I had several issues with Battleye while trying to install the mod and get it running. I would join the server and then get stuck in a never-ending load screen. OR I would just get kicked from the server. I fixed my issue by: 1. Go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\arma 2 operation arrowhead (this is with Windows 7) 2. check the expansions folder and see if there is a folder called 'BattlEye' 3. If it isn't there, go back to the main OA folder and open the 'BEsetup' folder 4. Run the 'Setup_BattlEyeARMA2OA' program This will manually install BE for OA, which steam had a hard time doing on its own. Then, before you join a server, turn off any anti virus temporarily. I know when my BattlEye tried to update, it failed because my Avast stopped the download. Good luck! Any problems and I'll be glad to try and help.

Ghillies are still very bugged, whether it is the beta/dayz mod versions servers are playing I'm not sure. But I had this problem as well. Let's just say there is a reason that man you shot wasn't wearing it.

Have you ever seen a zombie movie? Or played the game 'The Walking Dead'? I've never seen the show.. but I know in the game people are bandits. There are some people in the game that will just waste anyone out there and take there stuff, in-game.. and in real life. FACT.

My pleasure! Glad I could help you out. I had to learn that fix myself, couldn't find a single helping guide out there.

I believe it is just a way to highlight your own name.

Also, did he make sure he ran Arma 2, then quit.. then Arma 2 CO (not OA), then quit? That is a key part of the install proccess, even with the Six Updater/Launcher install. -
That's just wrong :/ Butthurt admins are the worst admins.

I'm just trying to help with the problem I had for three hours. Not sure if it's the same, but glad to try and help.
